Piltraque - louer notre villa de vacances en Andalousie, Espagne

Our fabulous Spanish country villa in Andalucia in southern Spain is the perfect large family holiday home. The house is set in over 4 acres of almond & olive trees in stunning private surroundings in the spanish countryside, but is just 10 minutes from the traditional white Spanish villages of Riogordo and Colmenar and only 35 minutes from Malaga airport.

The house sleeps up to 14 in 6 large bedrooms - two doubles and two twin bedrooms upstairs and two double bedrooms with an extra single bed in each downstairs. The downstairs bedrooms are not connected to the upstairs by an internal staircase but are easily accessible via the pool area. The modern kitchen is fully fitted including a dishwasher. The main living area has air-conditioning for the summer & heating for the winter. TV with DVD and broadband internet access is included. The house has a full size pool - 8m x 4m - with plenty of space around it for sunbathing. In addition there is a separate large games/utility room with dartboard and pool table and a laundry.

Please note that being in the countryside there is approximately 1km of bumpy dirt road from the main road to the villa, so you will need a suitable vehicle. Anything with a bit of clearance should be fine if you drive gently. See the photos.

Things to do: The villa is very well situated to take advantage of the many activities available in the local area. Whether your ideal holiday consists of lying about with a good book or testing the local golf courses then this is the ideal base.

For beach lovers, the villa is within easy reach of the coast - less than 30 minutes drive - with access to numerous beaches. Torre del Mar also has many other activities like the Aqua Velis waterpark at Torre del Mar - one of the largest in Andalucia. Also in Torre del Mar are other activities like Karting del Sol and Ozone bowling.

With the stunning mountain scenery and lots of trails for walking and photography, there is plenty to keep everyone busy.

Alhambra Palace - if you only visit one thing when you are in Andalucia then it has to be the stunning Alhambra Palace in Granada. One of the wonders of the world. Book in advance and ideally well before your holiday. The historical cities of Seville, Cordoba and Rhonda are all within easy driving distance on excellent roads. The caves at Nerja are also worth a visit, as is Nerja itself.

Great villa for a secluded get away

Property is lovely, everything explained in the villa description is accurate and on point. The setting is amazing with rolling hills, the sounds of nature and wonderful star gazing at night. The villa is secluded and you need a decent hire car to tackle the long winding track, it's not a problem but takes some getting used to. It's not a villa you can walk out from. If you want a secluded holiday, with an amazing pool, entertaining games room and the company of only your friends and family in the villa then this is for you.

This villa is beautiful. Would recommend to anyone that wants an out of the way villa in the countryside. Pros:- quiet and secluded- excellent rooms/beds/living areas- pool is amazing- scenery breathtaking- shops local enough to drive and shop for everyday- responsive to questions and queries whilst we were there- overall a superb experience from start to finishCons:- air-con only in the main living area, but a dip in the pool will sort that out- access to the villa is up a long winding dirt track, feels sketchy at first but we did get used to it.Barring these two cons they weren't really an issue once we were settled in as we spent most of our time by the pool or on the balcony. Great place for a relaxing getaway with family. Very child friendly also. Lots of toys and floats for the pool, we also left all of our pool floats and left a load of darts for the next visitors.

Très bon séjour, villa magnifique

Nous étions 10 jeunes à séjourner pendant 10 jours. La villa et les environs sont magnifiques, à environ 30min de malaga. Le propriétaire est très gentil. Le seul point à déplorer est le chemin pour accéder à la villa qui est un peu dur à emprunter. Mais la villa vaut largement le détour, très grande et encore mieux en vrai que sur les photos !

Schöner Urlaub in den Bergen Colmenars

Die Anfahrt war beim ersten Mal gewöhnungsbedürftig, es lohnt sich jedoch. Die Aussicht von der Terasse des Hauses ist unfassbar. Der Pool selbst ist sehr schön. Die technische Ausstattung ist vollfunktionsfähig. Wir bedanken uns für einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in Colmenar.

Stort og lækkert hus i usædvanlig smukke omgivelser. Hjælpsom vært, kan kun varmt anbefales. Eneste minus er adgangsvejen til huset, den er noget besværlig.

Peacefull villa

Villa is well equipped and comfortable. The access road can be a bit challenging for low cars. We really enjoyed the property and the views. The owner was very helpfull and provided all the information we needed.

Lovely villa in a beautiful location

This villa is in a lovely location, there are lovely views from the terraces and pool area of the surrounding hills and mountains. The 2 local villages are very Spanish and very pretty. We also enjoyed a visit to the bee museum in Colmenar and bought some local honey. The lake is also a good place to visit, we hired kayaks, paddle boards and peddlos. -Malaga outdoors was the company, they were really good. There were 6 adults, 4 kids and a baby. A cot and high chair were available which really helped. The pool area is lovely and the games room - the kids loved playing in both over the holiday. The track to the villa is a little worse than we expected and did put some of our party off going out, we had a caddy van type car and would recommend at least one of those. Overall a lovely family holiday in a beautiful location

Thank you for your kind review. It really is an idyllic spot although being a country villa the track can be quite challenging if there has been a lot of rain in the spring. We do try to warn guests to hire a suitable vehicle. The local villages and residents are lovely - the main reason we bought in this area.

Secluded, Scenic, Well equipped Villa

Just returned from an excellent stay at Piltraque. The villa is beautiful as are the views from it. It is well equipped and comfortable, and the games room was a great bonus, copious beach towels also provided. Extra fridge in the utility was useful for extra drinks etc . The track up and down the hill is challenging for larger vehicles though possible (we did it with a 9 seater Peugeot) so would advise to ensure you have plenty of stores in from your supermarket shops so you don't need to pop up and down the hill unnecessarily. We picked up water, cava/wine, bread, milk, ham etc on alternate day out days between lazy pool days but everyone will find their own routine. Just remember no shopping on Sundays . Did day trips to Granada , Cordoba, the Beach (Colin's recommended one in the Villa book) and Malaga itself. Also recommend Caminito del Rey as a day trip if you have not been there, breathtaking views along a gorge walk, but up to 10km walking so bear that in mind. Colin was helpful in all organisational aspects of the trip and the pool guy unobstrusive and effecient in his pool service work. Would definitely return if only to look out over the hills at sunset from the pool terrace with a glass of bubbly!

A house with a view!

This house is wonderful with a magnificent view! You will need a big car because it's high in the mountains to get there, there is literally no one else their accept yourself and just because of that, it's breathtaking. The house lays also very center near two beautiful villages named Colmenar and Riogordo, the owner and his wife are very helpful if you have a question just ask, and he will do his very best to help you, they are top owners!! So we had a very beautiful vacation thanks to the owner and the location 👍👍👍

Estancia muy agradable

Una acogida con productos locales agradables y simpática. La casa es muy bien equipada, con todas las comodidades, incluso libros y juegos para los más jóvenes. Los problemas de gas fueron arreglados muy rápido por el propietario sin que tengamos nada que hacer, excepto decírselo. El camino para llegar a la casa es accidentado, con rocas y necesita un vehículo adaptado, pero ya lo sabíamos con los consejos de Colin. La estancia fue agradable, tranquila con el placer de aprovechar la piscina después de recorrer Sevilla, Granada o Córdoba.

amazing

Just returned from a family hoilday the villa was plenty big enough as there was 14 of us lots of areas to chillout on your own if needed. The pool area was great we all spent most of our time there. Nice touch have pool inflatables to use and beach towels. The games room kept us all entertained excellent addition to the villa. The views were stunning total peace and relaxation. The villa had everything you could want and the welcome pack was a nice touch. The dirt track up to the villa was somthing eles apart from the drivers most of us tried to avoid it. Without a doubt you need a car to get about as nowhere is in walking diatance although we did walk to colmenar and took over an hour. The villa was more remote than we thought but still had a fantastic time. Colin the owner was a great help and lyn and jo were so helpful to us and such nice people.

Quiet Holiday

Our whole family (8 people) stayed at Piltraque for one week in August. The weather, not unexpectedly was very hot and the air con in the villa was very welcome. The description of the villa is very accurate with the added adventure of negotiating the track up to it. It was quite exciting the first time we drove up to the villa, but after a few trips in and out we got the hang of it and found it was best to go slow, in bottom gear and enjoy the view. The position of the villa is amazing, sort of hanging on the side of a mountain, surrounded by steep slopes covered in almond and olive trees. A farmer was harvesting the almonds while we were there and we vow never to question the price of almonds again. The villa is very large, with 2 large en suite bedrooms downstairs, which were very cool even on the hottest day. Upstairs, the master bedroom has air con, but the others were a bit warmer (mostly because my family err on the side of caution and refuse to have the windows open at night!) I would not hesitate to recommend this property if you, like us, want a remote, comfortable and private accommodation. Don't think it would suit anyone who likes to shop easily! Stunning views.

Everything we wanted for a quiet family hiliday

8 adults & 5 children(5years up to 8yrs)stayed for 7 days and really enjoyed ourselves. The house had every thing we needed & was very clean The kids spent most of the days in and around the pool. The drive up was fine as we were all used to off roading! & the surrounding villages had everything we wanted although we did a big shop in Eroski in Anteqera when we arrived. We spent one day on the beach near Malaga (reached in 40 mins) & hopefully will return next year

Wonderful Well Designed Villa,

I have just spent four weeks at Piltraque and have found the villa, location and views to be fantastic. The villa is equipped to a very high standard. The design with the wrap around upper terrace ensures there is always a breeze, even in the heat of summer. The rooms are lovely and tastefully decorated. The pool was good and the outside eating area was used by us every day. The track up to Piltraque could be off putting, however we found it to be relatively easy, even with a lower bodied convertable car. We had five groups of friends and family staying with us at various times. It was an excellent place for a get together and all our guests thought the villa and surrounding area was an ideal location for a relaxed holiday. The nearby town of Riogordo is friendly and has a good number of bars and restaurants, as does Colmenar. Granada and Cordoba are within easy day trip distance and there are many interesting places to visit within an hours drive. I happily recommend this villa for families and friends, especially larger groups. There is enough room at Piltraque to have your teenagers at a distance for much of the time, always a plus point!
