Sicily 2025

We would like to thank Gaetano and Mary for helping to make our first trip to Sicily so memorable. Gaetano was always on hand if needed . He even showed us around the local town on our first afternoon to show us the best restaurants and the beach. The welcome pack was more than welcome and they even told us where to buy the amazing Sicilian cakes. The villa it's self was perfect with a lovely pool. Even though it was near a mall town it was a very peaceful spot when lazing round the pool. I would fully recommend a stay at their villa. Thanks again Gaetano and Mary

Amazing week

We had the best week at Gaetano and Mary’s property. Everything was as advertised and more so. We were welcomed by Gaetano and Mary withrefreshing drinks and Italian pastries and most importantly a thorough walkthrough of the villa and all its amenities. Gaetano also took the time recommending different restaurants and activities in the area, which turned out to be great. The best thing about the villa is definitely the pool
 also the garden with organic grown tomatoes, basil, shallots is amazing, not to forget the lemon trees. All available for you to harvest. All in all a great stay!

Great location wonderful hosts

Our stay with Gaetano and Mary was exceptional. They opened their arms to us for our five day stay with a warm welcome, treats and a good lay of the land. This Villa was well equipped, had a beautiful pool and spacious outside areas to dine, talk, swim, sun or shade. The Carini location has great access to Palermo center via the Autostrada as well as the airport. It is a perfect spot to tour the coast from Cefalu to Agrigento by car or railroad (which is excellent), or to tour some of the small towns in the abutting hills. The coastal towns have many beautiful and accessible beaches. Overall our stay was a home run. Graze Gaetano!!

The villa is large and well looked after, there is a lovely garden and pool to relax next too. Gaetano and his family are friendly and incredibly helpful with anything we needed. Highly recommend this villa for a family stay.

Fantastic Villa

Awesome house

The street around it is small but we were fine with it after a day or two or using it very small two lane rd. That was the only bad thing about it everything else was perfect. Easy to het around great area amd close to modello beach

Beautiful Villa

Absolutely beautiful villa and grounds. The hosts were so friendly, kind and helpful. Pastries upon arrival, iced tea and water, and breakfast items. Gaetano and his family were kind enough to transport us to the supermarket and to a nearby restaurant. This villa is a great location as home base to explore nearby sites. I can't thank Gaetano and his family enough for making our stay in Carini so memorable! We hope to return again!

Carini stay

Gaetano provided plenty of correspondence before our stay and set up a wonderful chefs' dinner in residence. The pool was well kept up daily and my grand kids took advantage of it both day and night. I have stayed in thousands of hotels, resorts and villas and Gaetano is by far the most gracious host I have had the privilege of staying with and even though we were only there for three days, I already miss his friendship. First visit to Sicily

Best decision of our month long trip

Eight family members ranging from 15-79 stayed at Mary & Gaetano’s place for 8 nights. They couldn’t have been more lovely, welcoming and accommodating. The home was spacious with a charming kitchen, bedrooms with great a/c, and a large outdoor area for dining, swimming, playing games and lounging. The location is not centrally located in Sicily and but very walkable but we managed many day trips around the island and it is very close to the beach. Some in our groups opted for days around the pool which was perfect to make everyone happy. They made wonderful suggestions for where to grocery shop and eat and Gaetano even drove us to town to show us where to get an atm and catch the train! We highly recommend any groups (from 4-8) stay here for a wonderful authentic experience!

What a delight!

The first thing to know is that our hosts Gaetano and Maria we terrific. A wonderful welcome and helpful at every turn of our stay. Totally available to us but protected and honoured our privacy. The house itself is both rustic and majestic. We don’t enjoy sterile hotel environments and G&M’s home was exactly not that. Clean and with most things in good working order. We just moved in and thoroughly enjoyed our week. Gaetano even kept the pool open for our stay at our request because we had a few dedicated swimmers. We all loved our stay and recommend this property wholeheartedly!

Like an Oasis!

We stayed here for a week and had a wonderful experience! Checkin was very thorough and our hosts gifted us with wine, pastries and other goodies. The property is like an oasis - palm, olive, hibiscus, lemons, fig, roses, cacti and rosemary grow all over the grounds and the pool is a welcome respite after a day of touring the countryside. The property was spotless and very private - there is a wall surrounding the property which makes it very secure and private. It is less than a 20 minute drive from the airport so it’s super easy to get to. Our hosts were available to answer any questions. I have no hesitation recommending this property.

One of the best vacation

Wonderful spacious, modern, clean, well-equipped villa can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. Conveniently located 10 min drive from airport and 20 min drive from Palermo. Car is a must if you planning to visit numerous sites in Cicily. One internal and one summer kitchen outside with barbecue gives you variety choices of cooking. Beautiful, private, clean pool with filtrated water allows you to relax after daily tour or sightseeing activities. Gaetano, his wife and son are wonderful, kind and very caring people. Made all possible efforts Ń‚ĐŸ convert our vacation to one of best experience ever. Welcomed and greeted with enormous plate of Sicilian sweet cakes, provided information, addresses and phones of restaurants, supermarkets and advised about places to visit. Highly Recommend this place! Great value for money!

We were very well taken care of!

The property is very clean with lots of room indoors and out! Having a bathroom and shower in every floor is great for a large group. Air conditioning works great. The pool is immaculate as I believe Gaetano attends to it in the early morning. It was honestly hard to leave the house and visit the city. On top of the great vacation home, Gaetano and his family are such wonderful hosts. They helped us arrange a car rental for a great price, they helped us book a yacht tour from Trapani. And even gave us a ride to the airport and train at the end of our trip. Such kind people who want to ensure your stay is perfect. And very easy to communicate with via WhatsApp if questions arise. Fantastic host in a wonderful property

Had a fantastic time at Villa Buffa with the gorgeous pool and the outdoor and indoor kitchen/BBQ setup, with Gaetano going out of his way to make sure we had the best possible stay. As a host Gaetano was always on hand to help us plan our trip, even offering to ferry us back and forth to the train station for a day trip to Palermo (a trip that is walkable but an offer much appreciated in 35C heat!). The villa requires a car to make the most of the trip - our advice is to use the horn round the corners near the villa as it's quite narrow, but it's completely navigable and you're on main roads within thirty seconds. Other trips out include Terrasini for the charming seaside town vibe, Trapani for boats out to the islands and Palermo for the fantastic street food and drinks. It was testament to how much we enjoyed time in the villa that we didn't make it to Cefalu or San Vito lo Capo but were we planning to go again we'd stay at Villa Buffa in a heartbeat.

Wonderful!

We are just back from a fortnight at Gaetano's Villa, and we cannot recommend it more highly. The house is impressive, with airy, high ceilinged rooms and super effective air-conditioning throughout..for our family, with two teenage children, having spacious rooms for each, and 4 bathrooms to choose from was a real luxury! All facilities and equipment needed is provided and of high quality, and again, our teenagers hugely appreciated the superfast WiFi available throughout ( and outside ) the property.. The garden truly is an oasis, and with the stunning pool as centrepiece, there is lots of room for sunbathing but also relaxing in the shade of the outdoor areas and, of course, the excellent outdoor kitchen area. Carini is a great location from which to explore the north west of Sicily, and we enjoyed trips to Monreale, Palermo, Capaci, Scopello and a wonderful boat trip to Favignana alongside our host family - highly recommended for stunning coastlines, crystal clear waters to swim/snorkel in and to visit Trapani. Closer to the villa there are several great swimming/beach spots as well as a variety of supermarkets, shops and very good restaurants, all within 5-10 mins drive. Finally, what really made the stay for us was the wonderful hospitality of Gaetano and his family. On hand for advice and tips, and even a drive by tour of local sites on our first day - you are left entirely to your selves in the villa, but always with Gaetano available nearby if any questions...this was highly appreciated! We can't wait to return again one day and continue to explore the wonderful island of Sicily and enjoy the Villa again!

Perfect Private Villa with the most Gentle host I have ever met... THANKS GAETANO!!

Not much more words than what I describe above here can be said. From the arrival to the property till the moment we left... We received a warm welcome by a Gentle man (Geatano), his lovely wife and beautiful daughter. They gave us some drinks and ice creams and took the time to have a descent and warm introduction. They took the time to show us and walk us through the beautiful property and allow us to be comfortable with showing us all the necesary information about the accommodation, emergency information, facilities and nice places in the area, nice restaurants in the area and they even ordered us some nice family pizza's because we arrived late and didn't eat yet. There is not a lot to say more about the property and the location/ area than it is simply perfect. It is clean, the interior is very elegant, big bathrooms and the outdoor kitchen and pizza oven are amazing. The house is very nice and there is space for 9 people to stay. The pool is amazing and the gardens are perfect and allow maximum privacy. We can say that there is 100% privacy in terms of the area where the pool, the house and gardens are. What struck me the most and made the whole Experience as never before was the Gentle and helpful pro active charming person of Geatanno. On the second day I was involved in a car accident and didn't know what to do since the other side was quit agressive in dealing with the situation. I decided to call Geatanno and he was with me in 10 minutes and helped me with everything. He handled the situation... Made my family feel comfortable and even came with me to the airport to switch the car which was damaged. I could not thank him enough, but his answer was... It was my pleasure to help and support my guests. 2 days later I got sick and because of a virus I brought from home... I could not breath and never had such experience and at 6:30 in the morning Geatanno came over to the villa and brought me to the emergency hospital and made sure I got the care I needed... He stayed with me the whole rest of the day and even came with me to do some grosery for my family and bought some food for us. Altough I had these two unfortunate experiences.... I could not wish for a better holliday thanks to this special person and in the end he even said it was was an Honor for him that he could do that. WOOOOW... What can I say more... Even my wife said that she felt touched by his gestures and the way he treats his guests... Geatanno... Thank you
