4 bedroomed modern home with spectacular views

The house is a short drive away from Clifden, Cleggan and from Letterfrack and the Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey. This is a spacious stone-faced house with spectacular views of the Twelve Pins mountain range, Ballinakill Bay and the Atlantic Ocean from a large deck at the rear of the house offering the ideal viewing spot. The house has a big entrance hall with a large sitting room with a stone-face fireplace which is adjoined by the dining room. The kitchen combines modernity with the traditional and has a Stanley range and an island with a 5-hob cooker with oven and grill. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave and dishwasher. There is a utility room off the kitchen with fridge, small freezer, washing machine and drier. Adjoining the kitchen is a small sitting room/snug - ideal spot for the children to play or a quiet space to read. The house has Wifi access., TV and stereo, there is also plenty of books to read from fiction to local history. All of the bedrooms are en suite and the master bedroom leads onto the deck.
Utilities are not included in rental.These will be calculated on departure and paid to owner in cash.
This property is available on a weekly basis SATURDAY to SATURDAY only.

We had a great time staying at this property. It is in the heart of Connemara with easy access to Kylemore Abbey, Connemara NP, Clifden, Galway and Westport. The islands are very close as well. As you should expect Irish weather changes on a dime from rain to sun and back in a moments notice. The owners live on the property and are very friendly and helpful.

Lovely, well-designed and well-equipped house, charming hosts, beautiful area. Lots of information on its flora, fauna and history among the well-lined bookshelves. Car needed, good shopping facilities in nearby Letterfrack and Clifden. Fresh fish for sale in Letterfrack on Thursday and Friday mornings. All six of us (one Irish, two Germans, three French) were delighted with our stay.

Great week in Connemara

The house was really clean and felt very big. We enjoyed using th peat fire and Aedan was always on hand to help us out if needed. The price is fantastic for such a big house, in a great location with amazing views!

The passage

Period spent with daily bike rides, rest and tranquility assured. Lots of space and vegetation around. Oxygen thanks to the proximity of the coast was not lacking... Ok!

Wonderful House, Fantastic Area

The house is perfect for large families or groups, cosy, full of games and books and with stunning views. Lots to do from walking to swimming and horseriding. Somewhat negative aspect, but unavoidable in Connemara: you need the car atball times.

We booked Crocnaraw Cottage not having visited or know much about the area other than it was situated within one of the most picturesque areas of Ireland - the Connemara National Park. We have to say that the cottage was outstanding with the views being just as illustrated and took our breath away - the shrubs have now established themselves . The cottage was adequately furnished and we were fortunate to enjoy relaxing on the patio - the views are amazing and Aedan was very helpful on our arrival and throughout - Janet having even made us some sourdough bread which was enjoyed by us all. We have enjoyed a number of self-catering cottages over the years and we can say that Crocnaraw Cottage is superbly situated for visiting this area of such beauty - we would certainly recommend it to anyone reading this review and are sure you would not be disappointed.

Maison spacieuse et très bien équipée

Un très bon spot pour visiter la région. La maison est très spacieuse et lumineuse, la cuisine est super équipée, le salon est confortable avec plusieurs canapés cosy. Aedan nous a bien conseillé (ne pas louper le marchand de fruits de mer du vendredi sur le marché de Clifden : crabes, huîtres, langoustes !).

La maison à beaucoup de charme, toute fois le mobilier et l'électroménager auraient besoin d'être renouveler. la consommation d'électricité est énorme. Nous avons été surpris par le montant de la facture.... cette maison est parfaite pour une famille chaque chambre possède sa salle de bain. le paysage est magnifique.

It was a pleasure to have this family stay at our cottage.Unfortunately for the first few days of their stay the weather was particulary bad and very cold.As stated in our terms and conditions....all heating and electrics are charged to occupent.....normally heating is not a major charge if atall depending on usage and climate conditions.We explained the system and different programmes and again made reference to the charges of usage.After 2 1/2 days the system had been on non stop.....I explained to the family that this could be very expensive if they continued not to use the set programme and I did not want them surprised at the end of their stay after running it constantly.I explained that after 3 days constant use they had alreay used €70... Guests at our cottage normally never have cause to use this heating system and we encourage them to avail of our wonderful facility of a open fire...a feature of the house.

Great place to be... and to come back

Janet et Aedan, nos hôtes logeant en rez-de-jardin, nous ont accueillis très chaleureusement : ils ont su être disponibles lors de nos demandes tout en restant très discrets pendant notre séjour : nous étions chez nous ! Aedan aime sa région et sait faire partager sa passion et prodiguant conseils et astuces. La maison de plein-pied est spacieuse et très bien équipée avec une cuisine digne d'un Grand Chef, un salon chaleureux, une bibliothèque fournie et des chambres qui ont toutes leur propre salle de bains. La maison est idéalement située et bénéficie d'une vue panoramique sur les couleurs changeantes de la mer et des montagnes du Connemara. Nous avons même pu voir des lapins et un cerf depuis la cuisine. Cet hébergement situé entre Clifden et Letterfrack permet de jouir des plaisirs de ces deux villes (pubs, restaurants, magasins, animations saisonnières). C'est aussi un camp de base idéal pour rayonner dans tout le Connemara (Cong, Innishbofin, Killemore Abbey, Twelve Bens, Roundstone, Killary, etc ...). C'est une adresse à retenir pour revenir en famille, ou même entre amis. Thanks to Aedan and Janet's hospitality, our all family had greatly enjoyed staying in Connemara.

Simplement merveilleux

Une très grande maison particulièrement confortable, spacieuse et étonnamment bien équipée. Il ne manque rien et s'il manque quelque chose, demandez à Aidan ou Janet, les propriétaires aussi prévenants que sympathiques et chaleureux. Ce séjour dans ce superbe logement est rendu plus agréable encore par la proximité de ceux ci. Ils nous ont comblés. Petit détail, je suis en fauteuil roulant et toutes les pièces sont bien adaptées en particulier la merveilleuse cuisine... Si on y ajoute la superbe vue par de larges et nombreuses baies, que souhaiter de plus? Janet et Aidan, encore merci aussi pour les huitres et le saumon généreusement proposés. Si nous pouvions revenir...

Magnifique

La région autant que ce gite sont un enchantement. La vue du gite est superbe, les ouvertures sont larges et nombreuses pour ne rien perdre de cet environnement. Nous avons apprécié l’espace de cette belle maison, sa cuisine agréable à vivre avec mini chaine et CD, sa cheminée où Janet dépose des morceaux de tourbe pour un feu le soir, les bougies à disposition pour l’ambiance des soirées et une belle collection de livres. Impossible de s’y ennuyer et de ne pas apprécier. On pourrait y vivre.

Excellent house and host

We were met by Aedan on arrival and he showed us round. The house is by far the best we have stayed in in Ireland. The photos do not do it justice. 4 bedrooms, all en suite with the master being very big with patio doors to the terrace. Picnic table and patio chairs made for some relaxing afternoons/evenings. We had use of the barbecue and given the good weather this was great. Large kitchen with loads of dishes, pots and pans with gas cooker and electric ovens. The kids had great fun in the large garden. Short drive to Clifden with plenty of shops and restaurants. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing break!

Photographers paradise

A group of 5 photographers used this property as a base for exploring Connermara. We found the accommodation was very good for catering for the groups needs and providing a great base to explore and socialise at the end of the day.

In the Wild West

This was our first visit to Ireland and we loved it! Amazing scenery, lovely people, some great food and drink and none of the crowds that you would find in similarly beautiful parts of the UK. The house was extremely comfortable and well equipped with plenty to do in the local area. Aedan was around to offer help and advice when needed. There is plenty of information in the house and loads to read - a veritable library! We will be back one day.

Very relaxing summer holiday

We had a two weeks stay with two families in July and enjoyed this beautiful place. The house was clean, well equipped and it was enough space for 8 adult persons. Although the weather at Irelands Atlantic coast is always a little unsteady, we had lots of oppoprtunities for sightseeing, trekking and enjoying the beautiful nature.

A beautiful property nestled within paradise

I have stayed in lots of rental properties over the years and I have never had a bad experience in any Home Away holiday property. This was no exception, you could not honestly fault anything if you tried. Things that make or break rental properties in my opinion are generally the little things. Linen, do not under estimate the power of good linen. A well equipped kitchen, even if you only cook occasionally you need a good kitchen, it has an amazing kitchen. The relaxing areas just felt like home, enough seating in dining areas, the garden and a general homely feel. This place ticked all the boxes and more, I and our party all noted how easy it was to live here. Then to top it all off, it is located in arguably one of the most beautiful, unspoilt parts of the world I have had the pleasure of visiting. Mountains, lakes, glacial valleys, huge open spaces where at times you can see no evidence of human existence as far as the eye can see. We were sorry to leave, and would love to return someday. Thank you for making our holiday in Ireland one to remember.

Beautiful House with Great Views

We stayed at the house for 10 days and loved it. Connemara is stunning and we were able to easily get to all the great sights. Aidan gave us some fresh seafood from his business and otherwise we barely knew they were there.

Well equipped house in good location

5 of us shared this house for a cycling walking holiday. it is located about 5 miles from Clifden so a car is required but there is no end of beautiful locations to explore. The kitchen was very well equipped. There is an excellent store of books to read and browse and Aeden was a helpful host. Highly recommended

Lovely spacious property in a beautiful part of Ireland.

It was a lovely property. Very spacious and the kids loved it as much as they did the beach. The beaches were beautiful with white sands and quite deserted. Go to Omey Strand as the beach there is very safe with plenty of rock pools for the children to enjoy. To eat go to the Seafarer in Letterfrack where the food is delicious. We’ve never had scampi like that before.
