Gîte de luxe près du Loir, réseau cyclable, châteaux et région viticole

Bienvenue dans notre gîte, une propriété magnifiquement restaurée datant de 200 ans qui a été conçue pour associer un décor intérieur moderne à des caractéristiques d'origine. La rénovation a été achevée à un niveau exceptionnel et a fait l'objet d'un article complet dans le magazine Living France.

La propriété est située dans un hameau calme et relaxant à 1,5 km du village de Vaas et de la rivière
Le Loir. La petite ville animée de Château du Loir, facilement accessible, regorge de fabuleux magasins, cafés et restaurants, ainsi que du fantastique marché du samedi.

L’autoroute principale A28 se trouve à seulement 6 km, ce qui permet d’accéder facilement aux ports du canal (2 heures) et au tunnel (4 h 5). L’aéroport de Tours est facilement accessible en 40 minutes.

La région est riche en histoire et regorge de vergers de pommiers, de champs de maïs et de tournesols. Le réseau de pistes cyclables du Loir se trouve à seulement 50 mètres de l'établissement. Il constitue un moyen fantastique d'explorer la région. La propriété offre un accès facile aux célèbres châteaux, le plus proche étant à seulement 13 km, au Lude. Les amateurs de vin pourront déguster les vins de Loire de renommée mondiale, du Muscadet dans le Weat à Sancerre, à l’est de la vallée de la Loire. Les vignobles les plus proches à Bourgueil, Tourraine, Vouvray et Jasnières sont tous facilement accessibles.

Le gîte est situé à égale distance des villes fascinantes de Tours et du Mans, qui offrent toutes deux des liaisons TGV directes vers Paris en moins de 60 minutes.

Le grand jardin à l’arrière est un véritable piège à soleil. Des chaises, une table de patio et un barbecue permettront aux clients de profiter du temps magnifique qui règne dans la région.

We enjoyed two very relaxing weeks in this lovely well-equipped gite. It's in a quiet unspoilt location, ideally situated for visiting the various nearby chateaux and small towns.

We spent a very enjoyable and relaxing week in this comfortable gite. It was well equipped with a large, lovely garden, which was perfect for us and our dog. The gite is ideally situated in a quiet hamlet, 15 minutes walk from the nearest small town, which has a good shop and a couple of friendly bars, restaurant and boulangerie. There are several interesting towns and smaller chateaux within 15 to 30 minutes drive. Overall an excellent base from which to explore the wider Loire region. Also a perfect location for those keen on cycling, running and fishing. Our host, Alex was very friendly and accommodating.

Just returned from a great week spent in this stunning Gite.Was welcomed personally by Alex and Andy and a nice welcome gift was left including treats for our dog Every thing you can possibly want on holiday was there including a comfortable bed The outside area is private and enclosed perfect for relaxing and great for our dog although she did get spoilt with love from our hosts and kept sneaking to them The gite is in a quiet location but within a short drive there are many places to visit Including vineyards and chateaux Thankyou we will be recommending you to family and friends Sue,Steve and Sky

Un lieu enchanteur

La maison se trouve dans un lieu calme et agréable. L'intérieur est très propre, très bien équipé et très confortable. Le séjour ouvre sur un jardin clos, entretenu, véritable havre de paix. Les rosiers étaient en fleurs et il était vraiment très agréable de rester à l'extérieur, à tout moment de la journée. Les hôtes, que nous avons seulement croisés, nous avaient donné toutes les instructions utiles pour passer un bon séjour. Pour qui veut se reposer à la campagne, et découvrir facilement la région, c'est le lieu idéal.

Alles prima. Alex ist eine super nette und hilfsbereite Gastberin, wenngleich der Kontakt ausschließlich über Nachrichten erfolgte. Das 2006 rekontruierte und seinerzeit eingerichtete Haus bietet die für heutige Zeit angemessene Ausstattung. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Super ausgestattete Küche!

Rural location, no wifi, poor 4g and ok 3g coverage....exactly what we were looking for. Village is in poor repair, there is nothing in it...but this is exactly as described. Local towns, supermarkets etc within 15-20 minute drive.

Location location location.

First time taking the car to France we were very lucky to have chosen this fantastic gite. Very pretty, comfortable and well equipped. South facing garden was an added bonus. A short walk from the village and an easy drive to major supermarkets. Great location for day trips including Tours and Le Mons. To top this all off we had the perfect host in Alex.

Erholung pur

Schönes Ferienhäuschen in absolut ruhiger und ländlicher Lage mit großem Gartengrundstück zum Verweilen und Entspannen. Sehr nette Vermieter, die das Ferienhaus mit umfangreichen Informationsmaterial über die touristischen Ziele in der Umgebung und die zahlreichen Fahrradwege in der Umgebung ausgestattet haben und selbst auch noch zahlreiche Tips geben können. Von dort aus kann man an der kleinen Loir ( Le Loir ) auf sehr schönen Fahrradwegen oder wenig befahrenen Straßen die Umgebung erkunden oder man mit dem Auto zu den bekannten Schlössern der großen Loire ( la Loire ) fahren. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die tollen Gärten des Schlosses Villandry. Auch die größeren Städte Tour und Le Mans haben attraktive Altstädte, die es zu besichtigen lohnt. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohlgefühlt und uns wunderbar erholen können.

Beautiful Gite in a fantastic setting

Myself and my partner had a lovely stay in this Gite, it was immaculately maintained and had a beautiful garden that we could use. It is very peaceful and the location is perfect for wine lovers with a number of vineyards locally. Hosts were very helpful and gave good advice about the local area and places to visit. We visited Chateau's that were just a short distance away. There really is so much to see in this beautiful area. We can't wait to return again.

Lovely Gite in a beautiful area of France

We have enjoyed a wonderful week in the peaceful area of the Loir. La Petite Cachette was exactly as we imagined from the description of the property when we booked. The Gite is an old piggery which has been beautifully converted into an attractive holiday home. Inside the Gite the décor is clean and modern, it is well equipped and has everything you need, and more for a holiday. The large garden outside is perfect for relaxing during the day or enjoying a BBQ and glass of wine in the evening. The many and varied animal sounds remind you that you are in a rural setting. The house is situated in Les Halles which is a small hamlet a mile or so from the local town of Vaas where there are a few small shops and a pretty riverside to explore. It is also about twenty minutes from an enormous supermarket in Chateau du Loir. The location is perfect for exploring the many wonderful sights of the Loir and Loire areas. Our highlights were La Lude and La Fleche to the west, Vendome to the East and the lovely town of Saumur (great wine tasting area) in the South. Each of these towns were extremely pretty and full of character, and a plus for us was that they were not as busy/touristy as some larger towns on the Loire. The Gite is also well situated for Le Mans. Overall it was a great place for a holiday. Huge thanks to Alex and Andy who were great hosts, gave us lots of tips and information on the area and also tried very hard to befriend our grumpy dog, Daisy.

A well appointed gite in peaceful surroundings

Our stay was just what we needed; a peaceful refuge from the stresses of everyday life. The gite was spotlessly clean, and contained every conceivable aid for cooking, relaxing, and navigating around the area. Best of all was sitting in the garden watching the wildlife, from mini murmurations of starlings and the flocks of chattering sparrows, to the antics of a vole gathering food and a surprise attack from a sparrow hawk. We loved the Chateau at Langeais, and the opportunities for wine tasting along the Loire We would like to return next year, and stay for longer!

Great property in a quite location. Perfect get away for two.

Had a lovely time in this beautifully prepared Gite. Huge garden with sun all day and early evening perfect for eating and drinking on the patio. English Satellite TV, if you want it. Great coffee machine, good pressure in the shower and a very sleepy village location all make for a restful haven. Explored the area on road bikes for a week - hardly any traffic on the well maintained country lanes with beautiful countryside in all directions. Would recommend this place for a couple to have a bit of an escape for a week. Nearest shop about 1KM away sells bread, milk, veg, etc - supermarkets about 20 minutes away by car. We got minimal phone coverage whilst in the garden (nothing inside).

Peaceful, comfortable and totally relaxing

The property is easy to find, immaculately clean, comfortable and well equipped. The only downside was that there was NO WIFI which was really inconvenient but didn't detract from the accommodation as a whole. We arrived to find green woodpeckers in the garden and woke to the sound of cuckoos in a nearby wood! In the evening we sat out in the garden which was south facing, peaceful and sheltered. The location is good for visiting the area as its only five minutes to the A28 which runs straight into Tours one way and Le Mans the other. The bed was comfy, there was English TV and we loved the choice of DVD's and CD's. This was the last leg of our 2 week car tour of France and was by far the nicest accommodation we stayed in - will recommend it to friends and family and would definitely stay here again (especially if wifi is installed!!)

Excellent stay

Property was immaculate and everything exactly as described. Heating was on and working efficiently on arrival and plenty of hot water too, though weather was pretty good for March. Had a relaxing time in a quiet corner of France - and an excellent spot to visit Le Mans, Saumur and Loire attractions (plenty of chateaux - Villandry was really good). Very happy with our stay.

Short break in well equipped gite

A lovely gite tastefully restored with everything you would need. Ou r only complaint is that arriving after a long journey we were welcomed by a cold gite with no heating on for us, no hot water and no gas so we were unable to make a hot drink as there was no electric kettle. Fortunately Trevor came to the rescue for which we are very grateful. He owners should realise that the weather in the Loir at the beginning of March is not as it us in the summer.

Diane, thank you for the feedback, we will learn from this. We're in our first year running the gite rental business, we're clearly not perfect, we will make sure the gas is checked on a regular basis to avoid a repeat in the future. We aren't always nearby, hence asking our good friend Trevor to assist with any issues. I'm pleased to hear he was able to get the new gas bottle fitted, hopefully you were able to enjoy the rest of your stay. We love this part of a France and have been enjoying holidays to the region over many years. The opportunity to buy a second property was eventually realised, we just wish we'd done it sooner!

We live in the Cotswolds, I am a fitness instructor and personal trainer, my husband is a Commercial Director.

We fell in love with it, it's beautiful, it makes us smile when we sit at home in the UK, we always have such amazing times when we get to visit, it's our very own part of France and we love every part of it.

This part of France is such a hidden gem, wonderful weather, very traditional, not too touristy and not too long a drive.

Unlike a number of British owned gites, we have not furnished it with old items from the UK. Hopefully the photographs show the modern and bright coordinated look we have adopted - we hope you like it!

The area is so rich in interesting places to visit, it feels timeless, the locals are friendly, we can properly switch off.
