Magnifique Cottage restauré à East Mayo avec 4 * Irish Tourist Authority Award

Construit par le Congested District Board en 1903, ce magnifique cottage vient d'être entièrement rénové et est classé 4 * par la Irish Tourist Authority. Situé dans le petit village de Bracklagh, il a été fini à un niveau très élevé avec une nouvelle salle de bains et une cuisine, une salle d'eau attenante, un poêle à bois / tourbe, sky + HD, une station d'accueil pour iPod, une radio numérique Roberts, du linge de maison The White Entreprise, peignoirs en éponge et chauffage par le sol via une pompe à chaleur souterraine. Une grange à foin rénovée est idéale pour le stationnement, tandis qu'une deuxième grange verrouillable est idéale pour stocker des vélos, des planches de surf, etc. Bracklagh est très calme et un havre pour la faune - en particulier les lièvres.

Great host who made us very welcome. Great location if you just need to get away from things and enjoy peace and quiet but easy access to local towns and roads. The property has two beautiful ponies who are very friendly and four cats who love sitting on your lap. The house has everything you need for a great holiday, the beds are very comfortable too.

Our family of 5 loved staying at Sean and Suzi's cottage! They were warm and welcoming hosts and their place had everything that we needed for a very enjoyable stay. The ponies and cats provided memorable moments for our kids especially. We appreciated the personal recommendations for things to do in the area and hope to come back to be able to enjoy the area more.

LOVED this place. If/when I return to Ireland, I will definitely look to stay over again! Sean was there upon arriving and gave a quick tour. It's a beautiful home surrounded by gorgeous countryside. The kitties were a lovely surprise and kept us good company. Two thumbs up and highly recommend!

Pros: Gracious and communicative host. Easy check in and out process. Lovely home on lovely property. convenient location to local town (10min) Cons, did not have residential sized fridge. Bedding lacked a top sheet for any of the beds.

Great to read that you found Tigh Mhic a handy and lovely base. 2 of the 3 bedrooms were fully made up including bottom sheets as we thought you just wanted the two rooms (we did email to ask how many bedrooms you needed) and we would have been very happy to come over and make up the third bedroom if asked. The fridge is the usual under counter model but definitely not a full size American style one.

Such a beautiful cosy home with heated floors and a fire! The surroundings were beautiful, not to mention the friendliest cats ever and two gorgeous ponies. Seán (the host) was so lovely and speaks beautiful Irish too. Would absolutely recommend to anyone from a few friends to a full family trip. Will be definitely be staying here again! What a fun place to stay. Sean and Suzi are wonderful Host. They have everything you will need. Plus 2 Shetland ponies and 4 cats! We bought a bag of carrots at aldis right down the road in Ballyhaunis to feed the ponies. We even got to watch the cows being herded from field to field right up the road. There were lots of games to entertain us on our evenings and lots of useful information as to what to do while in Ireland. I told Suzi when we booked the cottage that we were doing some family ancestry. She was so kind and had a print out on the kitchen table with a 1926 census. It turned out to be very useful and found a 3rd cousin with that into. The cottage was very clean and has ample parking and turnaround area. They have hot water for a good shower and even a deep bath tub for a nice soak. Plus they have heated floor which it’s absolutly the best! It is situated centrally for all the destinations we made. If we were to come back we will surely book with them again.

We moved back to Mayo in 2000 after 10 years of renovating Seán's family home - it took so long because of time and budget constraints. and we were joined in December by our daughter, Muirgheal. The family has now grown to include a donkey, 2 alpacas, 4 dogs, 2 miniature shetland ponies, 4 cats, 3 terrapins and 2 fish. The renovations bug took hold again in 2003 and we bought the dilapidated cottage which is now Tigh Mhic. We love the peace and quiet and empty spaces of Mayo and though others would too so planned the work with the idea of providing a home from home holiday cottage. What we didn't realise was how much we would enjoy sharing our love of east Mayo. Tigh Mhic is less than 3 miles from home which makes it easy to be on hand to help our visitors and maintain the cottage to the highest standards.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Mick's Place is a fully restored cottage. It is in such a peaceful setting we have taken ourselves off there for our own holidays! If you are out at the front and a vehicle goes past you look up and is not a common sight. You are definitely out in the country with the possibility of spotting hares, hawks, herons, foxes and swallows but only under 10 minutes from the small hub of Claremorris which offers shops, supermarkets, pubs, leisure facilities (including golf club and swimming pool), coffee shops and restaurants.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Our joys are gentle walks, occasional cycle rides, sitting with a good book and a glass of wine and spotting nature. These interests are definitely well served at Mick's Place. We also love the fact that Tig Mhic is well placed for day trips to Westport, Achill, Galway, Sligo, Carrick on Shannon and Roscommon..to name but a few of the beautiful places to visit in the west of Ireland
