La maison principale, Dar ta L-Argentier, a été construite il y a plus de 100 ans lorsqu'elle était probablement utilisée comme pavillon de tir. Dans le domaine de cette belle maison où vivent les propriétaires se trouve «Le Cottage» qui est disponible pour des vacances indépendantes. Dans le cadre paisible de cette zone rurale, cet hébergement dispose de toutes les commodités de la maison et est adjacent à une grande piscine, une piscine d'eau douce et un solarium. La piscine est également utilisée par les propriétaires qui vivent dans la maison principale. Toutes les installations sont uniquement disponibles pour les clients nommés réservés via Home Away.
St Paul's Bay est à 5 km et les plages de Golden Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha et Gnejna sont à seulement 10 minutes en voiture. Une voiture est indispensable car le service de bus a été interrompu. Un bon supermarché et un service de bus régulier sont situés au bas de la colline Wardija à environ 4 km.

Lovely cottage in great location

The cottage was just right for the two of us, in peaceful surroundings and with the excellent pool right outside. Much better than being in the built up areas. Jennifer and Joe were helpful and generous hosts - very nice people.

Our stay in Malta

The hosts were very welcoming in every respect, helping wherever they could, often beyond what could be expected. All that one would need on a vacation were in the apartment. We also enjoyed the quiet and the talks at the pool and we hope to return again. Fred and Elfie.

Very pleasant stay in Wardija

We had a lovely stay at Jennifer’s place. The house is located in a rural area away from the beach front area of St Paul’s which was perfect for us. The real plus points of this accommodation are the lovely pool area which we had to ourselves most of the time with our own sunbeds. The bed in the property was extremely comfortable with effective air con in the bedroom. The bathroom is spacious as is the rest of the property. There is a lovely seating area outside where we made use of the BBQ. The location means it’s easily accessible to the whole island though you will need a car. Gorgeous local towns such as Mdina and Rabat and good beaches less than 10 mins away. I would happily stay here again.

A calm oasis on a busy island

Jenifer and Joe have provided a lovely oasis of calm on what can be a busy island. This is a great place to get away from it all, with a lovely pool. Yes, it is shared with the owners, but we didn't find this an issue as there are plenty of hours in the day for using it. The house is in the garden of the owners, with more greenery than most other places on the island, so you will come across Joe taking care of it, and we enjoyed some nice evenings with both of them sharing a glass of wine on the terrace outside the apartment. You will need a car for staying at this place, but we found hire prices very reasonable, booked in advance and picked up at the airport. The roads in Malta can be busy, so allow more time for reaching places, but it is rewarding. The house is well located for travel to Mdina, a lovely walled city, and Gozo can be reached easily. You will experience some aircraft noise, as flights out tend to pass near to the property, although nothing like the non-stop activity at a London airport - we could spot the house from the cabin window on our flight out out! In sum, if we were to return to Malta, we would choose this property - but if you want the busyness of urban life or immediate access to a sandy beach, probably not for you (beaches are within a few minutes drive but we preferred the rocky coves for snorkelling)

Charming place

Our stay was lovely, the surroundings, the gardens, the birds song were beautiful and did what we wanted it to do, make us feel relaxed. Unfortunately there were a few issues we felt were important. The first being, the website said we would have to share the pool with the owners, which we had no problem with, but in reality, we had to share with owners’ friends and family a number of times. This had a negative effect on me and my wife, as we felt we didn’t want to intrude, so we were forced to not go outside . We paid a lot of money to have the freedom to have the space. The second problem was that most of the electrical equipment inside the Villa is all dated and needs to be upgraded. Regards Paul and Kath

I am very surprised with your review regarding your stay in our Cottage. I am responding accordingly: 1. You mention that you had a ‘few’ issues, however you only mentioned 2. a) Re pool – you never had to share the pool with either the owners (myself or my husband) or our family. When I used the pool in the early morning, the Cottage door was always closed. b) Regarding friends, we had one evening with 3 overseas family friends, our daughter & 2 grandchildren. None of us made use of the swimming pool that evening as we were in the pool room having dinner. (as you were aware the pool room is private). In any case the Pool Room is about 17 meters from the Cottage entrance. So, I don’t see why you ‘were forced not to go outside’ Had you and your wife come out we would certainly have asked you to join us for a drink. You are correct, our daughter did have 3 friends on Sunday, however, when they arrived at about 11am you were out, and did not return until late afternoon. When you returned nobody was swimming they were sitting outside the pool room area. . Therefore, again there was no reason whatsoever for you to remain inside. The area is very spacious and you could have ‘enjoyed the pool area’ at any time you wanted, particularly in the lovely evenings when you chose to remain inside. Regarding appliances in the Cottage. As we have never had any complaints regarding the equipment/appliances in the Cottage. Can you please be more specific about what you think is outdated? The Air Conditioner & ceiling fan in Bedroom - Living area – ceiling fan & European IPTV System -Siemens Dishwasher - Whirlpool Refrigerator/freezer - Electric kettle - Gas cooker with 4 cook-rings - Nespresso Coffee Machine. European IPTV etc...

Vacances de rêve !!!

Je recommande +++++++ Le séjour chez Jennifer et Joe a été un succès de A à Z! Tout a été excellent au delà même de la description. L accueil reçu , l emplacement central ,les conseils malgré notre anglais plus que médiocre nous avons réussi a nous comprendre.La propreté du cottage est remarquable nous sommes restés 18 jours et le ménage a été effectué 2 fois a notre grande surprise (d ailleurs la dame de ménage est a féliciter également !!) le gros plus c est la piscine qui a fait le bonheur de notre fils de huit ans et nous également a 3 mètres du cottage en résumé le paradis!!! N hésitez pas foncez je recommande a 100%

Accueil et prestations au TOP!

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chez Jennifer et Joe. Leur propriété est un véritable oasis de calme et de bien être que nous avions plaisir à retrouver après nos journées de visites ou tout simplement à profiter car la piscine est magnifique avec une température de l'eau idéale et la terrasse fleurie est un régal pour les yeux. Le cottage en lui même est spacieux ,très propre ,très bien équipé avec tout ce qu'il faut pour ajuster la température souhaitée car en été il fait très chaud à Malte. Jennifer et Joe sont très attentifs à notre bien être tout en étant discrets.Quelle belle surprise de trouver à notre arrivée: pain,beurre,jambon,oeufs,tomates ,fruits,café ,lait.Tout ce qu'il faut pour ne pas se précipiter à l'épicerie au plus vite,c'est très agréable. Nous recommandons cette propriété sans hésiter.Comme indiqué dans la présentation,la voiture est indispensable car nous sommes sur les hauteurs de Wardija.

Un oasis maltais.

L’accès se mérite, routes étroites et chaotiques, mais une fois le portail passé...nous découvrons la propriété, bâtisse en pierres entourée de conifères, palmiers, oliviers. Nous passons un petit portillon et entrons dans une cour intérieur et la, enchantement la superbe piscine et le cottage. Au fil des jours nous avons pu nous rendre compte qu'il ne manque rien à notre confort que se soit à l'intérieur du cottage qu'à l'extérieur. Au retour des différentes visites faites sur l’île, quel plaisir de se retrouver au calme et seul dans la piscine! Nos hôtes, Jennifer et Joe sont vraiment charmants et ce qui compte pour eux c'est que l'on passe un agréable séjour et ça été le cas. Nous recommandons cette location (avec véhicule).

Peaceful and beautiful

The property is in a lovely, peaceful location, though initially a little difficult to find. It is within easy reach of shops and all that Malta has to offer. It is attractive, well-appointed and clean and set within beautiful gardens. The owners, Jenny and Joe, were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, offering superb hospitality. We would definitely recommend it.

Perfect paradise

We were looking for a a piece of paradise for my wife’s 50th birthday and this exceeded our expectations. It is away from the daily hustle and bustle in an idyllic location but it is close enough to everything you could want to do. A 5 minute drive into Bugibba or Salina if you want some lovely restaurants, 10 minutes to golden bay for a beach day or 25-30 mins into Valletta to explore a world heritage site. The cottage has everything you could need and the pool is fantastic. Jenny and Joe were the perfect hosts and couldn’t do enough for us and we enjoyed our conversations about some of the history of Malta, we will definitely be going back.

Een rustig paradijsje in een soms hectisch Malta

Het was er heerlijk rustig. De cottage was heel netjes en in alles voorzien. Het zwembad was zalig en er is een BBQ ter beschikking. De vriendelijke warme ontvangst door Jennifer en Joe maakte het 'thuisgevoel' compleet.

Es war für uns die perfekte Unterkunft für Malta. Ein wunderschönes gepflegtes Anwesen in herrlich ruhiger Lage, sehr hilfsbereite Hosts und ein Häuschen mit allem ausgestattet. Wir fühlten uns so wohl und werden wieder kommen!

Ein kleines Paradies

Diese kleine Oase ist einfach traumhaft schön. Die Fotos zeigen das Cottage und die Umgebung, wie alles tatsächlich ist. Man kommt also nicht mit einer Vorstellung an, die dann vor Ort - wie so oft - von der Realität enttäuscht wird. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit, wir haben bei Ankunft sogar schon die wichtigsten Lebensmittel im Kühlschrank vorgefunden. Nach einer Woche in der Inseslhauptstadt haben wir die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit sehr genossen. Jederzeit wieder!

Super!

We hadden een prachtige week op het domein bij Jennifer and Joe. Wee kwamen heel laat aan, maar er was een kleine versnapering in de frigo voor ons en ook voor de volgende morgen. Alles was piekfijn in orde: de keuken, zwembad, het reserveren van de scooters, de barbecue, de tips bij het plannen van onze uitstappen. Dank voor de mooie week, en wie weet, hopelijk nog eens tot ziens! :)

Cottage with pool. Great stay lovely accommodation with pool.

Plenty of room for couple but 3rd person would be on sofa in sitting room. Quiet and peaceful and very welcoming. Jennifer is very thoughtful host.

I am British and lived in this wonderful location for over 30 years. I love to travel but always look forward to returning to Wardija which is still an un-spoilt area in the north of Malta. My husband and I live in the main house. We have one dog - Luna a mixed breed /Spaniel.

Over the years we have transformed the 3 acres of land around the main house and the Cottage which are surrounded by lawns, numerous olive, palm trees and different shrubs and flowers. Immediately next to the Cottage is 3 meters deep kidney-shaped fresh water swimming pool with surrounding sun deck area. It is secluded as it is situated on a hill with unobstructed country views with St Paul's Bay and Island beyond.

Everything guests need are in the Cottage for an enjoyable holiday. Air-Con and overhead fans, TV. Large freshwater swimming pool (towels provided). Peace, quiet and wonderful walks in the countryside to overlook St Paul's Bay. Plenty of parking space in the grounds of the property.
