We are deeply sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. The property has been in the family for more than 45 years. The only reason we rent it is that it costs a fortune to maintain a villa on the front line. Our approach has been to try and make our guests happy, as the family and friends who stay with us. The furniture and decoration we have chosen are those of a family house, not the minimum that does the job. In return we expect our guests to take good care of the villa and pay respect to the neighbors and to environment as we do. As such we often go out of our way to satisfy guests’ requests that could be answered through Google or enquiries to the tourist information. In your case finding boat rental companies, finding a supermarket with home delivery, finding a chef to cook for a paella at home whereas Mallorca is dramatically short of manpower during the touristic season, … which we gladly and successfully did. To the problems: AC: it is correct to say the problem unfortunately could not be solved during the stay despite our best effort: our handyman came immediately to try and address the issue. It then took a few days before an AC specialist would come; he could not repair on the spot. And there is a long delay for the spare part as there was no stock in the island. As such we bought mobile AC as an interim solution but it could not be delivered before the end of the stay. Refrigerator: it had been unplugged for the cleaning between guests. It was working initially as the chef could see when it cooked the paella at the villa. It broke thereafter. We first had our handyman fully defrosting it. As the fridge would not get back to work thereafter we immediately ordered a new fridge which was in place for the next guests. Bad luck or bad use of the appliance ? We have our doubts as, when our handyman went to the villa in an effort to make the fridge work, he found the villa with all external doors unlocked, and the AC working although there was nobody in. Communications: It is true that the communication became somewhat emotional from this point onwards. We apologize for that. It has to be said too that, in addition to the above issues, the way your party addressed the person in charge of the villa and offered to tickle her and to massages her got her scared to the point she no longer wanted to come to the villa while your group of friends was there. While we understand you did not like some of our comments although they were factual, we are naturally disappointed that your experience does not recognize the villa itself nor the facts we did our best efforts to meet your requests prior to the stay, and during the stay when issues were coming up, and that we eventually did not retain any money on the deposit although it is highly probable that at least the fridge breakdown came from an improper use. The other lesson we are drawing from this is that we will have only families going forward as this is primarily a family villa.
