The online pictures do not do this house justice. Everything is better in person both inside and out.The only recommendation I have is to have more seating options on the decks to enjoy the gorgeous views.

Could have been better

The house itself is lovely with a great view! Furniture upstairs is fine, although not enough seating - one sofa and two chairs to watch tv - seating for 5 only. Weather was not great so we did watch some movies. There were countless dead flies on the windowsills (ick) and no blankets in the whole house. Sheets and light coverlets only on all the beds, and the heat could not keep up with the temps outside. It was cold but not ridiculously so outside - lows maybe in the teens - and the house was 59 degrees Sunday morning. This would have been fine had there been adequate comforters, blankets, etc, but there was nothing. Furniture downstairs was very faded and old looking. One of the bedrooms downstairs has no window at all which I do not think was noted anywhere. All in all - house itself is great but because of the no blankets, handkerchief-sized towels, and heat not working, our stay left a little to be desired.

The last morning we were there the heat was set at 71 but the actual temperature in the house was 62 degrees. The rental agency was very prompt in responding to our request for additional towels. I would recommend this property to friends and family.

The kitchen lacks utensils and gadgets, such as no wisk, knives that are dull, etc.. Only 4 chairs on the back deck, it would be nice to add additonal chairs and an outdoor table, there is the space for it. Overall a great house and would rent again.

Great views

Lots of space for a large group. We enjoyed West Jefferson. The grocery store is close as is the downtown with several restaurants. The house needs the same number of outdoor chairs as it sleeps. There are 3 chairs on deck and one on the upper deck.

Beautiful property and a great location

The house has a beautiful view and is very conveniently located to West Jefferson, Grandfather Mountain, Boone and all that area has to offer. We love the wood interior and beautiful stone fireplae. The house is comfortable and well appointed.

Buck Mountain

The cabin was rustic and clean, with a spectacular view of the mountains. However, I was upset to arrive and find hundreds of dead centipedes on the front porch and both decks. The first thing I did was sweep all those locations. And while the cabin sleeps 10, there were only 4 exterior chairs for guests to relax and enjoy the view. A few blankets would have been appreciated. Otherwise, our short stay was lovely. Thank you.
