La partie antique d'origine de la maison comprend un salon au premier étage avec foyer non fonctionnel, une salle de jeux et une cuisine contemporaine qui est ouverte sur une généreuse salle familiale de 2 étages avec une lumière du jour énorme et un accès à la terrasse arrière et à la cour privée.

Le deuxième étage de l'antique a une grande chambre avant donnant sur la rue avec un lit double, une grande commode, une table d'appoint et un dressing. La chambre est accessible depuis l'escalier avant ou l'escalier arrière par le couloir. Au deuxième étage se trouve également une petite chambre avec lit double, table d'appoint, bureau et fenêtre orientée à l'est. De l'autre côté du couloir se trouve une troisième chambre avec un lit double et un lit double en alcôve pour les jeunes. Le grand meuble et les tiroirs intégrés rendent les séjours plus longs faciles et pratiques.

Pour compléter le deuxième étage, une salle de bains rénovée avec du carrelage, une nouvelle douche, des toilettes et des toilettes. Accessible depuis la salle de bain par une ouverture cintrée, le coin salle de bain avec canapé et rangement pour armoire. La pièce est mise en valeur par des vitraux et une porte donnant sur un balcon donnant sur la salle familiale.

Le dernier étage est un studio avec lit king-size, un coin salon avec table, un coin lecture sur canapé, un dressing et un placard coulissant en miroir, une salle de bain complète avec une merveilleuse sensation de lucarne. Le studio a une entrée semi-privée depuis l'escalier avant - le foyer d'entrée et son propre escalier arrière pour une sortie de secours vers l'escalier arrière de la maison avec un accès partagé aux premier et deuxième étages.

Cette maison peut fonctionner de manière flexible comme une location familiale avec de la place pour un invité ou deux ou deux réservations distinctes d'invités (maison uniquement ou 3ème étage avec salle de bains uniquement). Amazing historical house, complete with antique furnishings. Even a piano (I play) with a great "old" tone to it. The backyard and firepit are so relaxing with a great view of stars. You can walk to an amazing breakfast place and restaurants, as well as the water. Perfect!

Lovely old home with modern amenities! Walking distance to the wharf and lovely shopping streets, as well as footpaths to beautiful views. Stop and smell the flowers

Very nice home. I love a good bath. The jetted tub in the master suite was much appreciated. Lovely backyard. When you step outside you can smell flowers in the yard and along the street. No need to drive at this vacation spot. In walking distance to a variety of waterfronts,shops, and restaurants. I was concerned a bit about no central AC but the home stayed cool and comfortable even during a couple day heat advisory. There are AC units that worked well. Would recommend as well as stay again

What a beautiful home! Perfectly attired/ we had everything we needed. Comfortable, clean, great location with off street parking. It was so easy to stay here! Owners are thoughtful and communicative. Will definitely look to return!

Family vacation

Great location walkable to shops and restaurants downtown as well as some beaches. Some challenging stairs or ceiling heights for larger/taller adults, however the uniqueness and charm outweigh the tight spots. My kids thought they were exploring Hogwarts and they loved it.

We were a multi generational family staying together and participating in a wider family gathering. The ability to be in a home rather than a hotel made our time together more congenial. Charming historic home by the sea!

Wonderful stay at this charming home. Originally booked for our family of 4 and wound up having grandparents and cousins join. Loved the stocked-for-cooking kitchen, well curated library, and airy family room w/ table for eating together. Excellent second floor shower. Cozy touches all over. Chemical-free bath and washing products. Washer + dryer. Ample fans and A/C. Beach gear. Tons of games. A short walk to Brothers, Front Beach, Bearskin Neck, etc. Quiet backyard with a grill. Bird song every morning. Folks with mobility challenges may find it hard to have no first floor bathroom. People over 5'7 will find the upper level tricky w/o 24-7 hunching or bumping (though the big bed is very cozy). You can tell this is a well-loved home. We hope to visit again!

Special place

This is truly a very special house. It is more spacious than it looks and is full of wonderful nooks and crannies to explore. My grandchildren and my cocker spaniel loved it. I would happily spend summers there if I could. Morning walks to town and the beach were amazing. The back room was our favourite with the natural light. It had everything we needed and would highly recommend it. There are some narrow stairways but even those with issues managed fine, using the wider stairs at the front of the house.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was just wonderful. It was a Home that we could imagine Fisherman or lobster man and their family living. The property was advertised as just steps from beaches and shops and it was true we walked downTown to the shops and to the beaches. The streets and the beaches were clean and well manicured. The shops were wonderful all in all we had a great time and look forward to returning.

The house served our general needs while we were there with 3 dogs! However, we found it difficult to relax as the house seemed overcrowded with A LOT of heavily upholstered furniture of MANY different patterns and way too many knick-knacks. There were all sorts of odd leftovers from previous renters... i.e.. nail polish, half-used bars of soap, etc.

Great location in cute town!

We stayed in partridge house with our 9 year old twins and 60 year old parents and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. The location was perfect and we walked into town multiple times per day, either to the beach or for shopping or for dinner and ice cream. The owners were super easy and nicely provided some good coffee (plus some condiments and spices and teas to get us started). The backyard was even nicer than photos as there was a table for 4 on the porch (we squeezed kids in no prob) and some relaxing chairs in the yard. Would definitely stay again!

Great place to stay! We enjoy how easy it is to walk to Bearskin Neck and front beach. Well supplied with everything we needed (bath,kitchen, etc.). Kids enjoy the 3 levels to this house as it gives them their own space.

Great location, quirky in a good way

This is a quintessential and well-kept New England property, with all the narrow hallways, odd staircases, built-in bookcases, window a/c, and funny angles that you would expect if you're familiar with the area. We love this kind of charm, it's precisely what we visit for - your mileage may vary. Only note, and the owner is honest about this in the description: if you are over 5'10'' tall, maybe swap the top floor master suite with its very low ceilings (but spacious layout and comfy lounge area) for one of the smaller bedrooms on the 2nd floor - save your head a bump or two. At the same time, the rest of the house feels open and airy and spacious - big kitchen with plenty of amenities, easy parking, plenty of rooms to spread out in, even for our party of 3 adults and 4 kids, and a beautiful backyard and patio, full of flowers and birds. Owner Andy visited briefly to fix a leaky shower head and wobbly table that the previous tenants reported. He was respectful in planning a time, quick with repairs, and told good stories while he was there - all hallmarks of a great VRBO owner. And location - chef's kiss! 1 block to a pizza/grinder joint owned by cheerful Brazillians that served the perfect post-beach-day take-home foods...3 blocks to Brother's Brew for the best coffee on donuts on Bearskin...5 blocks to Bearskin shopping and restaurants...8 blocks to Front Beach. Everything was extremely walkable and that made this property even more enjoyable.

Andy is an Architect who works in Boston. Dorothy is a UX Designer. We are both MIT alums and we have three adult daughters, all of whom have contributed in creating the Partridge House experience.

The house is on one of the original streets with a great variety of house styles. The mix of the old and new in Partridge House, albeit eclectic, is in keeping with the Rockport atmosphere. The house is just far enough away from busy downtown to feel relaxed, yet close enough for a quick jaunt to get into the midst of the town's attractions. We've already met many of our neighbors and the connections are beginning to strengthen our love for this town. We are enthusiastic about our place and look forward to nurturing and sharing its unique qualities.

When you're not there, we enjoy as our shore getaway and it reflects our personal tastes with hallmarks to its past from the 1800's.
