Villa Arethousa est situé dans trois hectares dans la moitié centrale luxuriante de l'île grecque d'Eubée. Peaceful paradise

It’s in a remote setting but tbis means you are in tranquility and peace. The property was clean, well equipped with lovely views from all floors. Photos are spot on, the pool is aweoeme the beach is a short (but steep!) walk away, a lovely place to relax ans enjoy some peaceful time

Week away in heaven

Stayed for an absolutely blissful week at this beautiful villa. Views are stunning. Pool size is a bonus with a couple of massaging jets. Perfect. Everything you would need for a fantastic stay is provided. What more could you want?

Greatest view

The house and the surrounding are supurb. In reality the view is more beautiful than the pictures. We were here the last week of October and we swam every day, the temperature was still good. We recommend this house, which is also very well equipped, for a vacation in a beautiful private setting!

Lovely villa, amazing pool and fantastic views. A lot of stairs, so not for those who have mobility issues. Effective air con in every room. Location is very quiet so not much night life but that's the way we like it. Access is by a narrow track and a car is essential. Nearby beach had jelly fish when we visited it so ended up by staying at the pool every day. Which was fine by us, the pool is very large. Only draw back we found was the small, dumb TV. Bring a smart TV dongle such as a fire stick or Chromecast.

Un séjour au Paradis

Mon mari et moi avons absolument adoré notre premier séjour à Villa Arethousa cet été. Nous sommes tombés amoureux du charme de la région, de la vue, de la limpidité de la mer et de la fraicheure et senteure des aliments. La villa est spacieuse, trés bien équippée et d'une propreté immaculée. La bibliothéque regorge de guides touristiques et de livres sur la région. Entourée par le panorama spectaculaire des montagnes, des oliviers et de la mer, la villa est le site idéal pour ceux à la recherche d'un site relaxant pour des vacances paisibles. Les excellentes tavernes à une courte distance en voiture de la villa offrent des choix variés. Cependant, la taverne de Nerotrivia qui est aussi une boucherie, est vite devenue notre cantine favorite (quand mon mari ne cuisinait pas). La baignade dand la mer à Dafni est inoubliable. Dit is zonder twijfel één van de allermooiste vakantiehuizen waar we ooit verbleven hebben. Het uitzicht is echt fantastisch. Het is in werkelijkheid nog veel mooier dan de foto’s. Verder is het huis zelf ook perfect. Het is met veel zorg en aandacht ingericht. Je voelt je er direct thuis.De eigenaar, Ares, is erg aardig en behulpzaam. Hetzelfde geldt voor Katherina die we tijdens de checkout ontmoet hebben. Helaas hadden we het huis maar voor één week gehuurd. Dat is veel te kort om het eiland zelf goed te ontdekken. Wat we er tot nu toe van gezien hebben, heeft ons alleen maar maar positief verrast. Het is hier prachtig en nog helemaal niet toeristisch. We raden deze plek dan ook van harte aan.

We stayed in Arethousa Villa last year, and liked it so much that we had to come back. The view from the upper balcony across to the Greek mainland is unforgettable, and indeed it was this that drew us back. The tranquility is tangible, with a light breeze ruffling the pines and the swifts diving across the surface of the pool.The pool is the best I have ever known, an impressive 12m x 8m and a deep end you can dive into without any fear of hitting (or even finding) the bottom.The villa is quite isolated which we like, but it does mean a short drive to even the nearest taverna. A warm welcome, when the owner remembered us from a year ago.

Carefree holiday

We had two wonderful weeks on this wild island. Thanks to the very pleasant communication with Ares and also Katerina on site, we were well informed and taken care of. The house leaves nothing to be desired and offers wonderful views of the sea and mountains on three levels with the large glass doors and balconies. The weather was unfortunately very stormy and therefore sometimes quite cool, but we still used the fantastic pool almost every day. We enjoyed the peace and seclusion very much. In the evenings, we had several visits from wild boars and even foxes came to the pool from time to time. We would be happy to spend another holiday there and send a big thank you and all the best! Wir wollten ein Haus abseits vom Tourismus, eingebettet in ursprünglicher Natur mit Blick auf's Meer. Unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen! Das Haus liegt in einer traumhaften, geradezu mystischen Umgebung.....Der Blick auf den Golf von Euböa mitsamt seinen Sonnenuntergängen ist grandios!! Die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit bereitete uns ein unermessliches Gefühl von Freiheit und gleichzeitig Geborgenheit. Das Haus und dessen Einrichtung lassen überdies keine Wünsche offen: die Ausstattung der Küche , die Geräumigkeit, die Funktionalität der Klimaanlagen, die Aussendusche usw.. Jedes Detail ist durchdacht und besticht sowohl durch Funktionalität als auch Ästhetik. Das Sahnehäubchen ist der Pool!! Gross genug, sehr sauber und von aussen nicht einsehbar. Vielen Dank auch an Ares für die fürsorgliche und liebevolle Kommunikation :-) Wir kommen wieder :-))

Fabulous house with amazing views

I find it very hard to find houses that combine location with great decor. It really matters to me that the interior is also lovely as we usually go 'out of season' for walking, so we spend a lot of time indoors in the evening where we enjoy cooking and having a fire. This house has everything. I can imagine it is also amazing in the summer, as there is a great pool and a beach below. I spent an enormous amount of time online trying to find the perfect spot and this was it. !! Ares answers everything promptly and helpfully and I am just sorry we missed meeting him.

A Trip to paradise

Dear Ares, thank you very much for the wonderful stay at one of your houses. The villa is such a beautiful place and we didn´t miss anything. Even the beach (800m away) was empty EVERY day, we went there. Thank you for all the "tourist- information" ;-) you gave us and for your kindness. I think we will come back one day. Best wishes Maria & Martin Das Haus ist wirklich wunderschön. Da wir außerhalb der Saison dort waren, war es wirklich sehr ruhig, also die absolute Entspannung. Ein schöner großer Pool und der einsame Strand nur 800m zu Fuß die "Straße" runter laden zum Genießen ein. Wer nicht will, muss hier den ganzen Tag keinen Menschen zu Gesicht bekommen. Man sollte sich aber auf keinen Fall die leckeren Gerichte in den Tavernen der Umgebung entgehen lassen. Alle Ausflüge in die Umgebung sind leicht zu bewältigen, die Straßen allerdings teilweise extrem schlecht, also ein SUV ist anzuraten. Alles in Allem ein perfekter Urlaub mit wunderschönen Bildern und Erinnerungen und absoluter Entspannung.

Stunning views

This is an exceptional property, with fine views and a peaceful location. It is equipped to a high standard and for a rural area it has a very good internet connection. I have rented several properties in Greece in recent years and this by far the best. Highly recommended.

Living as Zeus in Mount Olympus

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks in Areshouse! We had it all: sunshine, thunderstorms, rain, which caused some magnificant effects into our views. Whatever the weather was, the villa was always cosy and gave us the feeling of being home (a very luxurious home). At sunny days we had a swim, maybe cold but a really proper swim. The house has many English tourist guides and books, so you do not have to bring your own! We experienced some smaller issues (internet, shower), but they were immediately and effectively fixed. Many tourist attractions are reachable within a 2-hours drive. We fellt in love in the island of Evia: is feels very authentic, the people are charming and helpful and nature is stunning. The tavernas nearby offer good Greek food, reasonably priced and served with a big smile. We really want to thank Ares, the owner, to gave us the opportunity of enjoying his beautiful villa! Also thanks to Dimitri of taking care of the practical things. For us it was definitely a big 5* holiday in every way!
