Sunset Inn is fantastic!! The host was friendly, knowledgeable and genuine. He made sure we knew exactly what was available during our 4 night stay, right down to sunset and sunrise times, which is important because you're only a 5 minute walk to the coastline. The room was clean and comfortable and we loved the fireplace. The parking area looks small, but the spaces are generous enough we had no problem parking our full size truck. Housekeeping was friendly and attentive, as were the main staff (we had a light bulb go out and it was quickly replaced). We would definitely stay again!!!

Perfect location

Lovely, comfortable, clean room. The owner was very helpful. Short walk to the beach to see sunset. Easy access to 17 mile drive, Monterey, Big Sur, Carmel. Location was perfect!

Very nice experience. The hotel room was clean and the location was outstanding with a short walk to a wonderful path along the ocean and about a mile from downtown Pacific Grove with a good choice of restaurants and shops. The staff were very helpful. I would definitely come again at the price point.

Very high quality rooms. Excellent hospitality service. The view from our room was not like the photos in the ad, but we spent most of our trip outside the room anyway. Great location for walking or running the trail along the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was amazing and the staff was super friendly. The room was very clean and big. The bed was a little too stiff, but other than that everything was perfect.

Perfect get away

I can’t say enough good things about the Sunset Inn. It’s small, well kept, and cozy. With a jacuzzi tub and fireplace in some of the units, it’s absolutely perfect for couples looking for a get away. The staff are friendly and accommodating- 5 stars all around.

Weekend getaway

This was the 2nd year in a row that I stayed here. The front desk clerk was very respectful and accommodating. It was quiet and relaxing with a quick 5 min walk to the beach. The only downside is the renovation noise. While we were staying there for the reggae festival…it would have been nice to sleep in in the mornings without the sound of a leaf blower or some sort of hammering. All in all it was a pleasure staying here and will be back next year!

I booked a room I didn’t get and ended up with a tiny room that was completely misleading. I received no compensation. Learned my lesson. I travel a lot and never used vrbo. I won’t again.

The Sunset Inn is a lovely little place. While you can’t see the beach from the Inn, it’s a short walk and even shorter drive. Parking was available at the beach every time we went. The room was clean and had everything we needed. What I loved most about our stay was the caring staff. Mr. Rishi and his team are delightful. Can’t imagine you’d regret staying here.

My stay here was fantastic. Came to celebrate my wife and i’s 10th wedding anniversary and this was the perfect spot. Rishi and the team were very accommodating to helping me make the stay special for my wife. They arranged cider/wine for the room with rose pedals in the shape of a heart on the bed along with fresh flowers on the table, it was a great surprise to my wife. After the room service cleaned the room while we were gone for the day, they left healthy snacks and more fresh flowers on the table which was another surprise when we returned. We will definitely be back anytime we come to pacific grove/monterey area.
