Podere Le Monache situé sur une colline domine l'un des paysages les plus pittoresques et les plus spectaculaires de la Toscane. Que vous soyez farniente à la piscine ou se promener dans l'oliveraie ou simplement se détendre dans votre appartement, vous êtes dans un autre monde. Récemment restauré et converti à partir d'une ferme en quatre appartements de charme. Parfait pour petite ou grande location de vacances en famille.
Un grand soin a été pris pour restaurer toutes les caractéristiques d'origine, y compris des plafonds voûtés, une cheminée et des poutres apparentes. Pendant ce temps, toutes les commodités modernes ont été incorporés.

Beautiful area but remote location

We stayed at this property for two weeks in September 2023. We stayed in the 3 bdr appt with friends of ours. The main draw for us was the central location in Tuscany where we could base our stay. The area is beautiful but the apartment and location have some drawbacks. Pros: The town of Iano is quaint, quiet and with very nice people. The restaurant and local small market were great with very friendly people. The surrounding area is picturesque and beautiful. Cons: The main cons for us was how remote the property was. Getting to and from the unit involved driving through several last miles of very windy and narrow mountain roads. This was a challenge at night when returning home. The unit was also smaller than the pictures or descriptions. While it had the three bedrooms, the kitchen was small and the sitting/living room was upstairs and had a low ceiling which made it a challenge to use. A couple of items that really surprised us and we’re frustrating we’re the air conditioning and the clothes washer. We were told the unit had air conditioning but it was only a single unit in the kitchen area that did not cool the bedrooms. We were also very surprised to find out that we had to pay for the use of the air conditioner separately from our booking. That was not disclosed on the listing. We were also told that there was laundry in the grounds. There was a single washer for all of the units and no dryer. We were really surprised to find out that we had to pay for laundry.

Thank you for taking the time to write the review. You and your friends were pleasant and polite guests. In answer to some of your comments I would like to add that I have been renting the property for over 20 years and I describe as it is, we have an historical building over 100 years old restored with modern comforts. I outline clearly that we are in the countryside and the distances from the major Cultural Historical Cities and Towns in Tuscany We have a laundry service, a company that supplies us with sterilized white linen on a weekly basis.(Sheets, pillow cases,bath towels, face towels, tea towels.) All Linen is provided and changed weekly this is all included in the rental charge. We have a laundry room with an automatic washing machine, detergent, fabric softener and clothes baskets for the use of our guests. There is a small charge for this service with an honesty box and it is up to the guests. No Electric Dryer. I have not had any complaints for the air conditioning from any of the previous guests, this year or in the past years. When installing air conditioning units we have to take in consideration the noise level not only for other people that are in the building but also for the wild life around us. We have free standing fans if guests feel they require them. We are a self-catering not a hotel, we are in the countryside in one of the most beautiful areas in the heart of the cultural heart of Tuscany. Within 1 hour from Siena, Florence and Pisa, and less than 30 minutes from San Gimignano, Volterra , Certaldo and San Miniato. Our Location is in the hills not the mountains of Tuscany. Away from motorways and major roads without air, noise, and light pollution. It is for those that want to visit our Cultural Historical centres but that also love peace, walking, riding, hiking, trekking, biking and enjoy nature. I offer air-conditioning but it is not included in the price, it has become a luxury in our part of the world with the increase of fuel the past 2 years. Electricity and gas are imported into Italy and are very expensive. Thank you again for choosing our house Liliana

Sehr schöne Wohnung in einer traumhaften Umgebung

Wir haben den Aufenthalt als 4-köpfige Familie mit 2 Teenagern sehr genossen. Der Blick von der Terasse über das Tal am morgen ist wirklich wundervoll. Der Pool ist geräumig und obwohl man ihn mit anderen Gästen teilt, hatten wir genug Gelegenheit, ihn ganz allein für uns zu benutzen. Dem Haus merkt man an, dass es schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel hat. Wer also besonders viel wert auf tadellose Sanitäranlagen legt, sollte es sich nochmal überlegen. Für uns war es aber ok. Was im Inserat zum Zeitpunkt unserer Buchung nicht vermerkt wurde, ist, dass der Strom beim Check-out separat abgerechnet wird. Die Nutzung der Klimaanlage ist hier der entscheidende Faktor. Es gibt nur ein Klimagerät in der zentral gelegenen Küche. An sehr heißen Tagen muss sie ununterbrochen laufen, wenn man möchte, dass auch die anderen Zimmer etwas davon abbekommen. Die Einrichtung der Wohnung ist authentisch und hat ihren Charme. In der Umgebung gibt es einige sehr schöne Dörfer mit guten Restaurants zu erschwinglichen Preisen. Pisa, Florenz, der Strand sind in ungefähr einer Stunde zu erreichen. Sie kurvigen Fahrten durch die malerische Landschaft machen aber auch Spaß!

However I would like to outline that electricity is included in the price, air conditioning and cental heating is paid separately this is stated in the property details as our rental price is very affordable . Le Monache dates back to 11th Century so it is very old, we have restored it but we have not altered the original features, beams the tile ceilings which are the main features of the building. We have a professional cleaning company that cleans after every change over and everything is sterilized in the apartments, The linen is sanitezed and and beds for every arrival. Die Location kannten wir von unserem ersten Besuch im August 2019. Bis auf die liebevoll bereitgestellten Erzeugnisse aus dem Garten der Verwalterin, die pandemiebedingt fehlten, war alles so angenehm und nett wie beim ersten Mal.

Toller Urlaub!

Eine wundervolle Anlage mit unbezahlbarem Blick in die Weite der Toskana. Unsere Wohnung war sauber und gut eingerichtet, die Betten super. Sogar ein Grill ist vorhanden! Handtücher, auch für den Pool (ganz wunderbar mit Liegen und Sitzgruppen...) wurden gestellt. Man konnte hauseigenen Wein, Olivenöl, selbstgemachte Tomatensauce und viele Dinge des tägl. Bedarfs kaufen, oder in den kleinen, feinen Supermarkt gegenüber gehen. Die Vermieterin und ihre Familie waren oft vor Ort, haben nach dem Rechten geschaut und waren immer freundlich und offen für ein Gespräch. Täglich gab es frisches Obst und Gemüse (gratis!!!) in den Körben neben der Bar. Elisabetta and family thanks for having us such a great time in the tuscany!

We have an excellent restaurant walking distance, where you can enjoy a meal and a glass of wine without having to drive. The small shop/deli offers an excellent choise of local products and fresh fruit and dairy. They have a delivery of fresh bread and croissants every morning. The Castelfalfi Resort is less than 10 minutes with golf course and adventure park for children starting from the age of 3. . Stables and bicecycle rental are also nearby.
The place to be for art enthusiast, gourmet cuisine ,wine enthusiasts and outdoor activities.
