We live on the east coast of the island of Tahiti, in the city called Arue. Located 25min drive from the airport and 15min drive from the town of Papeete.

We features a rare and spacious house on the beach with 3 bedrooms with AC, 2 bathroom, a living room, a well équiped kitchen and a large open patio from where you can enjoy and relax looking at the Pacific Ocean

Thé house feature free wifi, TV with cable, BBQ, pool table, kayak, paddleboard and snorkeling gears.

We live on the 1sr floor and the whole basement is reserved for our guests.

For security we have an automatic gate and the guests have 2 free parkings on site

Convenience of booking van with house was awesome. Along with pick up and drop off at airport. Hosts were friendly, helpful and accommodated to all pur 20 questions and booked our trip to Moorea which was the highlight of our trip. Was raining most of the time for our trip but didn't stop us sight seeing as it was still really warm. House right on black sand beach and close to town.

Great quiet place to stay.

Very clean and peaceful. Backyard right on the beach was so relaxing. Beautiful and Shady. Nice hosts.The only negative was having a solar powered water heater so most of our showers were cold. Especially if you like morning showers. You need to shower when the sun is shining.

The property and hosts were fantastic. I could have stayed there a couple of weeks and been happy. It's right on the beach and we did good snorkeling right out the back gate. Definitely recommend this property.

Loved that it is right on the beach and you can listen to the waves!

It took us a bit to get to know the area, and we loved the location. Lavinia was so kind. She arranged a tour for us and let us borrow a cooler. I would stay here again.

Lovina is exceptionally helpful, giving our group great recommendations for tours and dining. Black sand beach just steps from the house. Covered patio really great! Very quiet and private. Mosquitos are an issue.

Really nice house on the beach. It’s not a swimming beach as there is a lot of algae at the bottom but fun for snorkeling or walking along. Also a great place to read and chill. We enjoyed the pool table a lot. We had trouble getting a booking for a 4x4 tour through the island and Lovina was kind enough to help us reserve a tour with Patrick who was both charming and super informative about the island’s plants and geological features. A great day! Across the street is a lovely, small museum about the author of Mutiny on the Bounty. Loved it!There is a nice beach for swimming about 15-20 minutes walking. And the drive into town is about 15 minutes. We spent 5 nights there and it was really nice. Free Netflix and WiFi worked ok . We also grilled on the BBQ.

Lovely Tahiti

The Arue beach house was a great place to start our Tahiti adventure. Lovina showed us places and tricks of the local life in Tahiti that we would have never experienced if we had stayed at a resort. The a/c in each bedroom was great, everything worked as intended and the ease of renting the van was the best!!! Thank you Lovina, we wish you the best!!!!

Quiet beach house

Nice little place, close to the beach but not so close to the town of Papeete unfortunately so you'll need a car or cash for taxis. Great if you want a few days to get away from it all though :) Lovina is a friendly and helpful hostess. Some things were not working during our stay, hopefully these get rectified for others. We're happy with the few days we stayed here.

Wonderful Experience!

We really enjoyed our stay with Lovina and her family. It was just what we needed to acclimate us to the pleasures of Tahiti before we set sail on the Aranui. There were four adults so each couple was able to enjoy their on Kingsize bed and private bath. The house was well equipped and Lovina provided transportation on arrival and departure. We did have a small problem connecting on arrival at the airport due to lack of internet but it wasn’t anything major. I would definitely recommend her place and we appreciated her dog, Pepsi, making us feel right at home!

when we arrived at 12:30 at night, there was NO KEY in the lockbox. My husband climbed over fence and eventually the owner that lived upstairs (NOT NOTED ON THE BOOKING INFO) finally woke up and let us in... apparently her son had taken the key! NOT COOL!! House was great. Great glass beach!

A hidden paradise in Ārue

Our host Lovina was so nice and accommodating. She was very responsive to any questions or concerns we had. She made us feel right at home. The property is right on a magnificent black sand beach that has wonderful snorkeling and kayaking or paddle boarding. Lovina provided us with all the equipment we need to do everything on the beach. You can also borrow her snorkeling gear and mats for the beach if you plan to go to other beaches (which we did). The property is conveniently located near the airport and to Papeete. It is just a short drive away from those areas. There are local food trucks that are open nearby and also an Easy Market where you can buy all the supplies you need if you choose to eat at this beautiful Property. The highlight of staying here was eating a meal and gazing upon the gorgeous ocean view from the backyard. We used the bbq grill to make steak and shrimp one night and it was so awesome. The snorkeling here at their beach is really good. Plenty of coral where fish hang out. The locals like this beach as a hidden gem. We would stay here again. It is a paradise! Thank you Lovina for letting us stay at your magnificent property. We hope to see you again!

Private beach was our favorite part of the trip!

We loved the private beach. This was our daughter's favorite part of the trip. There are other people who have access to the beach as well as you are in a neighborhood of Arue but compared to the public beaches you have a piece of paradise all to yourself. We also enjoyed all the animal life (giant snails, crabs, birds and one day we even saw a sea otter swimming near us). The neighbors do have dogs (and there are a lot of dogs in Tahiti) but they did not bother us. The rental van was a must for us. It enables you to go to the local markets, grocery stores, restaurants, and visit the island. We only booked one tour on viator which was snorkeling (and technically you can do that in the private beach area), but we are not experienced and wanted a guide to take us into one of the lagoon areas around the island. Our primary purpose for booking a Vrbo over the resort was the private beach and having access to a rental vehicle that would allow us to explore independently. There are a lot of bugs (it is a tropical island), so bring bug spray and anti-itch cream. The hosts were very respectful of personal space and we only saw them a couple of times during our stay and for the pick up and drop off at the airport. We wanted to experience life as the Tahitians do and so that is what you will get with this beach house which is among the locals who are extremely gracious and friendly.

A piece of paradise

Beautiful property. Tranquil setting. A great spot from which to explore the island. Our greatest challenge was finding the location in the pouring rain. We went by the gate at least 6 times. A sign at the gate would have been appreciated. Although we were hours late and had no cell service to communicate with the host, the housekeeper was waiting for us with a smile. For that we were extremely relieved and grateful. You won’t be disappointed with this rental property.

The property was lovely, especially its location to the ocean. Two things that need to be addressed. 1) windows in the bathroom do not have screens and were open upon our arrival. The house was full of mosquitoes. 2) While the bathrooms were renovated and very beautiful, the kitchen is extremely outdated. The oven had to be lit from inside and had no settings for temperature. This was explained by the housekeeper after trying to figure it out ourselves.

Sisters Trip

We stayed with two sisters and their husbands - total of 6 adults. The property was clean and ready for us. Plenty of room for all three couples and luggage. The kithchen was well stock and we used it for breakfasts and dinner preparation. It had great direct access to the beach - walking and snorkeling. The air conditioning in each bedroom was excellent. The hosts were excellent to get us settled and were immediately available to help or answer questions. I would definitely stay and recommend this property.

A Taste of Living Like the Locals

As always, we had a great time visiting the beautiful land of Tahiti. Instead of a resort on Bora Bora or Moorea, we ended our stay at this beachfront property and it was the perfect way to end our trip. Our host (Lovina) was truly amazing. She let us drop our bags a few hours before our official check-in time and even let us hang out (out of the way, of course) while they prepped for our arrival. When it was time to check out, once again, she was incredibly accommodating. She coordinated to have someone give us a private 5-hour tour of the island on our last day so we could stay out of her hair while she prepped for the next guests and she was thoughtful enough to keep one bathroom open for us after our tour. She also dropped us at a dinner location on the last night and later took us to the airport. On the first day, she brought us a beautiful platter of fruit grown right on her property, which, incidentally sits right on a black sand beach with a great view. The house itself is nothing fancy but it really does give you the sense that you're staying in a typical Tahitian family home (as opposed to the more upscale places like the one we were previously in). The kitchen was very basic but met our needs. The bedrooms and baths were fine. We spent most of the time hanging out in the covered backyard patio. We even managed to get in a few games of pool. Hard to beat the setting for that one! The location was great and the James Norman Hall museum (almost directly across the street) is a fascinating place with a surprisingly good restaurant, staffed with typically friendly Tahitians who know how to take care of hungry tourists. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience that we'd highly recommend.

Awesome Stay

Lovina and her family were so sweet. It was great to stay somewhere and get the true experience of life in Tahiti, not a manufactured resort. It was great to have a kitchen and we rented a van from Lovina. The beach is right out the door. We highly recommend a stay here.
