Greta, thank you so much for this wonderful review! “Our stay was like a dream” may be one of the loveliest things anyone could say about Chalet Lilia — and it truly made our day. We’re so happy that you had such a special time there. The house and Brienno are very dear to us, and there is something magical about knowing that our guests get to experience the same beauty, peace, and slightly unreal feeling that made us fall in love with the place in the first place. It was an absolute pleasure hosting you, and we really appreciated how lovely and communicative you were throughout your stay. Thank you for choosing our little corner of Lake Como and for taking the time to leave such a beautiful review. We hope this won’t be your last dream at Chalet Lilia — you would be very welcome back anytime! ❤️

Mark, thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re delighted that you enjoyed the spectacular views and, especially, the peace and quiet of Brienno. That’s exactly what we love about this little corner of Lake Como: you can enjoy all the beauty of the lake while coming home to a tiny, authentic village away from the crowds and bustle of the busier towns. It was a pleasure having you at Chalet Lilia, and we hope you’ll come back for another peaceful stay — and another dose of that view! 😊 Lilia

This is a beautiful home with everything you need and more along with the most incredible views. Brienno is such a welcoming place and we will definitely be returning. The hosts were the best we've ever had for communicating information before and during our stay. Would recommend 100% There is nothing to fault with this property as even the steep stairs help you to work off the gelato and vino!!

I'm not sure what I can say about this property other than don't think about it, BOOK IT! Dont let the stairs scare you as the charming cottage at the top will make you forget all about them. Once you reach the top you won't want to leave. The kitchen has everything you need to make the special meal or just enjoy the views. The bedroom amd bathroom are upstairs where you are able to get lost in your thouhhts with the spectacular views of the lake, the chatter on the street below or ringing of the church bells right across the street. Next time we're in the area, we'd very much enjoy staying at Chalet Lilia and thank you again to our wonderful hosts who shared their space with us for our short stay.

Becky, what an absolutely wonderful review. Thank you! We especially loved the way you described the experience of being at Chalet Lilia: the lake, the sounds of the village below, the church bells, and simply sitting there and getting lost in your thoughts. That is exactly the magic of the house for us, and it makes us so happy when our guests feel it too. And thank you for your words about the stairs! They are part of life in our little centuries-old village, but we agree that once you reach the house, settle in and look out over the lake, they suddenly seem very much worth the climb. It was a genuine pleasure sharing Chalet Lilia with you, and we would absolutely love to welcome you back next time your travels bring you to Lake Como. Perhaps for a slightly longer stay next time, so you have more time to sit, listen to those bells and enjoy that view! Thank you again for being such wonderful guests. ❤️

Our third time to visit Italy and Lilia’s villa was the highlight of our two week vacation to Europe. Seven countries in all. We knew the villa was going to be nice, but seeing it in person exceeding all our expectations. The view! The view! Unbelievable, right from the balcony off the bedroom. If you leave the shutters open you wake up to that view and in the evening, the town across the lake glitters like Christmas. A small ride takes you to the ferry dock and off you go to more absolutely stunning views and towns. Small drive to lovely restaurants right next to the lake. We watched small fish and ducks. The villa itself was so lovely and quaint. Perfect for two. I would be perfectly happy on that balcony for hours with wine, cheese, bread reading. So clean, perfect! Highly recommend!

This was the BEST experience at a rental I have ever had! The views are absolutely stunning and the cottage itself is so clean, a perfect size, and has all the amenities you will need. I proposed to my girlfriend here and it was absolutely magical. Lilia even helped me to find a photographer in the area and was so kind and helpful throughout our stay. We only stayed for a few days, but we WILL be back!!! This was amazing, I cannot rate this place highly enough!

What an incredibly special review. Thank you so much! Carmen and I were absolutely thrilled to know that Chalet Lilia became part of such an important moment in your lives. It was such a pleasure helping you plan the proposal and find a photographer, and knowing that everything came together and felt as magical as you had hoped makes us so happy. We will always remember that there was a proposal at our little house in Brienno! ❤️ June is such a beautiful time on Lake Como, with the long days, the gardens in full bloom and the lake sparkling below, and we can only imagine how special that view must have felt at that particular moment. Thank you also for your wonderful words about the cottage itself. We put so much love and care into the house, so hearing that this was the best rental experience you have ever had means more to us than you can imagine. Most of all, congratulations to you both! We wish you a lifetime of happiness together. And since you said you WILL be back, we very much hope that someday Chalet Lilia can be part of another chapter of your story, perhaps an anniversary trip to Lake Como! We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you both back. ❤️

Mirella, thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re very happy that you enjoyed the cottage and, of course, that beautiful Lake Como view. And thank you for mentioning the steps. Brienno is a tiny historic village built into the mountainside, so there is definitely some climbing involved, and we always want guests to know that before they arrive. The village itself is indeed very small, which is a big part of its charm and tranquility. For guests who want to explore the lake extensively, a car can certainly be convenient, although it isn’t essential, as Brienno is also connected by bus and ferry to many of the larger towns around the lake. Dining options in the village are limited, so exploring neighboring towns for meals can also be part of the fun! Thank you again for choosing Chalet Lilia for your Lake Como stay. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to welcome you back someday! Lilia

We really enjoyed our stay at Lilia’s villa in Brienno. It was very clean, comfortable, and the perfect size for my husband and me. The best part was definitely the balcony and the breathtaking view of Lake Como. We loved sitting out there in the morning with our coffee and in the evening with a glass of wine.Lilia was wonderful to communicate with and very helpful. We also had fun learning to make coffee the Italian way with the moka pots she provided, along with coffee and sugar. One thing to know is that parking can be a little challenging. Both days we had to park about half a mile away and then climb the 88 steps up to the villa, so you do need to be in fairly good shape. But honestly, the peaceful little town of Brienno and the incredible views from the villa made the parking inconvenience well worth it.We loved our time here and would definitely recommend it for a couple wanting a quiet and beautiful place to stay on Lake Como.

Lisa, thank you so much for such a thoughtful and detailed review! I’m delighted that you and your husband enjoyed your stay at Chalet Lilia, and especially those quiet mornings with coffee and evenings with a glass of wine on the balcony — that view is exactly what made us fall in love with the house ourselves. I also loved hearing that you embraced the moka pot and learned to make coffee the Italian way! It’s one of those little rituals that somehow tastes even better when you’re looking out over Lake Como. Thank you as well for mentioning the parking and the steps. Brienno is a tiny, centuries-old village built into the mountainside, so access can require a bit more effort than in some of the larger towns on the lake. We try to be very clear about that before guests book, and I’m so glad that, for you, the peace, authenticity and spectacular setting made the extra walk worthwhile. It was truly a pleasure communicating with you and hosting you both. Thank you for taking such good care of the house and for recommending Chalet Lilia to other travelers looking for a quiet and beautiful corner of Lake Como. I hope we’ll have the pleasure of welcoming you back someday — the balcony, the moka pot and the view will all be waiting for you! ❤️ Lilia

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re so happy that you loved the cottage and had such a relaxing stay. It was especially lovely to have you in February, in the very heart of winter. Lake Como is so different at that time of year — quiet, peaceful and almost entirely free of crowds — and we think it has a very special beauty of its own. We’re delighted that you embraced that side of the lake and still found so much to explore, from restaurants and bars to walks and hikes. And of course, that view is magical in every season! We never tire of it ourselves, so it always makes us happy when our guests fall in love with it too. Best of all, you say you’ll be back — we would absolutely love to welcome you again, perhaps in a different season next time so you can experience another side of Brienno and Lake Como. Thank you again for being such wonderful guests. Arrivederci, we hope until very soon! ❤️

Sitting in the garden with a book and listening to the church bells sounds just about perfect to us. October is such a beautiful time to be on Lake Como. The villages are peaceful, the summer crowds have disappeared, and the fall colors around the lake make everything feel even more magical. We’re also very glad that our restaurant suggestions were helpful. And thank you for mentioning those 88 steps with such a wonderful attitude. Thank you so much Stephen! Yes, our cottage's view is what makes it stand out. It is hard to find anything like it, where you can truly feel so afraid away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, on a different dimension. You are welcome back any time!

Absolutely blown away by the view- such an incredible villa. The hosts are wonderful- excellent communication, perfect instructions and an easy process from start to finish. Would go back in a heartbeat- highly recommend! As mentioned in the listing, there are significant stairs up to the villa- worth it, but be mindful if that will be an issue for you.

Thank you so much for this beautiful review! We’re thrilled that you loved the villa and that incredible view, and we really appreciate your kind words about our communication and instructions. We try very hard to make everything as easy and seamless as possible for our guests, so that means a lot to us. We’re also so glad you discovered Lake Como in October. It’s one of our favorite times of year, when the summer crowds have gone, the villages are quieter, and the autumn colors around the lake are absolutely beautiful. There is something very peaceful and special about Brienno in the fall. And thank you for mentioning the stairs; they are certainly part of the experience of staying in an old hillside village like Brienno, and we agree that the view waiting at the top makes the climb worthwhile. Most of all, we loved reading that you would come back in a heartbeat. We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back! ❤️

Hi, welcome to our beloved Chalet Lilia!
I am Lilia, the owner. I now live in Manhattan, but I was born and raised in beautiful , romantic Como.
I want you to know that cottage was a labor of love.
My Mom found the property while hiking on the Lake, and it was just a ruin, with the single most magnificent view she had ever seen.
My Dad and I, an couple of years later, designed every inch of a dream cottage we had in mind. Within a year, it was built. We followed the process day and night throughout. For several years we spent week-ends and holidays there. I actually lived there full time for one full year in 2003. Then I married a handsome Canadian man, and I moved to America; my beloved Dad passed away, and my Mom continues to keep the cottage alive by sharing it with visitors from all over the world.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

You will love every minute of your vacation here. Very few other places offer you a stand-alone mini-villa, perfect for a couple, not within a larger complex or apartment building. It was conceived to be used as our own holiday home, not a rental property - we put love and care into every little detail.
The spectacular views speak for themselves - you will never want to leave.
It is a perfect starting point or base for hikes, shopping trips, and many many unforgettable adventures on the lake

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

The views are by far the best asset of this little gem.

If you are into cooking, you have a full kitchen at your disposal.
