Id like to say that lake and home ,property ,town were perfect! House was stunning!! Luxury down to sheets,towels,couches, and anytime i stay somewhere i wamt to bring pillows and a fan. A fan in every room with bed pillows accommodating every kind of sleeper! Home owners were also great for advice on any and everything from local restaurants to boating areas. Just great people and stay. Will be going back every year!

Amazing home beautiful views!

we had a large group in both homes with a large number of kids and adults. It was an excellent experience for everyone and the amenities were awesome. Definitely planning a return in the future.

"Ladies" weekend

Love this home! It is Spacious, immaculate with magnificent views of sunsets on Lake Petenwell. Full of recent upgrades. Group of 7 women former coworkers who have been doing renting getaway homes for 20+ years. We will definitely come back! Large kitchen better appointed than anywhere! 2 refrig's indoor and outdoor dishes, glasses, utensils, serving etc. The dining table inside was perfect for large groups and playing games. The bedrooms are very well appointed with comfortable beds, soft sheets, abundance of towels and some with wonderful views of the lake. The great room has the largest comfortable pit group where we could unwind and all be together at the end of the day. For inclement weather or evenings, the upstairs game room would be amazing! House was so large one of our friends never even saw the pool table, foosball, poker table, arcade games! Outside well.... 2 large dining tables and an amazing large hot tub, firepit, and use of pier to bring your own boat. All we can say is WOW and can't wait until next time!

Highly Recommend

We had a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful, well stocked and the bedrooms were all nicely decorated with very comfortable beds! The kids loved the game room which had a pin ball machine lots of games and Fuzz Ball table! The outside was beautifully manicured with a hot-tub and nice lounge chairs and fire pit! The sunsets were amazing every night! Pat and his manager were very responsive and a pleasure to work with! Great location for large families! Highly recommend it!

Great lake home for lots of people to enjoy!

The property was perfect to accommodate a big family get together. Very well equipped with everything you need. That being said, the fans in the great room didn't work, I was told they were burnt out. Later in the day we were very warm, I know the fans would have helped. The ice maker didn't work either, we had to buy ice a few times. Property could really use some updating. A number of back reviews keep suggesting that!

Amazing stay!

We had a great stay with 8 adults and 6 kids ranging from 3 to 8 years old. Plenty of space for everyone and the house is well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, plates, etc. There was a big inflatable raft and swim mat the kids loved to play on. The one downside was there was a large algae bloom in the lake when we were there. Obviously nothing the owners/ house management can do about that. Great place, would definitely come again!

Beautiful property in beautiful location

Overall we loved it. Sunsets are SPECTACULAR. The house is large and open and beautiful. The wall of windows looking at the lake is wonderful. Beds were even more comfortable than my own, and I love my own. The little ones loved playing on the expanse of sand. The lounge chairs and patio chairs were really sturdy and the same with the huge dining table and chairs inside. A few negatives that would not keep from coming back - wish there was boat or some kind of things to use on the lake. Four sliding glass doo whose handles were falling off - our daughter fixed one so that it worked well. We were warned there could be water coming in the doors if there were a big rain. We luckily only had one hard rain for about 20-40 minutes snd the rain did come in. We used three towels but luckily it stopped raining hard pretty quickly. The refrigerator was dead one morning but we found it before any food spoiled. Elide this happens regularly because it becomes unplugged if certain height things are in the bottom drawer of the pantry. My 70 year old husband had to get down on his knees to plug it back in. We put the offending drawer in the garage so that it couldn’t inadvertently happen again. The dishwasher didn’t get the dishes clean. But washer dryers were great. House is well stocked. And we did have a wonderful time together. Kids and adults loved and used the game room a lot. And we loved the bear upstairs!

Great Vacation

We had a wonderful vacation. Communication with Karen was great, she is an amazing women and very helpful!! The home was beautiful. The house needs some TLC, it would be nice to see the owners re invest some money into the upkeep of the property. There was a bunch of dog fur embedded into the area rugs and in the main level bedroom carpets. Karen offered to come re vacuum but I declined. I re vacuumed, but the vacuum did not pick up the dog hair. Karen bought a new pet hair vacuum and it picked up a bunch of the dog hair but not all. The upstairs master bedroom had a bad sewage smell a few of the nights we stayed. Overall, beautiful home. Does need some TLC. The property manager, Karen, was amazing. Would love to return once some updates are done.

Summer in November

This is a very spacious home with considerable lakefront to enjoy. The outdoor areas were great and we used them a lot given the summer-like conditions. Little kids loved the beach. Very well stocked kitchen. Great pillows and mattresses. Only disappointment was arcade games not all working, Overall we were very pleased with this rental and would rent it again if we have the opportunity.

Comfortable and spacious

Great Fall weekend family escape. Great proximity to parks for hiking. West facing windows provided for viewing beautiful sunsets. Ample bedrooms and bathrooms for all. Nice that a high chair, pack’n play, and booster seat were all available. Property manager very responsive to questions before our trip.

Cool place but needs maintenance

Cool place but you need to take the income your getting and maintain the property. Nothing major yet but small things that curtail the guest experience, sliding doors what don't work right, fairly unsafe dock stairs, fixtures that need upgrading, etc, place is too cool to let it slip

Weekend getaway

Karen was absolutely a great person to communicate with about the property. The house literally had everything in it when it came to towels, beach towels, pots and pans, utensils, coffee maker, etc. When packing for our families weekend getaway, all we had to pack was our clothes and food. The wooden staircase going down to the dock needs some work. It was very unsafe for adults to walk up and down and we had little ones in the group. The owner of the property should do an upgrade on the wooden staircase as it could turn into a liability issue. Overall, our experience was fantastic and nothing compares to the sunset views.

Dirty and Dilapidated home, serious lack of communication, only pros were pretty sunsets and space

From the moment we booked and paid 2 months prior to our trip we had serious trouble getting Charmi (the property manager?) to reply - we tried emails, VRBO messages, texts and calls and were ignored for days. Eventually when I asked her if it was a scam and mentioned that we were about to call the bank to report a fraud case, she replied. In the weeks leading up to the trip we contacted her with questions and once again we got no reply for 4 days...until we were 2 hours away. She finally answered her phone and said she would send us check in details - she never did. We arrived and a lady call Karen was busy cleaning - she was rude, abrupt & unfriendly and shouted at us when we tried to open the patio doors to go out onto the patio - we were told not to use ANY of the patio doors (main patio door had no handle). The indoor and outdoor area is one of the main attractions to this house, but this was not easily possible as we were told that we should use a door on the far end of the house and then walk around to get to the patio. A lot of crockery and glassware was still wet and had been put in the cupboards like that. There were gnats in the one upstairs bedroom - bad enough that the guests in that room had to vacate. 2 of the bedrooms had fleas or something similar in the beds and guests woke up with bites all over their legs and ankles. There were dead bugs splatted against the kitchen walls from where previous people had killed them. Carpets are ripped, stairs to the "beach" are falling apart and dangerous, TV's in most of the bedrooms do not work, half of the blinds in the living room don't work - overall this house is in serious need of a deep deep clean and some serious repair work - it is way past a bit of TLC. On day 2, we messaged Charmi to let her know about the various issues we were having and all she said was "sorry, we didn't know about the doors". Those doors have obviously been in disrepair a long time so this was a blatant lie. She did nothing to try and rectify the situation; she did not even send a cleaning crew over. We ended up spending the day washing all the bedding to try and get rid of the fleas. Another thing to note is that the lake is not at all somewhere to swim - it is covered in algae, anyone advertising it as a place to swim is lying. Overall - a very disappointing experience. Take your hard earned money elsewhere to people who appreciate the business and understand hospitality.

Family vacation

Overall this home was perfect for our group of 8 adults and 7 kids (ranging from 3 mo to 10 yrs). Karen, the property manager was attentive and responsive. The house is very well equipped and beds/bedding/linens were clean, plentiful, and good quality. The steps to the beach, which were mentioned by a previous reviewer, still need to be repaired, but there are two sets of steps and one is is good shape. The location is perfect with beautiful sunsets and a great swimming area. I would note that the smaller dock shone in the pictures is no longer useable - not set up over the water anymore. However the larger dock is good. The house overall was perfect for us and we plan to come back next year.

Big House for a Big Family

Sunset View offers 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms (of which 3 are en-suite), spacious kitchen, dining, living, patio, hot tub, side yard, parking. Small, private beach is perfect for young children. Dock is just right for fishing, swimming, and boating. Every kitchen appliance we wanted was there, the pantry held our groceries, and once we filled the kitchen fridge we were very glad to have the additional fridge in the back hall, and the micro-fridge in the upstairs master. The washer & dryer, hair dryers, pack 'n plays, high chair/youth chair/booster seat, ample paper goods, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, the game table that allowed the 4 pre-schoolers to play Legos out of reach of the 1 yr-olds, AND the front-row seat for the spectacular sunset made Sunset View the perfect vacation spot for our clan.

Annual Family Gathering - A++++

Every year we rent a home for our annual 'Turkey Palooza' celebration. A week of Family, Fun and Food with our kids and grandkids. We have done this for quite a few years, always staying at a different location and my husband and I agree this location was tops! Large enough to fit everyone comfortably yet still having a comfy, homey feel. From the larger dining room table to the large comfy chairs for reading stories to the 'Littles', this place made it easy to gather together and relax. Yet there was plenty of room to stretch out into smaller group activities as well. The kitchen met all our needs for Holiday cooking and even our annual cooking contest where everyone is cooking at once. One of our son-in-laws discovered the Polish Deli right up the road and I think we helped their profit statement that week :-) We definitely recommend this place for family gatherings.

50th Birthday l!

What a great place to get away with family. Quiet and peaceful. We found this place due to a cancellation in a previous spot . What a blessing. Not a lot to sue around the. Area but great to just sit back, relax and enjoy everyone’s company! Place has 7 bedrooms and plenty of space, a game room, fireplace , grill And all and I repeat all you could ever need in kitchen supplies! Would recommend this to anyone for family get together ! Karen was awesome. Answered all my questions promptly and very easy to get ahold of! Very thorough tour to let us know where everything is! Prayers and blessings for her and her family!!

The "White House" in Arkdale was a great family get together location

This is the 2nd time our family gathered at this home for Thanksgiving. A small remodel improved the bedroom layout. Everything we could have needed was there... extra table and chairs, plates/silverware for 18, 2 fridges. Karen was flexible and responsive when confirming check-in and out. There was a casino-run, which was a nice escape for the gamblers in our group. We also ventured to Wisconsin Dells (55min) to an Escape Room... and, YES, all 11 of us escaped! The only improvement I might suggest, is hand rail or two in the master showers. My elderly parents had one master and struggled with no grab bar. Great home and location!
