Wonderful property, Great Location!

My family, including our teenager, loved this property. The location is super convenient to both slopes and stores. You can ride free Vail buses or drive yourself, either way will get you to the slopes or town quickly! The host owner is AWESOME and very knowledgeable about anything and everything you may want to do in Vail. Highly recommend this property and my family and I look forward to coming back!

Fantastic Home for Mountain Getaway

Great condo - perfect location for skiing in Vail. The property was a quick (<30 second) walk to the bus stop which brings you right to the heart of the Vail Village in a matter of minutes. The property was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Bob and Sharon provided excellent service and even greeted us with a bottle of champagne to start our stay off right. Would highly recommend this condo for a couple or family wanting a mountain getaway.

Sharon’s place is lovely and cozy, just across the highway from Lion’s head and Vail village. This condo is a great place for a couple or a couple with a child. It would do ok for two couples for a few days but probably not a long stay. This is a place to be quiet and cozy. Towels, pots, pans, knives, glassware are all very nice. The beds are good quality and very warm. The wood fireplace is great for hanging out and talking or watching television. We cooked a little in the kitchen but didn’t use the grill on the deck. Safeway grocery store and diners for breakfast are very close. Parking is close. The driveway to the parking behind the building is easier to find by walking out back to the parking space rather than following map directions. The bus stop is close. In my experience it’s easy to get a ride to Vail on schedule and somewhat less easy to figure out which bus to take to get back. We drove and parked a couple of times to maximize our time on the slopes. This is a really nice place to stay to enjoy the winter or summer. Sharon keeps her place very nice but she was also a warm and welcoming host who made sure we got settled in and everything was working fine. My brother and I enjoyed our stay very much.

Snow Lion is intentionally designed as a quiet, comfortable retreat — ideal for a couple or small family who want both relaxation and quick access to everything Vail offers. For future guests, I’d like to clarify the transportation piece since it’s one of the strongest advantages of this location. The Town of Vail’s free bus system runs frequently and reliably, and the Sandstone bus stop is just steps from the building. The ride to Vail Village is typically 8–10 minutes. Most guests find the route very straightforward, especially once they’ve taken it once. Return trips follow the same line back to the same convenient stop, and I always provide clear, step-by-step instructions with the exact route name and stop details to make it seamless. Many guests choose the bus because it eliminates parking logistics entirely and maximizes slope time — especially during peak season. I’m delighted you enjoyed your stay and would love to host you again in either winter or summer. Snow Lion is just as special when the trails and patios open up. Warm regards, Sharon

Cleanest, best quality

Husband, daughter and I stayed for over a week over Christmas. Sharon and Bob were excellent hosts. This is the first rental where I allowed by daughter to play on the floor without worrying about the cleanliness. Everything in the condo is top quality, not rental condo quality, especially the kitchen and bathroom wares. I was most comfortable here and would not hesitate to stay again : )

I am a Texan and retired IT consultant who moved to Vail in 2008. I fell in love with its stunning mountain views, world-class skiing, and miles of alpine trails.

I also fell in love with Robert (Bob) Kendall, whose life story is woven into the early history of the valley. Bob arrived in Vail in 1962, the very year the mountain opened, as one of the resort’s first twelve ski instructors. His 40 years of experience in residential real estate throughout the Vail Valley, gave him a remarkable understanding of the local community, mountain lifestyle, and history of this extraordinary place.

His experiences and stories of Vail’s early days—the raw beauty and the pioneering spirit have given me a richer perspective on what makes this valley so special. One of his favorites appears in the celebrated book The Inventors of Vail, which chronicles the pioneers who transformed open ranchland into a world-class resort—have given me a profound appreciation for this extraordinary place.

Today, we continue to explore the mountains together—from summer wildflowers to the enchanting glow of the February “Snow Moon.”

As a longtime resident of Vail, it brings me joy to share this home and this valley with guests from around the world. Whether you’re here to ski the legendary Back Bowls, hike forested ridgelines, or simply relax and breathe in the alpine air, I hope your stay fills you with the same sense of awe I experience here almost everyday.
