Weekend at Port A

The place was clean and perfect size for the family. What we loved the most, is having three bathrooms! Each couple having their own. Great access to the pool and parking. Thank you for the extra guest parking!

Beautiful home!

We had the best time in Port Aransas. The home was absolutely beautiful and accommodated everyone very nicely. The host was also very helpful with anything we needed and responded immediately. Definitely recommend!

It was nice but….

The listing said queen size beds in the two main rooms but they were only full size beds. We are all bigger people so that made for uncomfortable sleeping.

Couple little issues

The ceiling fans and lights seem to operate on their own, turning on all night in our bedroom while trying to sleep. Also, never did receive the pool access code. WiFi was an issue with the tv in the second bedroom, never got to use streaming services in that room. Overall a good experience with some slight hiccups.

We cooked several meals here and had adequate kitchen necessities. We did take a very large frying pan due to us wanting to make burgers one night. Pool was big enough and not over crowded and was just a few steps from our place. We also loved the private gated breezeway where we sat outside and stored our ice chests, pool toys, beach gear, etc. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Reviewer Comments: First night The smoke detectors went off every 30 min beginning at 2am until 8am. We did not get hardly any sleep. We reported the next day. We lost power for a bit and the house had limited furnishings for cooking utensils and pots pans etc. the water pressure felt like needles on your skin. did not feel safe having the kids lin on the young girls at the pool. He left abruptly when my husband confronted him without explanation. I would like to think the property would offer some sort of discount or something for our stay there.

Should have mentioned that golf carts not an option due to location. Also, water pressure was way too high. Shower was painful at times and sprayed everywhere. So was spray attachment in kitchen sink. Some thinking needs to go into the experience to make it better. Have the owners stayed in the unit?

Uncomfortable

Reviewer Comments: Pirate Bay’s unit 203: only has 3 total pillows for a unit that is supposed to sleep 10, plan to bring your own. All other pillows were only throw pillows or pillows with decorative shams (very strange and made for a very uncomfortable experience; why did both queen beds only come with one pillow?); living room furniture was very uncomfortable and only seats 4; the dining room table chairs and bar chairs are hard wooden chairs, not the ones pictured in the image with cushions; so if you and your 9 guests want to relax together, it’s not happening. The master tub’s drain was broken making it unusable. The master only has a queen bed, other units come with kings. The 3rd bedroom with the queen only has one night stand, so lots of things had to be placed on the floor next to the bed; no hooks to hang toiletry bags in the bathrooms; No hair dryers; very limited kitchen supplies - ex: not even any salt and pepper - ex: 6 forks for 10 guest unit - ex: no baking pans and minimal pots/pans; coffee cups are very small. I will say the unit was kept very clean, perhaps because it was recently renovated. Only have glassware items, so if you have little kiddos, you’ll need to bring some plastic cups/plates. The property owner should really provide a list of what is there in the unit and a suggested packing list. We’ve been to Pirates Bay many times, but unfortunately will never stay at this particular townhome unit again (PB 203).

Reviewer Comments: The rental was kind of pricey when the master did not have a King size bed, The coaches in the living room where not comfortable, not enough TP and towels in the bathrooms. The sink in the master bath was not usable. The cleaning fee was outrageous because we basically had to clean the house ourselves. The whole family was disappointed. We had stayed at another house in this location before and was very satisfied with our stay.

Furniture coverings in the living-room were stained & dirty. Kitchen has minimal utensils for cooking. Master shower was clogged & would puddle up while showering. Second shower needs a curtain; water sprayed all over floor. It would have been nice to have access to the broom to sweep the floor during our stay. The pool was filthy & the sewer smell was overwhelming. We enjoyed our stay inside once we made our way through the mesquito filled breezeway.

Not a pleasant stay

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Wi-Fi did not work, When I reported it the management company told me they knew that but the part has not come in. THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD US THAT. Walk-in showers did not drain well. stood in 2 inches of water while taking a shower. Water in Kitchen sink barely comes out of the faucet, No stocked with enough cooking utensils. Coffee pot too small cannot make a pot of coffee for three people at one time. Coffee cups are demi-tasse (riduculous), No broom to sweep the sand in house, Master bsth countertop was so high we couldn't brush our teeth without going to another bath to do so. Beds were so high need a stool to get in them (None provided) OVERALL NOT A PLEASANT STAY. Would not reccommend it to anyone. Also believe it is overpriced for the lack of ammenties it provides

Can't wait to go back!

We had two families stay - (4 adults, 1 child, and 1 baby) the set up was perfect! Each family has their own "wing" of the beautiful house. :) The kitchen is great and had everything that we needed. The townhome was clean, even according to my high standards. (I felt totally comfortable using the kitchen and letting my baby crawl on the floor.) Great location in the city and relative to the pool! Lisa is a wonderful concierge. She helped with everything from a bakery to a photographer. We can't wait to go back!
