Maison au sommet d'une falaise enchanteresse

Casa del Tajo - «La maison sur la falaise» occupe une position unique, surplombant le paysage montagneux spectaculaire d'Andalousie. Il est proche de la piscine du village (juillet / août) et à seulement quelques minutes à pied du centre du village de montagne pittoresque de Comares, qui se trouve à 700m d'altitude. pris la piste escarpée qui serpente sous la falaise. Faites attention aux crécerelles, qui nichent sur le rocher sous vous. Comares, avec ses rues étroites et pavées, est chargée d'histoire et remonte au 3ème siècle avant JC. Aujourd'hui, il y a des bars, des restaurants, des banques et un petit supermarché. Le rythme de vie est lent et conforme au passé. La maison se compose de 5 chambres, 4 doubles et 1 simple.
(La chambre dans le dôme est autonome avec sa propre kitchenette, salon et salle de douche avec un canapé-lit double dans le salon) 3 salles de bains, une avec baignoire, deux avec cabines de douche, cuisine / salle à manger, salon / salle à manger. La maison est sur plusieurs niveaux avec des escaliers assez raides à l'intérieur et des marches à l'extérieur, pas vraiment adaptés aux très petits enfants mais bien pour les plus âgés.

We were a group of 9 Over 60s and we all absolutely loved the house. It is utterly charming and so quirky. Plenty of space for everyone and it is well catered for with everything you would need. The views from every aspect of the house are stunning and the top terrace was the perfect space for sundowners! Tim was a great host too and dealt with a small problem quickly and efficiently. We will definitely go back there.

Amazing place

We traveled as a group of 4 adults in October. On arrival, the villa is just as stunning as the pictures.Lovely outdoor terraces and incredible views. The plunge pool is bigger than it looks in the photos but, being October, we didn't brave a dip. The only thing lacking was a couple of sun-loungers on the downstairs terrace - but perhaps these had simply been put away, being later in the year. Inside, it the house is well equipped with everything you'd need and spotlessly clean. The welcome pack was much appreciated as we arrived late at night. Yes, there are a lot of stairs and steps throughout and it's a bit like a rabbit warren in places, but this just adds to the character and charm. There is a self-contained apartment at the top of the house and an amazing roof terrace. Comares itself is a beautiful, very traditional village and easy to walk into from the villa. The local shop, although small, has all the basics you might want and it's lovely to sit in the square and just watch the world go by. For the adventurous, there's rock climbing and zip-wiring nearby but, if you just want to chill, this is the perfect place. Communication was brilliant throughout, with clear directions and a friendly welcome from Clair, who met us and showed us around on arrival. This really is a very special place and would be fantastic for a break at any time of year. Thank you Kate and Tim for sharing your beautiful home!

Amazing, unique property but need a car

We had a really amazing stay at the villa. It is certainly unique and quirky! The roads up to the villa are a bit twisty but in good condition so there is nothing to worry about from that perspective. You definitely need a car to enjoy the area, but Comares itself has everything that you may need for a stay if you aren't able to get out and about too much. The property itself has plenty of room in distinctly separate areas which is a good thing in a larger group and it had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. It was very clean and there was always somewhere to sit in the shade within the gardens. The views are obviously spectacular across the countryside and up into Comares, there is even interest in the climbers underneath your feet! We had mountain goats trotting through the gardens too, which was certainly an experience! The top "apartment" into the domed ceiling is airconditioned, but the rest of the house does not have air conditioning and, on occasion, although there were fans provided, on the hottest days it was quite warm inside the villa. However, very often there was a mountain breeze that swept across the villa which was extremely welcome most afternoons! Kate and Tim were very helpful and welcoming, they are lucky to have such a lovely property in such a nice area with commanding views across Spain. Comares itself has a swimming pool close by which we all enjoyed for very little expenditure: 1 euro for kids 2 euros for us adults. As expected, this house is in a *relatively* remote area, so to get anywhere does take some time, although actual distances are not that far, but you can get to the beach within 40 minutes or so by car and into Malaga within an hour so there is plenty to do around the area. In summary, book it! You won't be disappointed!

Beautiful house in a beautiful area.

We rented the whole house (i.e., the two main floors and the upstairs apartment) for the months of February and March (2018). We thoroughly enjoyed our two months in Comares. Mrs. Wright organized the rental agreement and sent us detailed instructions on how to reach Comares from the airport by car. Clair, who lives nearby, met us when we arrived and showed us where to park our rental car and explained the details of the house, which she had expertly cleaned just before our arrival. February was colder than normal but Claire ordered wood for us that we used in one of the two wood stoves. The house is very roomy, and the 5 bedrooms were more than adequate for the 6 people that occupied it most of the month of March. There are a lot of stairs and some low doorways but the house is charming. The kitchen is quite spacious, as is the living room on the second floor, and several of the bedrooms. The beds had good mattresses and the views from the living room and the three terraces were fantastic. The inhabitants of Comares were very friendly and patient with our poor Spanish. Many made a special point to say good-bye to us when we left. It is a very close and friendly community. Kate and Tim returned from a trip at the end of February and responded immediately to a couple of suggestions/requests we made. They also allowed us to stay past the check-out time on our last day. Although the month of February was quite cool, Comares is surrounded by almond orchards that were in bloom (white to pink flowers) all month. We always heard bees buzzing and birds chirping when we sat beside a very fragrant almond tree on the largest terrace, or when we walked on the many trails in the local area. All in all, it was a lovely house located in a lovely village in a very picturesque landscape.

très belle maison avec vue magnifique

Très belle maison en bordure du village de Comares. Les commerces du village (boulangerie, petit super marché, pharmacie, bars et restaurants) sont à 5 min à pieds. De belles balades balisées (de 1h à 6h) partent de Comares. Les villes de Cordou, Ronda et Grenade sont à environ 2h de voiture (compter 45 min de lacets car le village de Comares est à 700m d'altitude). En hiver, ce sont les cheminées qui chauffent la maison car le système de chauffage est limité. La maison est très belle, positionnée à flan de falaise. Nous étions 8, et la maison était suffisamment dimensionnée pour. Nous prenions les repas dans le salon du haut car la cuisine aurait été un peu petite. L'espace extérieur est très agréable pour les repas.

Magnifique maison avec beaucoup de caractère, réellement accrochée à la montagne et surtout avec une vue splendide. La maison est conforme à la description. Attention, il y a de nombreuses marches mais c'est aussi ce qui fait le charme de cette maison.

Nous avons passé une semaine dans cette magnifique maison. Les hôtes sont très avenants (nous ont laissé quelques aliments dans le frigo au début du voyage, peuvent être contactés durant le voyage si il y a un problème, très gentils). La maison et le linge de maison fourni sont très propres.La maison est très agréable et la vue splendide. La maison est très spacieuse, originale et agréable. La ville de Comares est magnifique et les habitants très gentils.Les activités y sont nombreuses et agréables (randonnées pour tous les niveaux, escalade sur la falaise, plages à quelques kilomètres). Il y a tout pour vivre dans la ville (petit supermarché, pharmacie, bars, restaurants, etc.). Merci pour cette semaine de repos dans un cadre très agréable. A. LEGER

We loved our 10 day stay at this property. The house has stunning views from almost every window and (literally!) being on the edge of the tiny village, meant a 1 minute walk to the bar for morning coffee and another minute to the (very good) supermarket for supplies. We were 2 families, including 3 teenagers and the house had lots of different areas where we could have our own space if needed. The house was very comfortable, had everything we needed and we felt at home immediately. We would happily stay again at this unique place and the lovely village of Comares.

It is an enchanting cliff top house

This is a completely different place to stay. Yes it is quirky, but you have so many different options, of where to eat, sleep or to relax. We chose to sleep in the dome, as you wake up looking across the valley. You also have your own private Balcon Comares and yes, you do see people climbing the rocks below you!.

Stunning views in a tranquil setting

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very well equipped and every room had its own charm. It was also nice to have a welcome pack on our arrival . The owners Kate & Tim were easily contactable for advice about local amenities. The views were amazing and the locals very friendly. There are some great local restaurants, the small supermarket in the village is well stocked and a huge supermarket in the shopping mall at Torre del Mar . The house had a lot of steps which some elderly visitors may find challenging but we got used to this quite quickly and it was worth it for the views from the top terrace. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Fabulous

The house was amazing and immaculate. The location is stunning with great views from all around but especially from the top terrace where we spent most of our time. Lots of room for our family and extremely comfortable inside the house. You are only a couple of minutes from the very friendly village which has excellent restaurants and various bars. All in all we had a fabulous holiday and hope to return one day.

Super house with lots of inside and outside space

This house was superb and the village had everything we needed. The views from the house were amazing and changed with the weather. We had snow on the hills some days and then lovely blue skies and sunshine. The locals were really friendly and the village shop had everything we needed so no mad dashes to the larger supermarkets! We would like to return in the springtime as the almond trees were not in flower and a few degrees warmer would have been nice!!

It is very good to know that the house (including the apartment) was enjoyed by this large group of guests. Our guests seem to like the uniqueness of this property with its dome, various terraces and majestic views.
