Venez loin de tout cela dans notre maison de bord du lac. Cuisine moderne, 2 salles de bain complètes, laveuse et sécheuse, foyer. Tout de suite à Rt 17. Près du Festival des Arts du Spectacle de French Woods et du French Woods Enrichment Centre. Salon sur une grande terrasse menant à un lac tranquille. Silver Lake est parfait pour les sports nautiques, la natation ou la pêche. La rivière Delaware est à quelques kilomètres. Passez vos soirées sur le pont à rôtir des guimauves dans notre foyer à gaz.
Beaucoup d'espace pour toute la famille avec 3 chambres, 2 salles de bain complètes, salon et plan d'étage ouvert. Nouveau cette année, 2 kayaks pour adultes et 3 kayaks pour enfants. Nouveau cette année est une douche extérieure.

Fantastic location by the lake

We really enjoyed our stay on Silver Lake. The house was great— the deck was wonderful. Evenings roasting s’mores at the fire pit. Great amenities. The house was sparkling clean.

A terrific place to stay!

My college roommates and I gather each year in this area of New York to spend some time together. This was our first stay at this property after several years at another location (not VRBO) that had fallen on hard times. The house was very well equipped, with linens and towels supllied. BTW, the towels were top quality! We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and recommend this location.

Family vacation

House is right on Silver Lake, which is very small and peaceful. Perfect for fishing and kayaking. Everything is available for both. The house leads out to a huge deck right on the water. Great for a relaxing stay away from the stress of every day life.

Our Silver Lake visit the week of July 21 2018

This was our first visit to this area of NY. We enjoyed our week on Silver Lake. This home came fully stocked so no need to bring along the towels, sheets, kitchen or laundry products. There are a couple of grocery stores that are approximately a 10 minute drive away. They are a bit more expensive so you may want to bring groceries from home or plan to drive to the Walmart near Binghamton. The home is right on the lake so we enjoyed fishing from the dock and from the kayak. There is a "resident" snapping turtle who would swim by daily and check us out. Although we didn't swim, the neighbors report he swims away when you go in the water. We also enjoyed the deer, eagles, wild turkeys and other wildlife that we spotted along the lake and during our travels. This home is very comfortable and a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing time away. We didn't get to enjoy the propane fueled fire pit since we had a rainy week but it was awesome to just sit on the deck and watch the clouds go by and enjoy the views of the lake. We were happy to have found this rental and would recommend it! As a side note, we have Verizon cell phone service and found our service was intermittent around this entire area. So if you rely on your phone as a GPS, you may want to print out directions just in case you run into a similar situation. Also, make sure to check out the Hancock reservoir nearby-absolutely beautiful!

great deck!

Pros: The deck is amazing, including the accessories on it - fancy grill, gas fire pit, amazing patio furniture. There were so many water toys - 5 kayaks, fun inflatables, water guns, fishing rods and tackle. There are lots of fish in the lake - we caught two even though we are super inexperienced. The neighborhood is great for running and biking, especially with kids. The property owners were super responsive and helpful, answering all of our questions within minutes via the VRBO app. Cons: The house is in need of some general maintenance and fixture updates. The ceiling fans made abnormally loud noises which were too much for my kids, and it was roasting hot without them on, which made for unpleasant sleeping conditions. This place was described as being quiet, but there were lots of motorsports going on around us all week, including jet skis and ATVs. Note for parents of young kids: I always like to add notes for those traveling with toddlers. This place has two working bathtubs and a washer/dryer, which was really amazing. The kids' room has a trundle underneath the bunk bed if your toddler isn't ready for the bottom bunk yet. However, the ladder to the top bunk is not removable, so if you have a climber (like mine), you will have to think about supervision. We solved this by the toddler sleeping with my husband in the first-floor queen, while I slept in the bunk room with my 7yo, which was fine, just less romantic than we had hoped for. The ceiling fan is partially over the top bunk, so it could smack an unsuspecting child in the head. The stairs could be blocked by a simple baby gate (I think - our toddler is past that stage). If you go in the winter, the fireplace is big and would need an enormous gate to block it off, but you could just not use it. The living room has these ottoman-box things that are not sturdy enough for toddlers to climb on, despite being the perfect height to tempt them, which was frustrating for all of us. On the plus side, the screen doors have twist-latches so you can keep your toddler in the house while still letting the breeze in. The deck is just how it looks in the pics - open right to the water. We solved this by putting a life vest on our toddler every time she was on the deck, but it was still a little nerve-wracking. Overall, I'd probably say this is a 3-star house for toddlers. I've stayed in worse, but would definitely recommend this for older kids who can swim independently.

Peaceful lake vacation

Pros-amazing deck space, caught fish every single day, plenty of floats canoes and kayaks, several days we did not see another soul until noon so if you like peace and quiet this is a great spot, very remote and small peaceful lake, great one mile loop to walk around every day, owners very communicative and prompt, several very sharp knives in the kitchen. Cons-downstairs bedroom so small there's absolutely nowhere to even put suitcases and the bed is smack dab up against the wall, there's no air conditioning and even though people will tell you you don't need it up there trust us, you do. It was over 80° in the house even when we kept the shades drawn during the day. So if you like it cool in the evening when you sleep bring a portable air conditioner or lots of fans because it is very warm and humid. If you don't like the idea of having to drive quite a distance to get to grocery stores, breweries, shopping districts... You may want to look for a lake that is not quite as remote as this one. If you plan on cooking while you're there, make sure you bring your own seasonings and a couple of decent pans to cook with, the kitchen is stocked but very basic and old scratched up pans and only salt and pepper in the cabinet, every single night someone around the lake was lighting off fireworks, sometimes as late as 10:15 at night.

Beautiful Property and Responsive Hosts

The hosts were great, and the property was very nice! They have a ton of kayaks and an amazing deck. The only complaint is that the owners have a dog, but didn’t list that on their listing. We had to de-fur the couches so that I could sit on them (I’m allergic to cats and dogs). Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Spot & atmosphere

We rented this house for a mini getaway and it was perfect. The location was great, the deck lead out to the lake and we throughly enjoyed fishing and going out n the kayaks and canoe that was provided. The weather was great and on our side, we all enjoyed our time and look forward to possibly renting here again!

Right on the lake

We had a long weekend in late October 2020 to get away. Loved the large deck - it was warm on the day we arrived and spent the entire evening on the deck. The rest of the weekend was cold so we enjoyed the lake view from in front of the fireplace. It was perfect, relaxing weekend. Would love to come back in warmer weather and enjoy the lake!

Peace and Relaxation

The place was in a beautiful location. We relaxed and fished the entire time we were there. We caught some nice blue gill and perch off the dock. The lake was just steps from the deck which was a major plus.

Great vacation getaway on Lake

We had a great time at Elaine and Jason's place. It was the perfect weekend with family. The deck and private lake made this whole trip perfect. The beds were very comfortable, the house clean and lots of things provided by home owners. We just loved sitting on the deck looking at the lake, fishing and kayaking. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely stay again.

excellent lakeside getaway!

really great lakeside house! we had a group of 6 and definitely had plenty of room. lake access is super easy with the two dock areas, and there are plenty of kayaks and floats available to use. the deck area is even bigger than it looks in the pictures which was awesome, and the firepit is super nice to sit around at night. overall really excellent place to stay - would definitely come again!

Love it

The lake is beautiful. The deck is very close to the house and right on the lake. You can fish and boat. The area is also perfect for road biking. The neighborhood is extremely kid friendly.

I'd recommend this place without a doubt

Had really enjoyed my stay there. The view of the lake was breathtaking day or night. I also like being able to use their outdoor equipment. The house was very welcoming and I felt very comfortable being there.

Great Location!

Overall we had an excellent stay at Silver Lake. The mountain view, lake, and decks were amazing. Numerous chairs, kayaks, fishing poles, etc kept us entertained. Cottage could use an interior paint job and thorough cleaning (closets - drawers - etc), but I will admit I'm picky. :-) Kitchenware could be better -- but honestly to be expected at a rental property. Beds were very comfortable, linens were nice. Had a great stay, would recommend and would love to stay again!

Great Lake and Amazing View

My wife children and I had an amazing time at the lake house. The house was spotless and has every amenity that you could ever need when renting a house. The owners were very accommodating and were willing to do anything to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. The dock was by far the best dock on the entire lake, with wonderful views and multiple levels for cooking/eating and docking the canoes and paddle boats. There were also many extra's that you never find when renting a waterfront property such as multiple canoes and small rafts that you can use free of charge while you are there, as well as life preservers, and multiple flotation devices such as noodles and blow up rafts/inner-tubes. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away and simply relax on the lake. The community was very quiet and everyone kept to themselves allowing my family to simply enjoy the water and do nothing but relax. There are also two towns within 5-10 minutes driving distance that has everything you could possibly need, restaurants/grocery store and liquor store as well as a pizza delivery place that will come right to your doorstep. We will definitely be renting from Elaine again. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Perfect lakefront location

I have to begin by stating that Elaine was very responsive and accommodating throughout the booking process and our actual stay. Her home is inviting with plenty of natural light and lake views from just about every window of the house. The expansive deck/dock is built directly from the home to the water. There is plenty of comfortable, well-maintained outdoor furniture, a large gas grill, and a gas fire pit. My 3 daughters ages 7, 12, and 13 found the kids kayaks were a fabulous plus!! My husband and I were able to join them on the lake in the canoe and the adult kayak each day. Life jackets and paddles are clean and stored neatly in the shed. There are other homes on the lake, only about half of which were occupied during our stay. I should note that the people we came in brief contact with were friendly, waving and exchanging pleasantries. That being said, the location still feels quiet and secluded. We brought our floats from home (although there were plenty inflated in the shed) and spent lots of time swimming and relaxing in the water. We also had our fishing rods with us, and caught an array of decent sized sunfish, a few bass and the occasional small trout. The kitchen is well stocked and the bathrooms clean. Bed linens and bath towels are provided as well. Groceries are just 15 minutes away in Hancock Village. I cannot wait to book Elaine and Jason's home again for a longer stay next summer!!

Excellent Vacation

We had a great family vacation at the house: 3 kids aged 6 and 5 and 4 adults. The house was clean, kitchen stocked with plates/cookware and clean linens. We spent all day by the lake and lit a fire every night to make smores. Small lake community, isolated in the Catskills. Peaceful, beautiful lake. Rental process was easy and straightforward.

Best 4th of July ever!

Great family vacation We had such an amazing time at the house. The property was really easy to find and the view was amazing. The house was really clean and it has everything you need, its home away from home. The best part of the vacation was waking up in the morning and having breakfest right on the deck overlooking the beautiful lake, and enjoying the quietness of the mountains. The house has a great fire pit which we spent most of our nitghs making smores and enjoying each other's companies. My 3 year old had a great time playing on the deck and fishing. Thanks to Elaine and Jason for making everything so easy throughout the whole rental process. We will definitely be back.
