Cortijo Paco is situated at the entrance of a small 200 year old
lwhite washed village. From the two terraces all areas are covered whether it be lounging in the sun, a dip in the small jacuzzi,( summer only ) to watching the stars at night or simply entertaining with the BBQ, the outside space suits all. Inside you will find three bedrooms, one en suite. one family bathroom . The house can easily sleep 5 within the bedrooms and two extra beds can be placed in the upper lounge for children at a small extra charge per night .
Two lounges, one with Spanish TV & firestick and wifi. So plenty of space to relax in. A good selection of games and dvds are provided for all ages. All rooms have fans for the summer and heaters for the winter in addition to wood burners in both upper and lower lounge. The lower lounge has a pellet burner for any very chilly nights. After the starter wood and pellets, addition supplies are at guests cost.
Linen including towels is provided, we provide towels for the beach as well as use in the house. Hair dryers and all the usual items, such as an iron and ironing board, washing machine and a well appointed kitchen.
The Village is located 2km up a party surfaced track/road, it is tranquil and peaceful and has no through traffic and thus is a safe and carefree location for all the family. A car is essential as there is no public transport to the village. It is a place to relax, walk, bird watch or just unwind. As the village has little light pollution it as excellent place to star gaze and watch the night sky. The house offers a very comfortable and well equipped base for your stay. The village is approx 7.5 kms (15 minutes) from the costal town of Castell de Ferro, with its beaches, bars, restaurants and shops. Within easy drive to the numerous beaches along the coast and historical sites within the area. The combination of peace and quiet in the mountains and the close proximity to the coast make it a great place for those wanting to get away from it all.
Whether you are a couple, a group of friends wanting a break from work or a family wanting a holiday you will be comfortable in Cortijo Paco. Spend your day relaxing in the hills or down on one of the local beaches, but within easy access of Granada and the Alhambra. Or visit the Sierra Nevada ski slopes, the Caves at Nerja. Almunecar and Salobrena. La Alpujarra- Pampaneira & Trevelez. Lanjaron, take the waters in the spa town or visit the national park at Cabo de Gata Nijar. So much to do and see.

Fabulous calm place to relax

Beautiful place to stay, books aplenty, a sun trap terrace, helpful owners and all around only the sounds of birds and sheep.

Maison agréable

le positif : la maison situĂ©e dans la montagne est agrĂ©able, confortable, nous avons beaucoup apprĂ©ciĂ© les aliments et boissons mis Ă  disposition Ă  notre arrivĂ©e ainsi que le nĂ©cessaire de toilettes (gel douche, papier toilette, serviettes etc). la maison est trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e, parasol, jeux pour enfants, livre (en anglais), matĂ©riel pour cuisiner etc et la propriĂ©taire trĂšs disponible et soucieuse du bien ĂȘtre de notre sĂ©jour. le nĂ©gatif : Le trajet pour s'y rendre est trĂšs pĂ©rilleux et demande beaucoup de prudence. la maison n'est pas Ă©quipĂ©e de climatisation ce qui a Ă©tĂ© difficile Ă  la pĂ©riode oĂč nous sommes allĂ©s (juillet 40 degrĂ©s) et une consĂ©quence d'ĂȘtre en montagne c'est qu'il y a beaucoup de mouches et moustiques ce qui ne nous a pas permis de profiter des magnifiques terrasses.

Une magnifique découverte !

Un sĂ©jour trĂšs agrĂ©able dans la maison de nos hĂŽtes. TrĂšs bon accueil avec de quoi faire un repas pour nous 7. Maison trĂšs agrĂ©able Ă  vivre avec des petits salons oĂč chacun pouvait s’isoler si besoin. Jacuzzi trĂšs sympa pour les fin de journĂ©e. Deux terrasses bien agrĂ©ables et une vue magnifique ! De jolies balades aux alentours et la mer Ă  moins de 8 km. En rĂ©sumĂ© : sĂ©jour trĂšs agrĂ©able dans un petit village au charme fou !!

Amazing place

A beautiful house, so well decorated, perfect for a quiet, relaxing family holidays. Our sons loved playing in the countryside around the house and we all enjoyed the cosy house. Ruppert and Nicky are lovely people who welcomed us so well with a full fridge and a house full of everything we needed. A huge thank to them !

Superbe séjour

Superbe séjour! Nicky et Rupert sont vraiment sympas, nous avons rarement été accueillis comme cela , Rupert est venu nous chercher à Castell del ferro. Lorsque nous sommes arrivés à la maison, le frigo contenait plein de choses pour le repas du soir et petit déjeuner, c'est agréable, coca, eau et biÚre au frais ! Dépaysement total "l'Andalousie la merveilleuse", autour de nous, les amandiers, les figuiers et ces belles nuits étoilées à contempler depuis la terrasse, quelle tranquillité... Le chemin d'accÚs est vraiment surprenant , mais comme dit Nicky, on s'y fait vite. Merci à Nicky et Rupert en espérant les revoir lors d'un autre séjour. Sandrine, Mohamed et les enfants.

A total delight, an extremely well-appointed house, a wonderful rural retreat.

It was the best equipped of any gite we've ever stayed in. Our hosts, Nicky and Rupert, were extremely kind and helpful and the tiny village setting was ideal as a place for complete relaxation.

Everything you needed

Nicky and Rupert are great hosts ,we arrived with a lovely welcome pack which had all the essentials to start us off,the house is a beautiful Spanish house that has everything you need from books to DVDs log fire just perfect for that total relaxation holiday,only a 10 min drive if you want bars restaurants etc,great base for visiting the rest of Andalusia ,we stayed 6 weeks and wished we could have stayed longer just for the stunning view from the house alone ,so thankyou both we will be back soon .

Fantastisch plekje in de bergen in authentiek vakantiehuis

Vorig jaar zomer boekten wij dit idylische vakantiehuis met fantastisch uitzicht op de beregn en vallei. Een ruim opgezet vakantiehuis in authentieke stijl. Het weggetje naar het huisje was erg stijl en zonder hulp moeilijk te vinden. Vandaar dat devriendelijke eigenaars ons opwachten bij het benzine station onderaan de weg en ons voor reden naar het vakantie huis. Eenmaal bij het goed ingerichte vakantie huis was de koelkast gevuld om een eerste dag door te komen zonder boodchappen te hoeven doen. Je hebt wel een auto nodig maar strand is op 10 min. rijden. Het gedeelte van spanje waar het huis zich bevindt is nog niet overspoeld door toerisme waardoor zelfs het strand heerlijk rustig was. En in de omgeving nog authentieke tapa's gratis bij je drankje geserveerd worden. Enige minpunt van de locatie midden zomer waren de vele vliegen in dit gedeelte van spanje. Tip: Door zwenk ventilators op het terras te zetten kun je ze verdrijven.

Awesome scenery, a house that caters for your every want and need, and impeccable hosting

A six week stay that went so fast. The property catered for our every want and need. Our two dogs loved the breathtaking surrounding hills and all the walks that came with the property. The local beach and nearest town with shops and amenities are a ten to fifteen minute drive away and were more than adequate for our wants and needs. The main mediterrean motorway that can take you from Almeria in the East to Malaga,Marbella and Gibralter in the West and up to the Sierra Nevada and Granada to the North, is a ten minute drive from the property, if exploring the diverse region of Andalucia is on your "to do list". Our hosts and owners, Nicky and Rupert, (and their two dogs, May and Monty),are genuinely lovely, and available should you need to ask any questions or advice, without invading any privacy. The property description was extremely accurate We have never recommended a property as highly as Cortijo Paco, in over thirty years of travelling all over the world. We would return without any hesitation.

Eine herrliche, sonnige und entschleunigte Zeit in El Ferrer konnten wir in dem Ă€ußerst komfortablen und gemĂŒtlichen Haus unserer Gastgeber verbringen. Abgelegen, nur ĂŒber eine abenteuerliche Fahrt zu erreichen, liegt das Minidörfchen. Von 2 Terrassen hatten wir einen traumhaften Blick in das weite Tal. Natur pur den ganzen Tag! Das liebevoll ausgestattete alte Bauernhaus lĂ€sst nichts zu wĂŒnschen ĂŒbrig. Selbst BademĂ€ntel und SonnenhĂŒte stehen zur VerfĂŒgung! Die Abgeschiedenheit und Stille bedeuten allerdings auch, dass Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Gastronomie und das Meer erst nach 15-minĂŒtiger Autofahrt, in Castell de Ferro, zu erreichen sind. Wanderungen und KulturausflĂŒge, Meer und Strand, Ausruhen und Andalusien genießen - was möchte man mehr!

great place

We had an excellent time in Nicky and Rupert's house. The house was clean, so well decorated, peaceful atmosphere. Nicky an Rupert were so nice with us. We had everything we needed in the house even a full fridge! We felt even better than at home. It is the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Our kids were delighted with the surroundings of the house, they could play ine the village, building sheds.... and they also loved the legos for them in the house, the beach games ...... A huge thank to Nicky and Rupert!

Breathtaking location exceptionally well equipped

Everything you could possibly need was provided,including ample provisions to start your holiday. We loved our stay and would thoroughly recommend it. As arranged we were met by the owner and followed her up to the village The rough track makes a bumpy ride but that all adds to the pleasure of this holiday retreat. Thank you too for welcoming our pets. Such an idyllic location.

A very beautiful place to stay.

We had a very nice stay in this lovely house. Everything was perfect. When we arrived at Castell de Ferro, we where guided to this house thanks of the helpful owners. The house was even bigger than we expected, it was clean and perfectly equiped, especially the kitchen. For the first day there was some food in the refrigerator. It is a perfect location, if you are looking for nature and if you want a silent place to stay. Especially at night we enjoyed star-watching from the terrace. The beach at Castell de Ferro is very nice and clean, perfect for snorcheling. It is very easy to get to Granada, Malaga and Cordoba. The owners are very friendly and helpfull. Thank you very much for this perfect vacation.

Idyllic, a hidden gem, perfect holiday cottage

From the moment we arrived we were captivated. The cottage is in an amazing location - hidden away up a valley, up a rather steep windy road which you get used to very quickly. It is beautifully furnished with everything you could want and more for a very comfortable stay. Our three children (aged 5,10 and 12) settled in immediately and loved playing with the toys, hopping in the jacuzzi ( a nice cool down on a hot day) and relaxing. The beach is just a short drive away, and the house is very handy for exploring the region including a trip to Granada. Nicky and Rupert came to meet us to show us the way and made us so welcome. There were cold drinks and food supplies in the fridge too which were most appreciated. The property was spotless, perfect, so well set up with plenty of space for everyone and even better than the photos had suggested. We would love to return one day for a longer stay. We recommend this as a wonderful place to come and stay. It is a highlight of our trip so far.
