Oyster Barn, anciennement un hangar Ă  huĂźtres (d'oĂč le nom) est une ancienne grange de conversion contemporaine situĂ©e sur la cĂŽte Ă  Titchwell. Depuis la plate-forme de la propriĂ©tĂ©, on peut admirer une vue imprenable sur le marais jusqu'Ă  la mer, notamment Ă  travers le tĂ©lescope! Marsh Harriers sont frĂ©quemment vus ici. Asseyez-vous et observez la faune dans les roseliĂšres de la rĂ©serve de la RSPB ou promenez-vous le long de Gypsy Lane jusqu'Ă  la plage et admirez les phoques de Titchwell Creek.

La grange est extrĂȘmement spacieuse et trĂšs confortable avec beaucoup d'espace pour les familles. Titchwell Manor, l'un des meilleurs Ă©tablissements de restauration de North Norfolk, se trouve juste Ă  cĂŽtĂ© et l'hĂŽtel et le restaurant Briarfields se trouvent Ă  quelques minutes de marche. C'est une base idĂ©ale pour profiter de tout ce que cette belle partie du nord-ouest de Norfolk a Ă  offrir.

A lovely stay!

We had a wonderful time staying at this idyllic barn in a beautiful location. After a few early hiccups, the owners were incredibly helpful and made sure our stay was everything it should have been.

spacious, comfortable, warm, well equipped. Ten of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Was lovely and warm when we arrived, used the log burner to boost the heat in the evenings. All furnishings and equipment were first class, everything we needed was there. Loads of space, there were 10 of us including children who were able to do their own thing and not be on top of each other. We were able to park 4 cars in the yard. This part of Norfolk we have visited before, lovely and peaceful, great area for long walks, lovely and relaxing.

Excellent family place to stay

Oyster barn provides an excellent place for a group or family stay- we were very comfortable and there is lots of space and everything you could need. The weather was cold and often rainy but the house is cosy , warm and welcoming. Very nice bathrooms, comfy beds and of course the great viewing platform from which we watched seals and birds whilst having our early morning coffee. It is a lovely touch to have a welcome hamper to greet guests and find everything we needed to light the fire in the evenings. We drove over from our house in france and it was so nice to find a lovely place waiting for us after our long journey. The whole family would love to come back and I noticed in the guest book that many people do indeed return again and again- what better recommendation!

Long weekend stay

Lovely big house located 10 mins from the beach. Nice and quiet too! In between two hotels / bars. Not sure about the viewing platform from the kitchen though! This looks like a death trap and so would say not suitable for young children.

A very comfortable cottage in a wonderful location.

We stayed in Oyster Barn for Easter with my family of 8. I choose the property because of its location and the upper viewing platform overlooking the sea and marshes. We have 2 very keen bird watchers in the family and my husband was in the Titchwell nature reserve early every morning. The cottage is very comfortable, it had all we needed and possibly more than expected. We played cards in the evening round the large dining room table and chilled in the beautiful living room. Plenty of seats for everybody. Cooking on the Aga proved to be a little bit of a challenge for us, but we managed and actually it was quite an experience. The area ofcourse is beautiful. Long deserted beaches along the coast and plenty of quaint villages and cozy pubs. Besides many long walks, we also enjoyed The Lifeboat Inn, Shuck’s Yurt and Danish fashion at Nelle’s. All just down the road in Thornham.

Boasting original features. Extremely well-equipped, complete with an electric Everhot cooker featuring temperature control and induction hob, dishwasher, two fridges, freezer, food processor, cafetiere, and tiled flooring. Small round table and chairs. Steps down to:

Large oak table seating eight guests. French doors to outside patio area. Solid oak flooring with underfloor heating.
Ladder to viewing platform
No doubt this is the star of the show. An oak ladder takes you to the viewing platform (Use at own risk, note this is not suitable for younger children) giving you incredible views over the marshes to the sea. Sit and watch birds or sunset, or read whilst taking in the surroundings. Binoculars and lots of nature/wildlife books provided.
Utility room
Washing machine, tumble dryer, drying rack, sink, microwave, fridge and freezer. Very well-equipped and an ideal space for drying walking clothes, wet suits etc.
Cloakroom
With WC and wash basin.
Sitting room
Large and spacious room with solid oak flooring, wood burning stove, comfortable sofas and armchair, flatscreen Smart television with DVD player and Freeview. Hifi system with an iPod docking station. Good selection of books and games.
Ground floor master bedroom
Elegant room with super-king sized bed, built in wardrobe. Television and chaise longue.
En-suite bathroom
Fully tiled, lovely contemporary bath suite with shower over. Wash basin and WC.

First Floor:

Double bed and built in wardrobe.

With bath and shower over, WC and wash basin.
Bedroom three
Super-king size bed, built in cupboard. Fabulous views over the marshes to the sea.

To the front is a private paved patio area and lawn. Gas barbecue provided.
Additional grassed area to the west side of the property.
To the rear, there is a pretty sunny courtyard and charcoal barbecue. Ample car parking space.
Bikes and paddle boards can be stored securely in the gated courtyard.
