Style et confort - Bienvenue à The Bobbin

Ce charmant cottage classé Grade II (faisant partie d'un ancien moulin à bas) niché dans le pittoresque Peak District bénéficie d'être à seulement quelques pas du magasin du village, du salon de thé et de quelques pubs craquants! Faites du vélo sur le Monsal Trail ou promenez-vous dans le magnifique parc de Chatsworth House, les deux sont facilement accessibles et des vues magnifiques vous attendent. Une visite à la ville de marché voisine de Bakewell pour goûter le fameux Bakewell Pudding, est également un must! Notre objectif a été de faire de The Bobbin, un «chez soi» extrêmement confortable - profitez-en!

Le chalet est réparti sur trois étages et comprend:
Cuisine, salon avec coin repas, chambre double, chambre lits jumeaux et salle de bains familiale.

Il y a une cour commune à l'arrière, accessible depuis la cuisine avec table et chaises et deux dépendances, une pour la lessive et l'autre pour les vélos.

En ce qui concerne les enfants jouant à l'extérieur, veuillez noter qu'il n'y a pas de barrière pour fermer la cour.

De plus, l'escalier est raide et peut ne pas convenir aux très jeunes enfants, c'est-à-dire aux tout-petits et aux personnes âgées.

Accès invité:
Les clients peuvent se garer devant / près de la propriété et avoir accès par le côté droit du bâtiment et par la cuisine à la cour à l'arrière du chalet.

Le quartier:
Le Bobbin est parfaitement situé au coeur du village et idéal pour ceux avec et sans transport. Ashford in the Water est imprégné d'histoire et avec le Monsal Trail sur le pas de la porte, il y a beaucoup à voir et à faire. Vous pouvez profiter d'une journée pour visiter le joyau du Derbyshire, Chatsworth ou aller à Bakewell (le chien d'arrêt et le canard au bord de la rivière est un excellent endroit pour manger), puis à Haddon Hall. À proximité de la gare Hassop, vous trouverez également un merveilleux café, une librairie et une boutique de cadeaux avec location de vélos / vélos.

A beautiful cottage and area of the Peak District, for that perfect weekend trip away with friends and family. The cottage is so well maintained and very clean, with all the information needed on arrival. The owner Simon, greeted us and made sure we were happy with our booking. We would recommend a booking at The Bobbin cottage, for anyone to visit at any time of the year. We didn’t want to leave.

Little gem of a cottage in beautiful village

True to listing, this cottage is on three levels. It is thoughtfully decorated and comfortable with everything you could need. Pubs, walks and wonderful historic areas close by.We hope we can visit again !

Owner was super nice and helpful. Quiet and safe area with local culture vibes. Transportation is kinda limited after hours and stairs in the house was unexpected. Other than that overall stay was pretty comfortable and owner was very tentative and helpful with everything we needed.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Bobbin and just wish it were longer. The cottage is cosy and inviting, and it was our perfect home base to explore Derbyshire. Everything was clean, Simon was wonderfully communicative, and we loved the tip about going to the Ashford Arms for dinner. It was so good we went back the next night. We're already dreaming up an excuse to stay here again!

Lovely Peak District stay

We had a great time staying at the bobbin, which we found to be just as it was described and perfect for a weekend with friends. Ashford in the water is a lovely place, close to Bakewell and Chatsworth. There are lots of walks nearby and the pub round the corner does fantastic food. Owners were very friendly and helpful, would definitely like to return.

Cosy and comfortable

Only had 3 nights to enjoy the area, but provision of maps was very welcome and easy access for lovely countryside, especially biking on the Monsal Trail. Simon and Debs were most helpful with information and communication before our arrival and had easy control of the heating after unusual cold weather!

A quaint Little Cottage

Very central to the village of Ashford in the water. Local bus but not sure how often it is. Two Local pubs serving great food. Very clean and comfy beds. No problem parking in the street outside property. Overall a comfortable stay. VERY QUIET

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was in a perfect spot for us to explore the peak district and Ashford is a beautiful and quiet village (we totally recommend Aisseford tearoom for breakfast and check out the Sheep bridge on the river). The cottage itself was beautifully presented with lots of charming features and had everything we needed for a short break. We are already thinking about dates for a return visit!

Everything about our stay at The Bobbin was perfect! Debs was excellent with communication and Simon was there to greet us with the keys and to give us a quick tour of the cottage; he even carried our ridiculously heavy bags up the stairs for us! The Bobbin is cosy, very well maintained, and perfect for any type of stay. The location is excellent for walks around the village or for exploring the beauty of the Peak District. If you're looking for a quiet place with tons of charm and fantastic hosts this is the place for you! Are your dates available? What are you waiting for? Cramped and Basic

We found The Bobbin to be cramped and rather dark inside with a disappointing outside concrete courtyard that is shared by other properties and that has a view of several dustbins. The kitchen is small with limited facilities. There is for example no microwave or dishwasher. Also, the fridge did not have a freezer section. We found it somewhat difficult preparing and cooking meals in such a compact space. The property is on three stories with the bathroom and toilet on the top floor. Getting to the top floor entails climbing treacherously steep stairs with narrow treads. On the plus side, there is a pub within walking distance. The second pub in the village is closed at present. We felt so constrained by the tightness of the space in The Bobbin that we spent one night at the nearby Riverside House Hotel in a room with an outside terrace. It felt wonderful to be able to sit outside with a view of grass and flowers. The restaurant there was exceptional.

We were rather surprised and puzzled by this review, as we currently have 382 bookings with 5* reviews. Your 2* review is the only one we have ever had in 5 years. The property is a Grade II listed building built in the 1800s, and not a modern building and this is accurately depicted in the photographs. Our listing clearly states what appliances are available and that there is a 'shared courtyard to the rear, steep stairs, and the accommodation is split over three floors' - we're not sure how much clearer we can make this information? The majority of guests read the details provided prior to booking to avoid any surprises. We are also not responsible for the current closure of one of the village pubs. It sounds very much as if you were in truth really looking for a hotel experience, i.e. The Riverside Hotel with its fabulous dining facilities but only willing to pay for a self-catering holiday cottage. Our discerning guests appreciate The Bobbin's history, character, the quality of furnishings and the charming village of Ashford in the Water and we welcome many of them back time and time again.

Great place for a long weekend

Everything provided as described. The location was great with easy access to walks, made better by the supply of local OS Maps. It is also not too far to Bakewell. The ducks by the river were great entertainment for a 1 year old too.
