My family had a wonderful time at this cabin. It was a spectactular building and a perfect place for a large gathering! It was also an easy walk down to the resorts restaurants and our favorite, the Owl bar. We highly recommend staying at this beautiful place!

Cabin is just as pictured and described. Gorgeous communal areas with views. Everything you need from pans, spices and cooking utensils to shampoo, conditioner and towels. Feels like a home away from home. The game area and Hot-tub was great - just monitor temperature as it gets very hot if set on high! Great location just above Sundance resort. Short drive to Stewart falls and Mt Timp hiking and biking trials. Would be great location for skiing if there was snow! We had a great family trip for Thanksgiving with a group of all ages. Highly Recommend!

We enjoyed the beautiful views from the livingroom and decks and enjoyed the outdoor fireplace one evening. The home needs updating, new carpet, fresh paint (currently peeling), deck maintenance and cleaning. Cupboards had things stuffed into them, the windows were very dirty. Dead flies in the window sills and lots of bug poo. We were looking forward to using the spa but we couldn’t use it due to such a strong chlorine odor that burned our eyes immediately and made them water when we walked into the room. This was my first experience at a VRBO where there was no shampoo or conditioner provided, which was a big inconvenience. I had to buy those for one bathroom and we had to run around transferring to the different showers (all on different floors) when needed. Usually cooking oil is provided as well, but maybe these things aren’t to be expected? But with the closest grocery store 20 min away it was inconvenient. For almost 1000/nt I would have expected over-the-top but got just ok.

Great location and home for big groups.

The kitchen and house was well stocked. There is no air conditioning, which I didn't realize till we got there. It cooled off at night and was comfortable most of the time, except on the nights that it didn't cool off much. The house itself was great for our group, and we loved the outside fireplace and the deck. The views were incredible from everywhere in the house. I wouldn't recommend for young children/toddlers for safety reasons, but it was great for older kids.

We had a nice stay

Overall the property is very nice, we stayed in June and found it hard to cool the bedrooms off even though it was cool overnight because most windows dont open, and very few that did open had screens on them.

Family Christmas

A great time was had by all. Lots of sleeping room and areas for socializing. We would have liked a little bit more room to sit and eat together. It was so nice to have the conveniences of home and be in the mountains.

Always a favorite stay!

The Applewood House is one of the most beautiful locations in Sundance. It’s a short walk to the Spa and hub of services. My dear friends and yoga enthusiasts loved opening our arms on the deck each morning to the beautiful sunrise. All of the cutlery and dishes have been upgraded and each room equipped with fans. It was a warm week!

A Calm. Cool Family Reunion

Excellent Location. Peaceful and Beautiful Surroundings. Kitchen fully stocked with everything we need. Parking was really good. The mainfloor large windows were stunning. The western decorations were interesting. OVERALL: we highly reocmmend. Two problems: the dryer did not work but the owners responded and said they have ordered a replacement. We did our laundry and hung in on the large deck to dry. The lighting for the main floor bedroom was poor. We could not get the overhead ceiling fan and lighting to work. One of the two lamps was ornamental, but did not work.

Great mountain getaway!

We were very impressed with the property! It had great views of the mountains and wonderful getaway! The space was very accommodating for my friends and I. We enjoyed the location as it was close to many of the activities we had planned- Deer Creek Reservoir and hiking trails. Communication with Lynsey and Chris was touch and go. The dryer and hot tub was not working. But we had plenty of amenities that we enjoyed during our stay

I love Sundance

This is a dream location. The cabin was beautiful, clean stocked well, and the management was very responsive to any questions we had. I would stay here again I would recommend it to anyone we absolutely loved it.

Amazing location, gracious hosts
memories for a lifetime

We just returned from a family vacation for the memory books
a surprise xmas gift for our children.The house could not be in a more perfect location
walkable (even in snow and ice) down to the resort (just around the bend from the spa)
and we were even often able to talk some of the Sundance shuttle staff into rides back up (in addition to the occasional friendly local who just stopped and insisted we jump with our gear into their trucks for a drop off!). The views out the huge windows are stunning—we were so lucky to wake to a winter wonderland each day
the indoor hot tub a frequently used amenity after many hours playing in the snow—either on the slopes or right outside our door. The house is spacious and offers lots of places for people of all ages to spread out (do note that there is only one bed/bath on the main floor
everything else does require handling stairs. Not a problem for our group, but those with mobility issues might struggle). The outdoor fireplace?? The stuff of dreams. Plenty of indoor fireplaces to keep warm and maintain ambiance. They also came in handy when the entire canyon lost power because of the unprecedented snowstorm. No problem, as it was daytime (11ish in the morning) and we relished the adventure of stoking all the fires and cooking our meals in tin foil like early pioneers. As the hours wore on, we started to worry that we couldn’t find any flashlights or candles in the house. The owner, Chris, was instantly responsive and kept in touch with us and Rocky Mountain Power as the hours wore on. At 9pm, Chris and his friend showed up with a newly purchased generator, beer, fresh local bread, cheese, and flashlights. They spent about 2 hours with us, making sure the heat and refrigerator were working
that there was a place to recharge our phones/laptops
and that the driveway was completely cleared. He checked in several times afterwards, even after power was back on (we continued to lose it off and on for the next few days). THEN, I woke the morning before we were scheduled to leave feeling very ill. Positive for COVID. Chris immediately told us to “take as much time as we need” and allowed us to extend our stay for an additional 4 nights while I got well enough to travel. I can’t thank them enough for their hospitality and compassion. It was not our first time to Sundance, but we are pretty sure we’ve found our forever home away from home there, whenever we are lucky enough to snag it. Thank you Chris & fam!

Christmas Fun

The space was perfect for our family. Plenty of room for everyone. The hot tub and foos ball were both a favorite. It felt cold most of the time even with the fireplace going, and it there were a lot of dead flies around. Other than that it was very nice.

Best stay ever

We had a great time at this property! We had two families (13 of us) staying there. It was the perfect size for us plus the perfect spot for the wedding we were attending. The loft area was just right for the 5 twenty-somethings in our party and the 4 couples each had a bedroom. We loved cooking together in the kitchen. We loved sitting out on the deck. Plus the hot tub was awesome! The hosts were great! It's a vacation our families will always remember.

We met while attending University in Utah over 40 years ago. We fell in love with this magical place and all that it has to offer year round. We have lived all over the world but chose to get a cabin in this amazing canyon because it is simply unrivaled.

We wanted to have a place large enough to fit our fairly large family or a group of our friends. The views of the resort were also a big deal to us. We also feel very lucky to be the closest privatley owned cabin to the resort.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Huge decks on main level, and second level let you BBQ, soak up the sun, star gaze and enjoy the beautiful scene around you. The resort is a quick 5-6 minute walk all day long for restaurants, drinks at the Owl Bar, with many other activities year round!
