Great Location

We spent a week here and really enjoyed the proximity to Northwood Lake. It is a short distance to the coast and lakes region as well. Very responsive owner and a nice place to stay.

Clean and spacious

Property was clean and spacious. Necessary amenities such as detergent, paper towels, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, etc were provided. Check in and check out processes were easy. Perfect for my family’s get together.

Amazing!

Everything was absolutely amazing and such a smooth process start to finish! We loved this home, this location and the owner whom we communicated with to complete the booking. Wonderful memories were made with my family. From the early morning sunrise and serene sounds of nature and wildlife to fishing with my 8 year old son to even jumping off a tube and swimming beside loons, this was an AMAZING stay!

Northwood Vacation

This is a great property! This was our third time staying at this lake, by far our favorite rental! Spacious for all ages. We even met the owners on the day we were leaving. Very personable. We had toddlers, teens and adults in our crew. This is steps from the lake, but also far enough that the kids can’t just run in. Look forward to staying again!

Excellent Hide Away

We had a wonderful stay. Upon arrival the driveway was a little hard to navigate and find. But once we found it, no troubles. Downstairs was absolutely freezing compared to the upper levels. House was clean we felt very safe.

A hidden gem

We had an amazing time at this lake house. Peaceful and serene area. House has plenty room, bright, warm and welcoming. You can tell many memories have been made there. The beach area (a one minute walk) at the end of the driveway, is beautiful. Plenty of sand, sun and shade, clean, family oriented. Bob, the owner, was responsive and easy to get in touch with. My only complaint is GPS! Don’t use google maps. Apple Maps gets you close but the directions stop before you reach the driveway. When gps stops, keep going, bearing to the left, go down the hill. All of a sudden you will see the beach and a long driveway on the left! You’ve then reached this hidden gem. Recommend bringing camp/beach chairs for the beach area.

Chalet by the lake

We had a little trouble finding the place as it is not directly on the road but location was good with lots of privacy should you want to be outside by the fire pit. Lake was a just around the corner of entrance. Chalet was clean and had all that you need. Robert the owner was quick to reply to our questions. I would go back.

This was our second time staying at Bob’s Lakehouse! It is a perfect distance right to the beach at the end of his driveway! The house is spacious. Bob is very easy to get in contact with, upon arrival the washing machine was broke, and he had another one delivered asap. I will tell you not to use Google maps as your GPS because for some reason the directions are wrong. I would definitely use the maps app that comes with Apple iPhone or a different one. As soon as you get to the end of his road, the beach will be directly in front of you and it almost looks like there’s no way to go, and then you will bang a left down this narrow driveway past the blue house and his house is tucked right away! We stayed for nine nights this time instead of seven. Santa’s village was roughly 2 hours away, but it wasn’t bad to drive back-and-forth from the same day. Majority of the trip was leisurely, spending a lot of time in the lake and going for walks through the neighborhood. We even went kayaking. This is the perfect place to stay to unwind and disconnect from your day-to-day life. This is our fourth time staying on this lake and the second time staying at Bob’s, we will be back next summer!

Great CAMP- it is a camp

It was difficult to find!! For a camp it was great. Location to lake is great. Plenty of space for all of us. Could have been cleaner. Mold in coffee pot, sticky counters which did not help with the serious ant problem (but it is a camp, you will have some ants), food left in the fridge from previous guest. Open windows when you arrive it will help with the closed up musty smell. Although, honestly when I pay a cleaning fee, I do not expect to have to take my trash home with me. I missed that in the description. Owner was quick to respond to any emails before or during our stay.

household supplies not available. laundy soap, softner, garbage bags, sponges. since we had to take garbage home would have thought bags would have been supplied..Dirty dishes in dishwasher when we got there..towels in dryer.. Washer ran only on hot..bath tub drain not draining but we fixed that. lots of ants...

Hot air balloon

The property was not very clean, counters dirty, stove also dirty. Had 2 spray the kitchen counter for ants. lowest level was very musty smelling, dehumidifier was not working properly. Main level bathroom had no towel racks. The back porch had loose floor boards and one area had a hole in it. These spots had tables over them, but need to be repaired.

Northwood “Not would”

It was advertised that there was AC, contacted owner a week prior to confirm type of ac and was told one window unit and fans. So, we loaded up an extra window unit in Virginia before we left and glad we did. Upon arrival the house was 90 degrees, no ac unit, no fans running and the 2 working fans were both noisy and rattled during use.Dehumidifier in the basement worked periodically, had to reset it multiple times.The closets had old sheets and a mattress in it that smelled horrible. We went to my brothers house in Epsom and borrowed a second ac unit and three working fans.After swimming all day on day 2 we found that the hand written instructions on how to jimmy rig the start button on the washer were useless because the start button came off in my wife’s hand. So we loaded up our wet clothes and went to my brother’s to do laundry. The dryer works but sounds like it’s coming a part.We persevered through the first and second days and enjoyed the rest of our stay but only because we supplied our own AC units, fans and wash machine usage.When I contacted the owner about issues he simply stated that the ac must have stolen and he apologized for the dirty house upon arrival and offered to refund my clean fee.I would not recommend this rental in the summer as it is very hot without fans and ac.There seems to be little attention to detail by the preparatory team, as there were no toilet paper in the downstairs bathroom and dead bugs in the shower.

Not worth it!

There were so many things wrong, it’s a list of where to begin. First the mold – the smell is so bad in the basement/livingroom/bedroom that I couldn’t even go down there. One review mentioned that but the owner said it has been fixed - it certainly is not. The overall place needed a thorough cleaning. I had to use a wet wipe to clean the area of flies before I turned on the fan in the upstairs bedroom. The deck was a hazard – broken board and the railing wasn’t safe. I had to scrub the mugs before using them and there was no kettle, tea pot or a cutting board which was very odd. It is not on a lake, and unless you cut down the trees you would never see it. It was extremely difficult to find and why it’s not clearly marked with a stake or lights by the concrete wall was not pleasant. The stains on the carpet – seriously get rid of it. The fold up bed really didn’t work and it does not sleep 8 comfortably. The smell from the duvets, I don’t think they’ve been washed in a long time. I was very disappointed and we’ve traveled around the world and stayed at very unusual places but by far this was a rating of 1 and only because it was close to our relatives who let us stay with them most of the day to avoid being at the rental place.

Unfortunately I don’t acccept your complaints as there were over $10000 of improvements If you wanted central air you should have selected a house with it

We had a great time here. The lake was clear and really refreshing to swim and kayak in. The house had everything we needed and the owner was great at answering our questions before we arrived. Would come back!

Nice vacation home

No issues with booking or check in. Owner was quick to respond to questions. Do know that there is no air conditioning in this property—having said that, we were there when it was 90 degrees and did fine with windows open and fans. We did have a couple of issues about cleanliness that we addressed with the owner directly. We enjoyed our stay.

Another great stay!

This was our second trip to this beautiful Northwood home. We had a wonderful stay. Spacious house, very clean and and stocked with everyone we needed! Had so much fun at the lake. Bob is an excellent host! He responds responds any questions immediately and is so nice!

Yearly Friends Trip

Bob was a great host. The property was well maintained and in a great location. The house was situated close to surrounding towns and restaurants, but had enough privacy to be able to relax for a weekend. The beach was clean and just a short walk away. Our entire group had a great time, and we hope to book again with Bob in the future.

Another great stay!

We've loved this cabin since our first stay in 2018. Northwood lake is literally steps away and it's central to the family we visit while in town. New Hampshire is a beautiful state with lots to enjoy and this property gives us that end-of-the-day rest we need after a day of whatever we did.

Location great Cleaniness gross

We are requesting a refund of the cleaning fee of $95.00. We know this is a camp and expect certain things however it was far from clean and well kept. We arrived to a smoke detector chirping. After we rummaged through the junk drawers (emphasis on junk) we finally found a 9 volt battery and replaced the battery. Also, the smoke detector at the top of the stairs was open. The first aid kit was not visible. It was hidden in the bathroom vanity drawer and was not well stocked. The smoke detector and first aid kit are listed as "Safety Information" on the contract however, neither were safe. Also, there were numerous burnt out light bulbs and the kitchen ceiling fan was dusty and grimy. There were plenty of towels however, no hand towels or kitchen clothes. There were no towel rods to hang wet towels in either of the bathrooms. The downstairs basement shower dripped and was full of bugs. The kitchen was full of bugs. The bureau was full of sheets so we could not use it for our clothes. The kitchen window was filthy. The floors and rugs were stained and dirty. There were numerous old ant and mouse traps which was unnerving. The downstairs closet was filled with junk. The shed smelled because there were trash bags in it that no one had taken away. . The upstairs shower liner was moldy. The microwave, kitchen counters and table were dirty. The front glass piece on the microwave continually slipped down. None of the tvs worked. Please refund our $95.00 and please hire someone that know how to clean properly.
