Great Location with Everything You Need
I was a little leery since there were so few reviews, but this place exceeded all our expectations!! It was very good size, extremely clean and convenient to everything in Old Town and Central City. We used the washer for a load of laundry and it was easy and helpful. The furniture was comfortable. The kitchen had a coffee press and hot water pot, which suited our needs. Communication with the property manager was quick and specific to our questions. All in all, it was perfect. I would recommend it without reservation!
Lovely apartment in the very heart of old riga
Loved my stay there. It has everything you may need to enjoy your stay in Riga. Awesome location, warm fresh croissants next door, restaurants, walking distance to all the attractions. Nice, clean, fully furnished place.
Rustic Penthouse - an authentic and quiet haven to return to each day after exploring Riga.
I was attracted to this apartment because it is described as being very close to many of the historical buildings, parks & canal & that although there are many restaurants and bars within easy reach, Jekaba iela itself didn't have any & so it is a quieter area.
This was my first visit to Latvia. I stayed all of April for a holiday combined with research.
Before my departure to Riga, I received all the information I needed from Valerie, who had just taken over as the new property manager. I was met outside the apartment by Valerie & Robert (property owner). They showed me round & explained all the essential things I needed to know about it. I had Valerie's telephone number & she said I should contact her if I was unsure of anything or should any problems arise.
The apartment itself looked the same as it was depicted on the website. There's a good quality electric hob-top &cooker, washing machine &fridge. It was cold when I arrived in Riga but the heaters in the apartment are efficient &soon warm up the room. It's on the top floor (no lift) so there are a lot of steps to climb, this wasn't a problem for me personally. The building is very old & Jekaba iela & laukums (square) has its own interesting history & is mentioned in the Bradt guide of Latvia.
I loved the oval shaped windows that look out across Jekaba square & Riga Castle just beyond, with the dramatic bridge - Vansu tilts, being to the right of the view. There's a good mini-market at the end of the street & there are two cafes. I loved the area! The Swedish Gate, Powder Tower and Doms Square are a few minutes walk away; outside the building to the right I would walk through the beautiful parks & by the canal to the Freedom Monument. Just across the road from Jekaba iela is the Latvia National Theatre, a wonderful building, again seeped in history & a great theatre experience.
There were a few settling in issues after I arrived at the apartment but these were dealt with speedily by Valerie (who, new to the job, was accustoming herself to the properties she was now managing) in a friendly and confident manner, always keeping me informed of developments. Valerie assured me also that she valued my feedback regarding the apartment. I found Valerie to be a lovely host, who was not intrusive but reassuringly there to give advice or any help and she would text me periodically to see if all was OK.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay in what, for me, was the perfect location.

Beautiful space in a great location
Great overall experience. Was met at the apartment and given all of the appropriate information as well as great information about the area. She gave us great tips on where to eat, have drinks and see the sights.
The apartment was exactly as advertised. Very spacious, comfortable with more than enough room for two friends traveling together. The sofa bed was extremely comfortable. There was even a minibar in the refrigerator which was a very nice added bonus. We didn't need to utilize this because just down the road was a great little mart with food and drink that was quite handy!
The only thing I would be aware of is that there are a signifant number of stairs to get to the unit (10 flights) no elevator. This is by no means strike against the unit - just a heads up.
