Villa Charlotte est une magnifique ancienne maison de capitaine de mer, située de façon unique en bord de mer dans le paisible et charmant village de Viganj. Offrant des vues panoramiques spectaculaires sur la Riviera de Peljesac et Korcula, la villa possède une richesse de charme et conserve de nombreuses caractéristiques originales. La grande terrasse en bord de mer dispose d'une salle de douche et a un accès direct à la mer et est idéale pour bronzer, se divertir et nager. A proximité se trouvent une variété de bars, cafés et restaurants et un supermarché. Viganj est célèbre pour tous les sports nautiques. Les écoles de plongée et les écoles de planche à voile sont à proximité.

Truly wonderful place

The villa is at the very best location in Vignaj, very close to everything, with very nice views and you can literally jump to the sea from the terrace. We really loved the villa and the overall experience was wonderful.

Fabulous waterfront holiday house, lots of space with a huge terrace and close the the water sports activities. Very easy check in, very straight forward communications with the owner and then manager. Kitchen is a little dated but shower room, bathroom and bedrooms and living area all excellent. Will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful setting, responsive host

Utterly stunning setting, lovely charming area, house is spacious and couldn't be closer to the water. Photos of the house are accurate and host is very responsive over email. Thank you and we would love to come back!

Great location!

Excellent location on this stretch of coast line which is a windsurfing / kite surfing mecca. The Villa is in a great location - everything in easy reach. Great places to eat / small supermarket that stocks all the essentials and bakery with various treats! The Villa is large - ample space for the 7 of us. Loved being so close to the sea!

Great house in superb location

This is one of the best properties in Viganj as it is directly on the waterfront. Attractive house with 4 bedrooms - ample space for family of 6. We have stayed in other villa’s nearby and this experience was the best. The kids spent most of the week in the water. Bringing or hiring a paddleboard will enhance the stay. There is a mooring buoy if you want to hire a boat. Everything is in walking distance- restaurants, water sports and activities. Easy to hire a taxi from Dubrovnik or Split. The house is clean and comfortable inside.

Old Fisherman's House in a fantastic Location

Villa Charlotte is probably the house with the best location in Viganj directly at the sea. The interior except for the bathroom in the basement is a little bit outdated, but you can see this well on the pictures and decide if you want something more modern. In the end we spent most of our time on the terrace and did not mind so much about how the house looked from the inside. The village of Viganj is a relaxed place with some nice restaurants and not far away from Orebic, where the ferry to Korcula-Town departs. If you are looking for a house directly at the sea we can highly recommend Villa Charlotte.

Traumurlaub

Wir konnten uns wirklich wunderbar erholen. Die fantastische Lage direkt am Meer gibt es nicht zu toppen. Bäcker, Supermarkt und Obst-und Gemüsestand sind fußläufig erreichbar, so dass das Auto stehen bleiben kann, außer für Ausflüge. Auch ist der Ort nicht von Touristen überlaufen, so dass auch hier Entspannung genossen werden kann. Wir möchten auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

An absolutely unique place.

What a stunning villa and so much better than in the photos. The outdoor area is fantastic and the sunsets are spectacular. The rooms are spacious and the views from the windows are second to none. Loved listening to the lapping waves! Highly recommend.

Spectacular Seafront Villa

The blue villa on the seafront is perfect! We have just returned after a two week stay to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have made a better choice. Everything we needed was within a 5 minute walk from the villa. There is a well stocked shop with a lovely bakery about 200 m away and many places to eat nearby. We had a nice meal at Konoba Forte, which is just 100m from the house. We had great pizza at Restaurant Martimo which is 100m further on from the shop. But the restaurant we used most was Karmella, which has an island seating area that we reserved for our wedding anniversary, just a 2 minute walk from Villa Charlotte. They serve a delicious calamari and lovely draught beer! The staff were very friendly. This side of Viganj is quiet and is perfect for relaxing. If you walk in the opposite direction along the quiet seafront road you eventually arrive at the watersport centre. There are many windsurfing/kitesurfing schools where you can hire equipment or book lessons. This side of the village had more bars and was popular with the younger members of the family. We spent most days sunbathing on the patio enjoying the breathtaking view. It was great being able to dive into the sea from the patio and we spent a lot of time snorkeling. When you come out of the sea there is an outside shower, which was useful to wash away the salt. Above the shower there is a raised seating area which was spectacular. If it got too hot in the afternoon you could sit here under the straw roof and cool off in the breeze. On the side of the house there is a great BBQ. Every other day you can buy fresh fish from the quay by the shop. We would recommend the Sea bream which was lovely cooked on the BBQ watching lovely sunsets over the bay. We would recommend an evening visit to Korcula, which is like a mini Dubrovnik. We caught the ferry from the quay by the shop. But you can also hire a water taxi. We booked our transfer with Octopus transfers, who we would highly recommend. Everything we needed was in the villa; high speed wifi, spacious comfortable rooms, plenty of towels and plates, glasses etc. We had a very memorable and enjoyable stay and we hope to return one day.

The blue jewel in Viganj

If you are lucky enough to book this wonderful place ( we have tried for years but the school holidays have always been booked) then you are in for a treat. The house has its own large original stone jetty which projects into the sea from which you can jump or dive into the clear blue waters of the Adriatic. The corner of the jetty has a raised seated area which is covered from where you can enjoy the stunning view, read,draw,paint,share wine and food or just sit and simply be in the moment. The cover protects you from the middle of the day rays....perfect. The views from the upstairs bedrooms are breathtaking. A supermarket is 200 yards down the road with its own bakery and local ferry to Kortula town. 100 yards in the other direction is Konoba Forte where the menu changes daily and is fabulous. There are several other fresh veg and fruit shops within walking distance and another excellent eatery in Kukiste, a lovely mile walk south along the shore road. You really don't to leave this place but if you are looking for another little gem head through Orebic ,take the right turn to Postup and carry on to Podobuce with its beautiful little harbour and very clear water, great for snorkelling.Parking can be a challenge but worth it. The property has excellent air conditioning but we rarely used it as the daily breeze works perfectly through the old shutters to keep the place cool. We had severn wonderful days with no complaints . Come and enjoy.

180th Celebrations

Three of the six who stayed the week in this beautiful house were celebrating a 60th birthday and it was the perfect location to do that. The outdoor raised deck was the scene of all of our meals and had breathtaking views of the waterfront and island opposite. The kitchen was also large enough to accommodate the energetic cooks and the huge front patio with reclining deck chairs allowed all to read for hours. The 3 bedrooms upstairs were all comfortable and had amazing views over the water. It was a perfect getaway yet close enough to Dubrovnik and Korcula for a day trip.

A picture tells a thousand words .

From booking this villa to leaving it the owner could not have been more helpful. I was on holiday with my three young adult sons and my sons girlfriend so we wanted somewhere to suit all tastes. My sons are into water sports particularly kite surfing and I like walking. I had not realised at the time of booking exactly how convenient the location was as the kite schools were a 10 min walk from the villa. That area was busier with a few bars and the opposite direction of the villa a couple more restaurants and slightly quieter end of the village . Although this in all realitive as the whole place was not teeming with people. The local shop was a 5 min walk away where fresh bread and croissants were baked throughout the day. We also chartered a small boat from Orebic (7 km away) at a very reasonable price and a lovely town with good restaurants. We took the ferry from Viganj to Korcula which was perfect for an evening meal and then ferry home. In the mornings you open the shutters to the most amazing vista and hop over the wall for a swim in the calm waters. The wind picks up in the afternoons for the water sports. The reason why I did not give 5 stars was only small details- like mats for the sun beds - perhaps a separate shower and the furniture to be more updated. But for our family- this was not important. The beds were comfortable- air conditioning should you want it, good WiFi speed and being able to hop into the sea 2 meters away. Amazing!The housekeeper Fani was very accomading too.This is a place that we shall return to.

I am so very pleased that you all had such a wonderful holiday, and that you plan to return. The Villa is old & as owners we quite like our furniture. We do not put pads on the sun loungers because we find it impossible to keep such things clean, we do however provide ample amounts of think beach towels to fully cover the sun loungers, as we show in the terrace pictures. Highly recommended

The description and photos of the villa are accurate, it has an understated 'old grandeur', and everything you could need for a completely relaxing vacation. For those wishing to make the most of the villa, the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and it's hard to beat eating, drinking and sunbathing on the terrace, and jumping from there straight into the sea! There are a couple of local shops (including a 'winoteque'!) selling a good range of fresh fruit and veg, all the staples and, of course, the local olive oil and wine. There's a handful of restaurants and bars within walking distance so there are things to do in the evening, but it's wonderfully quiet and not touristy. We are vegetarian and found the locals to be friendly and willing to accommodate our dietary needs. For those who love watersports, this is an outstanding venue for windsurfing, kitesurfing, and paddleboarding, and you can rent equipment very near the villa at a reasonable price. The owner could not have been more helpful and seemed to genuinely care about ensuring we had a good time, and there's a local housekeeper who speaks perfect English and is on hand for any emergencies. We've already recommended it to friends and are planning our return!

We absolutely love this place!

We have rented Villa Charlotte 3 times so far and we always enjoy it very much. The house itself is very spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Swimming directly from the huge terrace in front is always such a pleasure, in the daytime, or under the stars, and provides the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset and a glass of local wine. The location is perfect, there are a couple of very good restaurants nearby (Konoba Forte is wonderful), a grocery store within walking distance, and a small fruit and vegetable store right next door. Viganj itself is a quiet, historic little village, with lots of charm and authenticity. We have been to many other areas of Croatia and find Viganj to be more laid back and much less touristy. There are also some other wonderful towns to explore around the area, such as Trpanj, Orebic, Crkvice, Loviste, to name a few. We very much look forward to our next visit to Villa Charlotte!

Perfect!

Viganj is an idyllic holiday location and this villa was fantastic. The house itself is big and comfortable, with a proper air-conditioning system that actually works (big bonus). The living area is a bit basic, but has everything you need, including an excellent telescope for snooping on the luxury yachts that pass by! The terrace opens directly onto the sea and the view is stunning. The water is crystal clear and great for swimming, as well as every other water sport imaginable. The house is right in the heart of Viganj and so within walking distance of shops and restaurants, with a fruit and veg shop right next door. We had a brilliant holiday here and I would happily recommend it.
