We loved it here! Couldn't have asked for better accommodation or a nicer, friendlier host! The house was exactly as pictured - very clean and cosy and had everything we needed - including a welcome bowl of fresh fruit and bottle of wine. The rooftop ocean-view terrace was the icing on the cake. It was ideal being on the "quiet side" of town, but just steps to fabulous restaurants and the stunning streets and alleyways of the old town. Dimos was an extremely gracious host, answering our questions, recommending places to go, and arranging airport pickup and drop-off. We hope to be back one day. Highly recommend.

Casa Sabbionara is the perfect place to relax, and a great location in the heart of the Venetian Harbor. Our host recommended some great restaurants and places to visit. The house is incredible - every floor just gets more amazing. The fourth floor has a wonderful view of the sea, we spent many happy hours there.

Die Unterkunft befindet sich quasi direkt in der Altstadt - max 10 Gehminuten von allen Attraktionen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und kulinarischen SpezialitÀten.Ich habe die Zentrale Lage sehr genossen und konnte auf der Terrasse hervorragend arbeiten.

Amazing Stay

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here and we enjoyed it this time just as much as the first time. The location is fantastic and communication with Dimos is great! He would periodically check on us throughout our stay. Don’t hesitate book this place!

Best Place right near the water front

We have been the Chania now twice. This place had the perfect location. Easy access to old town, restaurants, shops, beach. Easy check in. Very responsive host that greeted us with wine , raki, fruits and showed us how to use the apartment. The place was spotless with a housekeeper that came cleaned and restock towels! Beautiful view from the roof top. Checkout was a breeze. Highly reommend staying here.

Quiet, Convenient and Charming

The house is lovely and the view from the comfortably outfitted terrace wonderful. Dimos is a most gracious and helpful host. The location is next to the waterfront in old town yet on a quiet street. There are stairs between floors but the entrance door is at ground level. I will be coming back.

Amazing Villa immaculately clean with private roof top and views of the ocean. We were greeted by the owner who is so helpful with everything. Centrally located and surrounded by Tavernas serving great food. I'll be back!!

Relaxing stay in Chania

An excellent comfortable house to stay in, at the quieter end of the Old Town. Our host, Dimos, was charming and very helpful, with our late arrival, parking and recommendations for good places to eat. The house is on 4 floors. The terrace at the top was a great place place to relax.

Perfect location!

Beautiful roof terrace, ideal location, quiet, comfortable, and a host who communicates very well. Would be happy to return. Stairs could present a challenge for some (36 between bedroom and bathroom), but the listing was completely transparent and it was not a problem for us.

Great location, helpful host

This queint old house has all the modern amenities and situated on the edge of the Old Town: steps away from the harbor, ountless restaurants and shops, the lighthouse, yet away from the noisy heavy traffic areas. The roof top terrace is the best resting place after the day of walking around. The host was very responsive to all my questions and requests. VRBO w/conveniences of cleaning and concierge services, the best of the two worlds!

Perfect

Dimos is an excellent host. The apartment speaks for itself. It is perfectly located in Old Town with fish taverns just outside. We used this as a base and explored as far as Knossos. We had another great day driving to Plakius and back. Every day trip ended with a great evening, snacking in tavernas and wandering through the narrow streets of Chania until we ended back to a beautiful apartment.

Great house in fab location!

We loved staying here. House is very well appointed and very comfortable. Townhouse over 3 floors with a fantastic roof terrace which has great views over the harbour and up to the mountains. Location is fantastic - right in the marina side of the harbour. Fab restaurants and beautiful chania old town right on the doorstep. Parking can be found close by in either car park or street. We’d definitely stay again!

What a great place to stay in Chania

Casa Sabbionara is in Chania Old Town and walking distance to everything. It is a beautifully restored building, elegant, and true to its historic heritage, but with all modern amenities. The highlight of our stay, however, was the host. Always responsive, Dimosthenis went over and above in helping us out, even arranged transportation to the airport. Thank you!

Just Perfect!!!

The communications with Dimos were so easy and he was there to introduce us to Casa Sabbionara on arrival. This property is spotless and so very comfortable!! Everything we needed had been thought of. It was pretty hot when we were there but the property is beautifully air conditioned throughout. The terrace area is the icing on the cake!! We spent most afternoons enjoying a glass of wine and admiring the view whilst enjoying the very welcome shade and luxuriating on the lovely corner sofa with some soft music playing...heaven! Dimos had thoughtfully provided a welcome bottle of wine, fresh fruit and some raki for us to try, as well as some bottles of water and soft drinks to see us through the first night. The house is literally a 2 minute walk from the harbour area where you will find an array of restaurants and bars. You will have so much delicious food to choose from. Everything is very reasonable and top top quality. The harbour is buzzy in a good way - no trouble just lots of people happy and smiling...after all whats not to like! This is heaven and Casa Sabbionara is the place to enjoy it to its fullest. We loved it!!

Amazing Place!!!

Casa Sabbionara has been one of the most wonderful places I’ve stayed at. It was located in my opinion the best area of Chania, with charming streets/alleys and restaurants within a 1-2 minute walk. Dimos was very attentive in helping us with whatever we needed. He even came back to let us back in when we locked our keys in the place when we were leaving! My husband and I stayed for 6 nights and it wasn’t enough! Thank you for the wonderful stay!!!

Stairways to Heaven

The upper outdoor balcony was fantastic. When we were at the house, that is where we spent our time reading and eating. The location is perfect, walking distance to great restaurants....small beaches....and the lighthouse!!! Dimos is very attentive and patient will all our questions. Each room is on a different level which makes it unique. Very comfortable bed, hot showers, we loved it!!!!! The bathroom is on the main level and the bedroom is on the 3rd level. The large outdoor space with a view to the sea makes it all worthwhile and we would definitely stay here again!!!!

Can’t beat the location!

Loved this location, slightly away from the main tourist throng, but so close to the harbour and action. Great restaurants close by and the host was lovely, providing us with lots of recommendations for activities and restaurants. Location is exactly as pictured!

EXCELLENT LOCATION, SPOTLESSLY CLEAN, WELL SERVICED

The entire process from booking to arriving to leaving was faultless. Dimos was there every step of the way, guiding and advising us and was there to greet us. The accom is as it is in the photos. It's beautifully located of you prefer peace and quiet and it's only a short walk into the centre of town. We LOVED that aspect - it was private and quiet. One thing to note, though, is if you have mobility issues, the accom is spread over 4 stories with the bedroom being on the 3rd floor (up to flights of timber spiral stairs) and the bathroom/toilet is on the ground floor. Not a terrible issue for us but could be a nuisance for middle-of-the-night toilet visits. Other than that, we rate this 5 out of 5 and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
