Great location

Ideal location and unit, everything g worked well, lanai was great, sheets clean, bed comfy. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Nice accommodations with little perks

Small nice little condo, mirrors everywhere can be a little confusing on the pictures and make it seem bigger then it is. Location is really nice especially via bus. Pool was always clean and not crowded. Kitchen and bathroom were kinda clean but fridge wasn’t emptied out(open chocolates, opened jam) behind toaster/ inside oven still dirty. Doing laundry is crazy expensive. Provided phone number was really helpful when we locked ourselves out of the safe.

The set up provides for a community feel as there are some full time residents that gather at sunset most evenings.The unit is a bit dated but not something that is bothersome for it is an old building. I must admit to startling myself several times because of the many mirrors on the walls!The unit was equipped adequately and served us well. We did use the pineapple and coffee in the welcome basket. There is essentially no beach for swimming but we were there to explore, so it was not a problem. My husband wanted to stay longer.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: So glad our other VRBO rental cancelled and we found this one instead. Wow! Fantastic location, close to all West side beaches. The condo was clean, decorated in fun beach theme and felt like home. No a/c, but 2 standing fans, ceiling fan and windows opened kept the condo comfortable. Sitting on the patio you have a close up view of the ocean. They light tiki torches each night and it feels like a family with everyone out watching the sunset each night on the grass. Loved the pool when we needed a quick dip to cool off. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to make meals, including a blender for our morning smoothies. Laundry room was very useful, remember to bring quarters. If you are able, walk down the rocks to the left and keep going til you reach the ladder going into the water. Lots of turtles! Check in and check out was easy. We will be back!!

Perfectly Acceptable for Nice Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed here for 3 nights in April 2022, during height of school holidays. The unit is easy to find, right off the main highway and touchless entry is nice. I would say the decor does embody “Old Hawaii” and looks like the photos, but also the furnishings are a bit dated and things are pretty worn. A little refresh would really brighten the place up and make it more pleasant. Kitchen is stocked with useful items, good knives, plastic storage containers, etc. There was a water pitcher in the fridge but it definitely needed a new filter. Spider webs were all over the curtains of the doors leading to outdoor space- but I did find a giant spider on the door. Some things were dusty if you look closely, but overall the condo was clean. When I went, no A/C was not an issue because there is a nice cross-breeze from the back doors to the bedroom and ceiling fans. Outdoor space overlooking the ocean is really beautiful and each night people gathered outside to catch the sunset. It is very accommodating to families who stay longer and make meals on property—there are a few grills that people took turns using and some picnic tables. The pool area is okay. The biggest complaint I would have is that the floors and walls are thin. The family in the unit upstairs -no joke- would start making so much noise (sound of moving furniture across the floor) as soon as quiet hours were over, up until the end of the day. I’m not sure why or how, but it was quite annoying. Also, I heard some intense bed squeaking. Go figure. It is a nice place to stay in, for proximity to sites on West Maui; it’s about 15min to Lahaina attractions, and easy to keep going north for more beaches to explore. With traffic, it was 50min-1hr to Kihei/airport. I would probably stay in Polynesian Shores again as pros outweigh the cons, and I can overlook some things and was out most of the day anyway. Would recommend.

Mahalo for all of your feedback. I will certainly pass along all information to necessary areas. The condo upstairs is a 2 bedroom and holds up to 6 guests. More often than not, this is not an issue. My apologies for this as well as the cleanliness. The housekeepers do a wonderful job and must have overlooked this area.

Vacation stay of our unit 123 and resort

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed for 9 days in condo 123. We enjoyed our stay very much. Our condo was clean and well stocked with towels, bathroom toiletries items. The kitchen also was well stocked. We also loved having available to us all the stuff to use at the beach. We meet your housekeeping supervisor when she came to bring our beach towels. She was very sweet and asked us if there was anything else that we needed. Your grounds, pool area and barbecues are manicured every day. The gentleman that facilitates this is very pleasant and always greeted us whenever he saw us. We look forward to return soon. There are a few thinks that we would like to bring to your attention. Two miner things. One is the slider screen patio door. It is very hard to open and close. It won’t stay in its bottom track. The condo has two ceiling fans. Both only run on one speed slow. If they had variable speeds we wouldn’t need to use the standing fans all the time. I know everyone is trying to keep cost down and we appreciate all that you do. One think that is a definite hazard is the electric plug in the bathroom. Because of the style of sink faucet it is very difficult to plug in anything electric plus it is not on a GFI circuit breaker. This could cause Electrocution to someone.

Awesome View From Unit

I had a wonderful experience. The check in process was very easy. The property manager sent a detailed email before check providing information all about the check in process and details about the property. Everyday we watched a gorgeous sunset from our patio. They have grills on the property, so we grilled most nights. The other residents are very friendly. The property is very clean on the inside and outside. I feel like the unit was tastefully decorated like a Hawaiian home. Also, the unit had snorkel gear including a variety of fins. And the unit has lots of beach chairs, coolers, and ice packs for a day at the beach. We plan to stay here when we return.

Unit 123 is located next to the pool and close to ocean front; although adequate, it is well used and could benefit from some general repair and maintenance. The property grounds are still beautifully maintained, exterior of the buildings has been upgraded and now has the hot tub by the pool. Where rentals used to be typically 1 week or longer stays, the trend now seems to be to treat the resort more like a hotel with many shorter 2 or 3 day rentals with younger groups and families that can and do get noisy.

Great little place. Clean comfortable and beautiful, tranquil property. Walk out to the pool or the oceanside from the patio. Bed was comfy and the place had all needed things for cooking and eating including a blender to make the Pina coladas. BBQs out front to BBQ while you watch the sunset and a great pool. There is no beach out front but beach chairs and towels and umbrellas were provided (umbrellas had pretty much had it tho) we took Uber up to Napili for the beach. I recommend this place if your looking to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Maui w/o crowds.

This was our first visit to PS 123. My wife and I both think it is time to upgrade the seating. Also, the drapes were frayed in the middle (though it didn't affect our stay). The property, itself, is always very nice. This unit just needs some TLC and it will be fine.

Even better this time since this unit is away from road &parking lot noise.We were "warned"by management that it was the least updated unit in the complex-burgundy carpeting/crazy number of mirrored walls-but it had everything we wanted& more.Nice slice of ocean view from our ground floor patio, close to pool& barbecue,great shower pressure, comfortable queen, well-stocked kitchen, new tvs in livingroom& bedroom. Big bonus:beach chairs, umbrellas &snorkel gear for 4.Even though it was dated, it was clean& comfortable! Need to replace warped sliding Screen door&couple windows don't open, but otherwise very happy overall!Can't beat the small-town vibe-we dislike the huge resort hotel/condos so perfect for us. We'll be back!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our time at Polynesian Shores. It’s location on the northwestern part of the island suites us well. The condo was clean and very comfortable. It is near the pool, so if you like it quiet during the day, you might consider a different unit. We only had two issues, which would NOT keep us from staying here again. Beach equipment is stored in the clothes closet, and we didn’t want to hang our clothes in the musty smell. I had a hard time finding a sharp knife in the kitchen, but that wasn’t a big deal. As some other reviewers have stated, the multiple mirrors take a while to get used to. The management staff was friendly and helpful.

Wells February Stay #123

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Really enjoyed the Poly Shores location, amenities, and overall feel. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and very easy to work with in making reservations, payment, check-in/check-out, etc... In fact, we have already booked and reserved additional units again for this coming May and December 2019, and will probably be reserving again for next February and May 2020 as well. The only down side to the stay in unit #123, it was not very clean. The old filter with coffee grounds were still in the coffee maker from previous guests?, and the shower appeared as though it had not been cleaned at all from the previous as well?, Last but not least, the screen door to the lanai was off the track and fell completely off a couple times while trying to go in and out, etc... I finally took the time to get tools and re-install/repair the screen door myself on the track to try and prevent or avoid any damage to it during our stay?... it worked ok after that but still not very well, probably needs replaced? All things considered, it didn't seem to have quite the attention to detail as it really should have or deserves, perhaps just this one unit more than another?... but overall we still enjoyed our stay, or we wouldn't have the confidence to re-book the additional trips as mentioned above.

2/10 – Terrible

GREAT LOCATION

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit #123 is perfectly located right by the pool and steps from the ocean! The unit was disappointing because the safe didn’t work, screen door doesn’t close all the way so I had Praying Mantis and other large bugs until they sprayed the unit on June 4th for my last 2 days :( Dining table (glass) has a chip and I hurt myself the first night. Turned the chip to the wall so no one else got cut. The lights in the kitchen flicker constantly so I used a nightlight. The unit sliding door to lanai doesn’t NOT lock and you put a broom handle for security? Not cool! Cute unit, but not worth price. I’ve been coming here for 25 years and worst unit I’ve stayed in.

Aloha! It is very unfortunate to hear this after you have left us. We are in the office everyday to take care of these concerns and could have easily remedied these minor issues. There is actually a lock for the screen door that is a chain on the wall for security and seems to be working fine. We have serviced the screen door and not seeing the lights flickering. Again, please let us know these issues right away so we can ensure you have an enjoyable stay in the future. We value your staying with us and hope to see you next time you visit Maui!

We have been vacationing at Polynesian Shores for over 15 years, and can't imagine staying anywhere else!
