Great location

Great location! Loved the privacy of the unit with our own gate inside the main gate. Very walk-able to Potrero. Access to the beach and restaurants. Host was very responsive to any messages/questions we had.

Cute cabino with great outdoor space

My husband and I stayed 5 nights and just loved the property. It is very modern and has everything you need, including a full size refrigerator which we did not have at other places we stayed. The outdoor area is fabulous -- outdoor kitchen, large deck & plunge pool. We walked to the beach and restaurants in the area and felt pretty safe. We would definitely stay here again!

What a Wonderful Stay

We really enjoyed everything about the El PASITO. It was relaxing, private, equipped with the essential needs. It was off the main roads but close to everything. Caroline was very laid back and accommodating. We also love the property animals. Walked with the dogs and visited by the cat. It was a truly relaxing week.

Relaxing Stay

Quite area except for the monkeys which I don’t mind hearing in the morning. Felt safe. Ac worked great. A bit of a walk to get to the beach, food/market but only about 10 minutes.

Restful stay

We enjoyed the five days we spent at El Pasito. It had all the comforts we were looking for. Comfortable king size bed, lovely large walking shower, and a well equipped outdoor kitchen. Our dog was welcomed by the hosts 2 friendly dogs. Our favorite amenity was the private plunge pool on our deck. Thanks Caroline for the lovely stay.

Potrero Paradise

We loved this property so much we have already booked another visit. The bungalows and surrounding properties are private, clean and lush. Each bungalow has a plunge pool to keep cool and an outdoor kitchen for meals. The inside is just as comfortable as the outside with excellent air conditioning and bedding. Walkable and accessible to everything in Potrero. Bonus are the howler monkeys, birds and visits from the two resident dogs and one cat.

Fantastic property, communal yet private. There are 3 dogs (a pup seems to have adopted Caroline and Etienne just during my stay) and a wonderful cat. And the howler monkeys spoke out daily! Hot water, an outdoor kitchenette and an incredible location. Easy access to so much! And did I mention, Caroline and Etienne are magnifique!! Will definitely return. Thank you both 2 legged and 4 legged residents! ❀

I had a really great stay here and would absolutely come back. The place was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great hot water after long days out exploring. The kitchen was also well stocked with everything you might need if you want to cook, which I appreciated. Having parking on site was very convenient as well.The host was wonderful. Very friendly, accommodating, and helpful whenever I needed anything. They made the check-in and check-out process very smooth and easy, which I really appreciated.I also have to mention the two dogs who greeted me whenever I came and went. They were incredibly sweet and honestly became one of the highlights of the stay. The property felt very safe and secure the entire time.The location worked well for me. I ended up driving most places since the roads in the area are dirt and not the easiest to walk, but it is still very close to Potrero and several beautiful beaches, so getting around by car was quick and easy.The only thing worth noting for future guests is that the first unit (where I stayed) is right near the entrance, so it is not completely private. Cars coming in and out of the property can see the patio and pool area, so if you're someone looking for total privacy while relaxing outside, it's just something to be aware of.That said, it didn’t take away from my overall experience. My wife and I just returned from an incredible two-week stay at El Pasito in Surfside, Costa Rica, and we can honestly say it was exceptional from start to finish.The location was absolutely perfect—close enough to everything we needed, yet tucked away enough to be peaceful, private and safe. For the cost, the accommodations exceeded our expectations. It was spotless, beautifully maintained, and designed for comfort. We truly felt at home the moment we arrived.One of our favorite features was the private cooling plunge pool—perfect after a warm Costa Rican walk. The outdoor kitchenette was adequately stocked for vacationers needs. We enjoyed breakfasts at El Pasito and dined out every evening. Having access to laundry was another thoughtful touch that made a two-week stay effortless.What truly sets El Pasito apart, though, is the onsite owner and caretaker. Their attention to detail and genuine focus on patron delight made the entire experience special. Every question was answered, every need anticipated.If you’re considering Surfside, for the cost, El Pasito is a gem. We can’t wait to return.

Perfect!

Everything about this property was exactly as advertised. Great location walking distance to the beach, quiet at the end of a street. Beautiful landscaping, private pools for each cabana. Walk to Mercado for groceries or eat at one of the local restaurants. Property has everything you need to cook and relax. The owners are very accommodating and quick to reply to questions. I absolutely loved everything about this location. zero complaints. :) I will be back soon!

Lovely accommodations

The accommodations were clean and tidy. No frills which is just where I am most comfortable. Caroline and Ettienne were close by in case anything was needed but kept to themselves. Delightful.

Great option for home office and dogs

Booked some days for home office and it was a very calm space with great WiFi, private with everything needed. Stayed with my dogs and Caroline was an amazing host. She was helpful and relaxed. Really enjoyed the experience and will be back.

Relaxing and peaceful

We just returned from our 2 week vacation at El Pacito. We had everything we needed to cook our own meals which we enjoyed doing in the outside kitchen. Having the private pool was perfect because it was quite warm everyday. We saw and heard the howler monkeys every day as well as the birds. My husband enjoyed going for walks with Lou Lou, Etienne and Caroline's dog. We absolutely recommend staying here and we will be back. Thank you
