Our stay was great! The location is fantastic. Very quick to the underground, lots of choices for food and a beautiful park to walk through next to the flat. Our family of four were comfortable and appreciated having a kitchen and washer to use.

The home was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. PJ was gracious enough to give us a brief orientation to the place and made suggestions for meals, etc. It is extremely close to the Mile End underground so we didn't need a car to get around London. It was a lovely little place for my family.

Great short stay!

Had a great short stay at PJ’s flat. There was enough space for the 4 of us and we had all that we needed for some quick breakfasts before hitting the city. Online listing is all accurate and communication was great leading up to the rental.

We enjoyed our stay at Peter's place. It was close to the metro for easy access to attractions and had lots of shops and restaurants nearby which was very convenient. The space was comfortable with everything we needed. Peter was an excellent host. He was super helpful and always responded quickly to our inquiries. Accommodations were good value for money in the London area.

The apartment was great for a mini break in London. Our host Peter provided a lot of information ahead of time which was very helpful. He resolved promptly a small problem we advised him of on our first day. The apartment is extremely well equipped in terms of kitchen utensils and accessories (fantastic as we love cooking) and basic condiments (oil, vinegar, salt, etc) and the bathroom in terms of toiletries. It is conveniently located not far from supermarkets, restaurants and a tube station. The price is quite high being in London but worth it. This a great place that we would recommend, and would be happy to come back to next time we are in London

Short London stay

Great location to see the sites in London and some less touristy areas also. We enjoyed a beautiful walk to Hackney along the canal. Peter was very responsive and had some great local food recommendations. Highly recommended!

Great place for a family

The flat was affordable, close to the tube, and had everything we needed for an extended long weekend. Grocery stores were nearby, the kitchen was stocked with all the basics, and there was enough room for all of us. Communication with the owner was easy and quick and he was kind enough to let us leave our bags on the last day until our afternoon flight.

Comfortable and located in a convenient, lovely neighborhood. The host was very responsive and provided a fan for us when we realized there was no AC and it was 90+ degrees! Check in could be automated, but otherwise an excellent visit.

Good address to explore London

We felt very comfortable in Peter's house, the area offers good groceries shopping and is close to the subway station. There is a park nearby and you can walk from there to Victoria Park along the canal. We can recommend the accommodation and there are good transport connections to the city from Mile End.

Wonderful Stay!

We loved staying at Canal Close! It was so great to be able to walk along the canal to Victoria Park, enjoy the scenery on the way, and also be so centrally located to get anywhere so quickly by Tube. We appreciated watching the birds in the back garden in the mornings, the kitchen set up, and the two levels gave our teen a bit of her own space. PJ was super helpful and responsive. We would definitely recommend this property!!!!

London getaway

Close to the tube, parking a plus, quiet dead end street, owner communication good. Needs closer attention to cleaning and would prefer to have control of the thermostat. Overall good experience 🙂

The thermostat is completely controllable by guests. It's right next to the TV and pretty intuitive, but I also send guests full instructions on how to use it. Thanks for the feedback!

Great flat in a great location!

This flat was perfect for my family of 3. We had plenty of space and it's an easy walk to the underground station. Everything was clean and tidy, and the kitchen was very well stocked (more than we could have asked for!). The owner offers a smart tv with all the major services provided which was also quite nice. My only complaint about the property is that the neighbors were quite loud at night a few nights, but I don't know if they may also have been renters and not the normal habitants. All in all, we'd definitely rent this property again. It's a gem!

Some good, some not so good

First, let me cover the good. The location is close to the Tube and easy to get around. Before the trip the communication with PJ was great. He answered questions and provided an incredibly detailed check in and info sheet which was great. Upon arriving there were some issues. The front cover of his tub was broken and it appeared that it had tried to be fixed with tons of caulk, which didn't work. The slightest brush against the font of the tub caused the whole piece to fall down and we had to prop it up with a piece of tile. He had advertised a washing machine which was great, but upon checking in we found that there was no detergent so we had to go buy some. There is a refrigerator but no freezer. The refrigerator was also very tiny and unable to hold more than a couple bottles of water so if you plan on cooking, which we did, you'll find you'll need to buy groceries and use them immediately since you won't be able to store much. The description also showed that both sofas could be used for beds and showed pictures of them both made up with bedding. Upon checking in we found out there were no sheets or covers for one of the sofas. I immediately texted PJ about the bedding when we checked in on Dec 24 but never got a response back. I also asked about the tub front and never got a response back about that either. Not one response for the 3 days we were there. As a result, my son had to sleep on the bare sofa with no bedding. That and the total lack of communication during our stay is unacceptable.

Unfortunately this is not an accurate description of events. Kurt texted on the 24th to ask about laundry detergent (which I don't normally supply to guests), and about the freezer (which is not in the property description). There was no mention of bedding (which should have been in the wardrobe), nor of the bathtub. I replied to all of Kurt's messages immediately - to suggest there was a "total lack of communication" is false. I would of course have addressed those concerns immediately - but I did not receive a single text, call, email or whatsapp about the issues described here. Also I'm not quite sure what size of fridge was expected, but it's a normal, under-counter appliance, again as seen in the description and pictures.

Super emplacement !

Location très bien placée, tout près du métro. Peter nous a donné de bonnes adresses pour manger ou prendre un verre à proximité de la location (le pub" Rusty bike" est devenu notre endroit favori pour dîner ) Seul point négatif, mes enfants ont eu froid la nuit dans la pièce de vie ( pas de volets, juste rideaux occultants et simple vitrage) , le chauffage ne restait pas à la température souhaitée et nous n avons pas pu rectifier cela avec Peter( pas de réponse de sa part à ce sujet...) Je recommande malgré tout cette location, bon rapport qualité-prix

Parken und die Entfernung zur Stadt waren super. Gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Laufnähe. Allerdings war die Gegend selbst sehr lebhaft durch brüllende Nachbarschaft, Fluglärm und dubiose Gestalten in parkenden Autos. Wir waren zunächst irritiert da die Hausnummer im Internet eine andere war als tatsächlich. Aber ein kurzes Gespräch mit dem Host klärte die Lage. Peter war sofort erreichbar und hat viele Informationen sehr früh geschickt. Die Hilfsbereitschaft war klasse. Vom Haus selbst darf man nicht soviel erwarten, da es schon in die Jahre gekommen ist. Die Dusche war eine echte Challange. Die Ausstattung war gut. Das Haus ist gut geeignet für 3 Leute. Mit mehr Personen ist es sehr eng. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und würden jederzeit wieder kommen

Logement très bien placé, à 500m du métro en zone 2 (plusieurs lignes dont une directe de King's Cross), retiré de l'artère principale donc au calme, et avec tout le nécessaire pour passer un bon séjour.Le petit canal juste à proximité est agréable. Plusieurs supermarchés à proximité (saintsbury à 300m, Coop à 400m , Lidl à 1,2 km,...)La communication avec Peter a été parfaite et ses indications précises. Le logement n'est pas flambant neuf, mais est très confortable et parfait pour une famille de 3 ou 4 personnes. Nous y reviendrons !
