Ce cottage unique et indépendant, construit dans les années 1500, est doté d'une tour d'observation offrant une vue fantastique sur la côte à perte de vue sur le port de Wells. Parfait pour ceux qui veulent un endroit très spécial dans un endroit fantastique à quelques minutes du port et des plages.

St Michael’s Cottage est une ancienne maison de commerçant construite sur quatre étages et construite en silex et en brique et datant du XVIe siècle. Plein de caractère, il possède une tour de guet au quatrième étage qui offre une vue fantastique sur le ruisseau East Fleet, le port, les marais et la mer au-delà. Avec un télescope / des jumelles fournies, il s'agit d'un espace idéal pour admirer les superbes vues sur la côte pendant la journée, ainsi que pour l'observation des étoiles la nuit. Ce magnifique cottage décoré dans une palette neutre est situé sur une rue sans issue calme, en plein cœur de Wells-next-the-Sea, dans l'une des ruelles étroites qui descendent vers le quai. parking pour une voiture et son propre jardin ensoleillé orienté au sud avec un coin barbecue.

Entrez dans ce chalet enchanteur et vous trouverez deux raides escaliers en colimaçon de Norfolk de chaque côté de la maison, un salon avec poêle à bois, quatre somptueuses chambres à coucher, une salle de douche et deux salles de bains. Au troisième étage, vous trouverez une salle de télévision qui fait également office de cinquième chambre à coucher et permet d’agrandir le logement à 10 en utilisant le canapé-lit. Une cuisine / salle à manger conviviale située au rez-de-chaussée offre l’occasion de savourer une bonne cuisine tout en évoquant les événements de la journée. La chambre principale est magnifique et construite dans le loft à la voile converti, qui a un superbe plafond aux poutres apparentes et des murs en briques apparentes qui donne un vrai sens de l'histoire de la maison. Maintenant magnifiquement r��novée, St Michael’s Cottage offre une vie décontractée mais élégante et constitue une fantastique maison de vacances originale et pleine de caractère. Convient pour les familles et les amis, il est idéal pour un court séjour ou un séjour plus long.

Wonderful cottage, great location

We spent a week at St. Michaels and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect, the cottage was perfect. Everything is right on your doorstep.

Beautiful house in the perfect location

St Michael's Cottage is an absolutely beautiful house steeped in history. It has been beautifully renovated to include every facility you could possibly need on your holiday. The lookout at the top of the house gives the most stunning view across Wells and the TV room is perfect for anyone needing some quiet time. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the 3 bathrooms mean there are ample facilities even when the house is at full capacity. There are two very slight drawbacks to the property, the first being lack of free parking available and the second being the very steep stairs. There is a car park at the end of the street but you need to pay. The steep stairs are due to the property being of a certain period and therefore add to the character of the place. I would simply warn anyone who has mobility issues to consider staying here very carefully as every set of stairs is steep and there's nowhere to sleep on the bottom floor. Other than those two considerations, I'd highly recommend this beautiful house for a getaway. It's in the perfect location and provides a wonderful base for adventures to lots of wonderful locations around the local area.

A very well equipped and comfortable house. Baths and showers. Good for families or groups of friends. Eccentric staircases and great views over the marshes from the top floor. Walking for central Wells, and convenient for exploring the beautiful North Norfolk coast

Good and less good

Loved the house , the space , the situation . Felt it had not been given a ‘deep clean’ in preparation for our visit , needed in these COVID times . A few little maintenance issues , shower knobs , air extractors, mentioned at time . The iron proved burnt and unsafe ( tripped the whole house) …..the problem was immediately remedied by Norfolk Hideaways .Parking a challenge in the garage , not just by being tight and awkward ( not for the faint hearted) , but we kept being blocked in !Parking usually available in Maltings Car Park nearby.Would book again

We had a lovely week away staying at St Michael's Cottage. Ample room and very clean. Great location, not far from a lovely beach.

Beautiful, historic cottage in an ideal location

The cottage is beautifully decorated and very clean. It is spacious and well-equipped with lots of cleaning products etc. It is situated extremely close to the harbour, although down a back alley. The view from the lookout tower is really spectacular. However, the house is not really suitable for people with young children and anyone who might find stairs a challenge. The cottage dates back to 1595, so has extremely steep and winding stairs, which make it difficult to go up and down. It is quite dangerous for young children as there are no stair gates or doors to the stairs, in some cases. Our 4 year old son went flying down the stairs and it was hard carrying our toddler up and down them. Older children would no doubt find the house lots of fun, as the house is a bit of a maze! But, if you don't have pre-schoolers, the cottage is really lovely and has everything you might want. Wells is a lovely town and you are only minutes from lots of nice places to eat and things to do.

Nice central location but white vans parked outside our front door everyday. High chair dirty.

A little bit underwhelming and website picture of property does not tell full story as you are effectively on a back road with bins outside full of old fish and chips. Nice courtyard and bbq for relaxing but stairs are very difficult for small children. High chair mouldy and cot not assembled for our arrival. Nicely decorated inside and bedrooms very comfortable.

This relaxed room comes with underfloor heating and built-in electric oven, electric hob, fridge with icebox, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine, microwave, extendable dining table with pew and chairs which will seat 10. Steps up to utility area.
Utility area
With washing machine and freezer.
Shower room
With shower cubicle, wash basin and WC.

First Floor:
Bedroom three
With a 4'6'' double bed.
Bedroom two
With two 3' full-size single beds.
Family bathroom
With a bath and hand-held shower attachment, separate shower cubicle, wash basin and WC.

Second Floor:
Master bedroom
With a 5' king-size bed, comfortable sofa and characterful beams throughout.
Bedroom four
With two 2'6” beds and one 3' full-size single bed, please note that this bedroom is accessed from either bedroom two on the floor below or bedroom three.
Family 'Jack & Jill' bathroom
With bath and hand-held shower attachment, wash basin and WC.

Third Floor:
Television room/bedroom five
Accessed from the landing staircase outside bedroom four, with comfortable seating, bean bags and smart television.

Fourth Floor:
Lookout tower
Accessed from the third floor sitting room with stools and small desk area, under-sill lighting and telescope and/or binoculars to appreciate the wonderful sea views across the rooftops to the sea.

Outside:
Sunny south facing enclosed paved courtyard with borders, gas barbecue, table and chairs for al fresco dining.
Designated parking for one small to medium car in the garage (maximum length:448cm width: 170cm), or several bicycles. Vehicles may obstruct the entrance in busy periods, but will move on polite demand.
Additional roadside and public car parking is available on the Quay and off Freeman Street, just a few minutes' walk away. Out of season from October-Easter, parking restrictions are not enforced.
