Ce nouveau loft penthouse moderne de 55 mètres carrés (550 pieds carrés) avec 2 terrasses extérieures, construit au sommet d'un immeuble d'appartements de la fin du 19e siècle dans le 15e arrondissement de Vienne, ou «Fünfhaus», est détenu et conçu par un Américain, Harvard architecte diplômé.

Situé dans une rue calme du quartier le plus multiculturel de Vienne, l'appartement est parfait pour ceux qui recherchent un lieu de séjour unique dans un quartier intéressant, diversifié et prometteur, éloigné des zones touristiques typiques du centre-ville.

Pour ne pas suggérer que l'appartement est au milieu de nulle part: il est à seulement 20 minutes à pied du château de Schönbrunn; à 3 minutes à pied de la station de métro U3 souterraine, de l'arrêt de bus, de tramway et de taxi; à 10-15 minutes en métro de toutes les principales attractions et sites historiques au cœur de la ville, ainsi que dans le 7e arrondissement à la mode et en plein essor (St. Cathédrale de Stephan, opéra d'État de Vienne, Ringstrasse, Mariahilferstrasse, Spittelberg, Museumsquartier); et un trajet en métro de 5 minutes jusqu'à la gare Westbahnof avec des trains régionaux / internationaux et des liaisons en bus pour l'aéroport.

Our best experience

We have stayed at VRBO properties around the world and this was one of the best. It's location is great for getting around the city. The owners live nearby and were full of helpful information as well as being very gracious hosts. We will definitely stay here again when returning to Vienna.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this cute little apartment! Very clean, safe area, and the perfect space we needed for our one-week stay in Vienna. Monika was also a great host- met us there to show us around for check-in, and communication was great the entire time. Highly recommend!

Great spot!

The owners are super nice and accommodating people! The apt was really clean, super unique, and plenty of space for our small family. The area is quiet and close to the palace with transportation to the rest of the city just down the road. Definitely recommend!

Very nice apartment on top floor with roof terrace.

We really liked the apartment and it's close proximity to the subway. Area around apartment is a little run down without nice cafes and resturants you would expect in Vienna.

Dear Dave, I am happy you enjoyed our apartment. However, I feel compelled to respond to your 3-star rating and critique of the neighborhood. Yes, the block where the apartment is located is primarily residential, as most blocks just outside of the touristy city center are. But if you had spent a few more days here (as you had originally planned), you would have been able to enjoy many of the great, interesting, ethnic restaurants and cafes in the area – including a beautiful “Biergarten” and wonderful farmer’s market – all within a five-minute walking distance (all of which are described in the binder we keep for guests in the apartment). As we mentioned in the property description, the apartment is “located on a quiet street in Vienna’s most multicultural district, the apartment is perfect for those looking for a unique place to stay in an interesting, diverse, up-and-coming neighborhood, removed from the typical downtown tourist areas.” I believe this is a very honest description. Of course, if you wanted to stay in a penthouse apartment next to the St. Stephans Cathedral in the tourist center of the city, you probably would have had to pay at least double the price. thanks a lot for your stay again Very kind regards from Vienna Monika

Lovely Penthouse Apartment

Great location, with an U-bahn station and a large grocery store both in easy walking distance. We could be in the center of Vienna by St. Stephans Church is about 15 minutes. The neighborhood felt safe, and it was very quiet at night. The apartment has lots of natural light and all the amenities one needs. The host Monika was very kind and helpful. We eiuld definitely stay there again.

Beautiful Modern Apartment

We had a great stay at this very clean and modern apartment. It was extremely convenient to the Johnstrasse Station and a local bakery and market. The internet worked very well and we loved having a stereo with the cds they provided. Eric and Monika were very nice and made us feel at home. The kitchen was well equipped which made it easy to make meals for our family of 4. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Vienna!

Discovering Vienna

Our stay at the apartment was great. Our overseas flight was delayed and our connection missed. Monika was terrific in assisting us with a “check-in” option 2 plan that went smoothly and her assistance was so appreciated. Apartment is as depicted in listing. Located in a quiet residential area with handy grocery, bakery and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Vienna for a week.

The apartment is in a nice location with only a short walk to public transportation. Monika greeted us when we arrived and explained everything to us and was very responsive when we had questions. Note if you visit during the summer when they are experiencing high than normal temperatures there will be condensation on the floors due to the AC being floor AC. The view from the rooftop patio is breathtaking. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Vienna.

Dear Kim thanks a lot for your review. However, we must state that we ourselves have the same air conditioner in our apartment and have never had to deal with a problem like you described. Also, none of our guests have ever complained about it. And we have been renting and living here since 2013. Unfortunately, you also used the washing machine tabs incorrectly and the whole apartment was wet and the fan in the bedroom was still turned up when we came into the apartment hours after you left. Wonderful Rooftop/Penthouse Apt in Vienna

This is a wonderful place to stay on your visit to Vienna. This rooftop apartment was designed by its architect owner. Sleek lines. Hi-tech. Private elevator. Extremely clean. Plenty of space for up to 5 people. Your own private rooftop terrace overlooking Schonnbrun Palace and Vienna. Huge bathroom with awesome shower. Only 2 blocks from the tram and public transportation. And the owners are extremely nice and accommodating. Highly recommended!

Wonderful!

My wife and I stayed at this apartment for two weeks, and loved it. The apartment is accurately depicted in the photos, and the floor plan works really well for a couple. In good weather the two rooftop decks are really great places to relax with a glass of wine after a long day sightseeing. The apartment is very quiet at night. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking your own food, which is exactly what we did for two weeks. We frequented the Chinese stores opposite the Naschmarkt to buy specialty Chinese veggies (suan miao and ku gua), tofu, rice, and condiments and then cooked them at the flat. Nothing like home cooking while on a long road trip! This flat is really convenient to public transportation, and it's only a few stops to anywhere you'd care to visit in Vienna. The area itself is safe, but non-touristy. It's an easy walk to Schonbrunn Palace too. Finally, the owners (who live next door) are really nice, very accommodating, and quickly reply to any correspondence, questions, or concerns. In short, we loved staying at this flat during our Vienna stay, and hope to return in the future.

Amazing! Bomb! Perfect!!!!!

We booked Monika & Ericks place for our first stay in Europe and let me tell you this place is the best! It's in the 15th district and away from the touristy center area. We loved everything about the flat. Elevator, perfect! Decor, Amazing! Architecture, beautiful! Kitchen, awesome. Bathroom shower, to die for! Washer! We were able to do some laundry before we left for Prague and it was perfect.... I didn't have to go to a laundry room, the washer was right in the bathroom. Another great part, we felt so safe in the flat. Automated doors, security chips for the elevator... This place is designed and executed perfectly. Super user friendly. There is the most amazing restaurant right around the corner called Das Augustin! You need to go, it is so delicious!!! Metro is literally right up the street... It's just so perfect . We can't wait to make our way back to Vienna so we can stay here again. Thank you Monika & Erick!

Nice apartment

We spent 6 nights in Monika's apartment and it's certainly a nice property. It's well stocked with everything you would need (iron, toiletries etc). Having a Smart TV was very nice as we could use our Amazon Prime account to watch English Television. The location is great - just 3 minutes walk to the closest U-bahn with restaraunts and bars within walking distance. Unfortunately we did find the apartment quite loud - the flat backing onto ours was very noisy with lots of banging around and running up and down (I assume they have kids). This did prevent us from sleeping on a couple of occasions (on the Saturday the noise went on until nearly 11pm). We weren't aware that the host lived just across the hall from us - when we found this out we felt a little awkward as it was like we were being watched. We were actually contacted by them on one occasion and were asked to close the bathroom window. It was explained that this was to keep the flat at a certain temperature - I do think that as we are renting the property we should be able to let in as much fresh air as we like.

Dear Rob, thank you very much for staying with us, and thank you for pointing out the advantages of the apartment. We are sorry that you thought it was loud - that is very surprising to hear, and that is the first time that we have heard this criticism from a guest in the entire five years we have been renting out the apartment on this platform! I really wish you could be more specific, since there is actually no apartment that directly "backs up" onto the vacation rental - only one that is below it (where a small family of 4 resides). The apartment where we live is (as you mentioned) on the same floor, but our son is typically in bed by 9:00pm on weekends and is not known for being loud. Of course we cannot control what all the tenants living in a residential building with 13 other apartments do, but if you had called us we certainly would have looked into it (and, if necessary, contacted those who were being loud). Although we do live on the same floor, we of course always try our best to respect our guest's privacy. Actually, most guests we have had see this as a positive thing since this allows us to be immediately responsive and attentive to any problems or questions from guests that may arise. In any case, we're sorry that you felt this way, but we were certainly not "watching" you. We only noticed the bathroom window since we see it when we arrive with the elevator to our floor. It is our experience that the modern heat-pump/floor-heating system in the apartment works best when the windows are closed on cold winter days while the guests are out of the apartment during the day. Of course it is absolutely no problem to open the windows to air out a couple of times a day (which we mentioned), We were just trying to ensure that your stay was comfortable. Best Regards, Monika

Appartement lumineux et fonctionnel

L'appartement nous a plu, il est lumineux avec une belle vue, dans un quartier vivant avec des commerçants et restaurants, des transports ferroviaires, métro tramway qui vous emmène directement et rapidement dans le centre ville. Il n'est pas très grand, mais il est pratique, il m'a fait penser à l'architecte Le Corbusier par son côté fonctionnel.

Très belle location.

Merci à Eric et Monika. L'appartement est très confortable, lumineux,spacieux et bien équipé. Il est particulièrement bien situé. Environ 15 min à pied du château de Schonbrunn, 45 min en transports des villages vignerons et 20 min en métro du centre ville. A proximité, tous les commerces. On recommande et on reviendra ! Génialissime ! Mieux n'est pas possible !

On ne peut pas mieux ! 1. L'appartement est neuf, moderne, propre, équipé... Le mobilier est de qualité. La terrasse sur le toit qui domine Vienne est géniale. De nombreux éléments à disposition (linge de maison, dosettes machine à café, chaîne hi-fi, etc.). Nous étions 4 (2 adultes et 2 ados), et la location s'y prête sans problème. 2. La localisation est parfaite. Le quartier n'est pas très animé (donc calme) et la station de métro (ligne directe pour le centre) est à 100 m maxi. Un centre commercial se trouve à 200 m avec un parking souterrain pour la voiture si nécessaire (32 € pour 4 jours). 3. La gentillesse et la prévenance de Monika sont exceptionnelles et ses conseils pour visiter Vienne sont précieux. En outre, Vienne est une ville très sympa ... Conclusion : je recommande vivement cette location sans hésiter !

Penthouse Loft

Unser Urlaub war super und die Wohnung war perfekt. Die Lage war top, 3 Minuten von der U-Bahnhaltestelle. Besser geht es nicht. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war super und sehr freundlich . Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und mit allem eingerichtet, was man braucht. Wir kommen gerne wieder .

Wundervoller Aufenthalt

As an architect and part-time developer, I fell in love with Vienna because of its fantastic architecture, culture, and urban amenities. I personally and specifically hand-picked this property (at that time, an empty attic space) in Vienna’s 15th district, which is Vienna's most multicultural neighborhood, and reminds me of the diverse ethnic areas of New York City where I grew up during my youth. The area is quickly being developed, but at the same time maintains an authentic feel not found in other touristic parts of the city. The street is very safe, and the neighbors are friendly. Also, the excellent public transportation connections (subway, tram), which are just a 2-minute walk away, make it an ideal place to reside.

My tenant, the beautiful and friendly Monika, rents, manages and administrates the apartment and lives next door on the same level with her young son, Adrian, in the adjacent penthouse loft. She is a native of Vienna, and will take great care of you. And I'm quite sure you'll enjoy relaxing on the spacious outdoor terrace spaces after a long day exploring this beautiful city!
