We could not have asked for a better location with a view directly on to Lake Superior there is even a bench swing to on the bank to enjoy the view. The cabin had everything we might need (the listing accurately tells what you must bring yourselves) and Mel and Vera are gracious, available hosts who are happy to tell you about places to go in town.

Really enjoyed staying at this property!! It was clean, cozy and peaceful. The hosts made sure you had what you needed and were very considerate. We would highly recommend staying at this property to anyone.

Home away from home…but with a beach!

Mel and Vera were like old neighbors..ready to chat but not intrusive at all. The cottage is immaculate and the location could not be better. We enjoyed the little beach, walks into town and the proximity to hiking trails and rocky beaches.

Base Camp with a View

Great location right on the harbor. Perfect for exploring all that the Keweenaw has to offer. Walking distance to stores and restaurants in Copper Harbor. Mel and Vera are great hosts and pride of ownership shows. Would definitely book again.

Very Scenic & Relaxing

Place was everything we had been looking for. Peaceful & relaxing. Enjoyed the spectacular views of the lake from inside and outside the cabin. We had a great time fishing at nearby inland lakes. If we decide to make another trip to Copper Harbor, we definitely would book our stay here again.

Restful retreat

Cabin was very clean with a nicely equipped kitchen. Owners take great pride in this cabin and outside area. Views were fantastic! 2 eagles flying past our window every morning! Mel and Vera were wonderful hosts! Can’t wait to return next summer!!

Home away from home, plus wonderful amenities!

Beautiful, very clean, and very well cared for cottage, on Lake Superior in Copper Harbor!! The views from the windows are awesome and so are the sights and sounds and smells of the area. Perfectly located to easily walk or drive to local points of interest, unique shops and restaurants. Owners are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful and see that your stay is pleasant. We will be back!

Fall colors

Had a great time. The view from the swing is absolutely stunning. Property is located in a perfect place. Within walking distance of everything in town. House is very clean and is a great place to relax. Has that good home feeling. Mel and Vera are great host. Would recommend staying here..

We are both over 45 and our stay was amazing

This cottage was amazing! So clean and so perfect! We had a beautiful scenic view of lake superior. We enjoyed every day from one Saturday to the next Saturday. We had no tv and didn't even miss it. The owners were very respectful and never bothered us. We can't wait to go back. Hoping to book again next year

Relaxing stay with wonderful view

We found this cottage which was right on the water to be far enough from the main drag yet within walking distance of what we needed to access in town. The cottage has a warm feel and the view from the large window over the dining table gave us a continual connection to the water and its wildlife. On two evenings we saw otters, which we took as a good sign of place. Our hosts were welcoming and have strong ties to Copper Harbor. We definitely plan to return.

We had a wonderful time

The hosts Mel and Vera were awesome, they were very helpful and accommodating. The cottage was very nice and worked out well for the two of us. We spent allot of time enjoying the surrounding area and Lake Superior. After our afternoons spent exploring, the cottage was perfect to come back to and relax for the evening.

Perfect location, Clean, Great hosts!

On the shores of Lake Superior in Copper Harbor, this property offered everything we wanted for our Keweenaw vacation! Clean and cute, well-stocked kitchen, exquisite bedding, views of the harbor and the lake...we watched the otters play nearby while freighters passed in the in distance. We walked to restaurants, rode bikes to highly-rated mountain bike trails, and drove to nearby breath-taking hikes--it couldn't have been better! Hosts Mel and Vera are next door and happy to answer any questions. We hope to be back soon!

Great stay in Copper Harbor

This was an excellent place to stay. We enjoyed our visit enormously. Mel & Vera are personable and friendly. The cabin is clean and comfortable and has an excellent view out over the lake. In addition, there is a swing right by the water. There are lots of windows to open for fresh air and cool breezes. We especially appreciated that they had arrangements for recycling glass, plastic, etc. There is a long clothesline right by the cabin, in case you have towels, etc. to dry. The only down-side: the shower is meant for someone who is about 4 feet tall. Overall, we would definitely go back in the future.

Great Copper Harbor cottage

Mel and Vera are wonderful hosts. The cottage is clean and comfortable with an updated kitchen and bathroom. The setting is amazing--the backyard is right on Copper Harbor with a view out to Lake Superior. The sunsets in Copper Harbor are incredibly beautiful. Late one night we watched the Perseid Meteor Shower--there is so little light pollution up here that we could even see the Milky Way. The meteors were visible from out backyard swing right on the harbor. The area has so much to explore--parks, harbors, lighthouses, hiking trails, historic Fort Wilkins, numerous waterfalls, copper mines. The cottage is great, and the area is amazing!

Even Better Than the Pictures!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. as listed, its perfect for a couple to enjoy. The interior is nicer than the pictures illustrate (though they’re good) particularly when it comes to the kitchen — the kitchen cabinets and appliances are new, there’s ample cookware, dishes and — unlike most every property I’ve ever rented — there’s even a great supply of Tupperware to keep your leftovers! You’ll find a few books, puzzles and games in the living room, and as mentioned the place does not have a television — but who needs it when you can watch the Lake Superior wildlife, waves, freighters and sunsets? Plus you have the deck for morning coffee or evening drinks, the wooden chair swing to watch the sunsets by the shore. The cottage has been completely renovated since its construction in the 1950s, including updated electrical and bathroom (new sink and toilet!). For the UP, this makes it a real standout. Also, if you’re not familiar with UP accommodations, there’s no air conditioning (not necessarily). This is a rare part of the US that doesn’t need it, and with all the windows, the cross breezes are terrific. The bedroom has a queen bed with a super comfortable mattress and you can see the sunrise from bed in the morning. The hosts are accessible, friendly, and very helpful, able to provide recommendations for restaurants and things to do. You’re in walking distance of several great places to eat (Jamsen’s bakery, the fish and chips food truck were our favorites), and the local general store carries any groceries you might have forgotten. We’ll be back.

Cozy Cabin with a great view

My wife and I were very happy with our stay in this cabin. Location is perfect, right on the water, and just a short walk to shops and restaurants. Appliances are upto date, and everything was well maintained. Owners are next door and willing to help with local suggestions. A great place to spend a week in the Harbor.
