Maison de caractère en pierre à distance de marche de la côte jurassique du patrimoine mondial

Le chalet situé au 5, rue North a été construit à l'origine au milieu du 19e siècle par des carrières des carrières locales utilisant de la pierre de Purbeck. Utilisé comme maison de vacances pendant plusieurs décennies par les propriétaires précédents, il a été modernisé et mis à jour par les propriétaires actuels tout en conservant bon nombre de ses caractéristiques d'origine. Il est disponible en location de vacances depuis 2003 et est très populaire auprès des clients, dont beaucoup reviennent sur une base annuelle. Les prix indiqués sont pour les locations à la semaine. Le chalet est également loué pour des périodes plus courtes d'octobre à avril - veuillez contacter le propriétaire directement pour les prix et la disponibilité. L'occupation maximale est de quatre adultes et deux enfants de moins de seize ans.

Le village de Langton Matravers se trouve dans une zone de conservation et une grande partie de la campagne environnante est classée comme zone de beauté naturelle exceptionnelle. Le village est à distance de marche de Dancing Ledge, l'une des caractéristiques de la côte du Dorset et de l'Est du Devon, le premier site naturel d'Angleterre à recevoir le statut de patrimoine mondial. Le chalet a été rénové à un niveau élevé et offre une maison de vacances confortable et relaxante. Un thermoplongeur électrique chauffe l'eau et le chauffage central est assuré par des chauffe-eau de nuit.

Le logement comprend:

Rez-de-chaussée: salon avec TV couleur, lecteur DVD et CD; salle à manger séparée; cuisine équipée avec cuisinière électrique, réfrigérateur / congélateur et four à micro-ondes; hall utilitaire avec machine à laver automatique à chargement par le haut; salle de bain et WC comprenant baignoire avec douche électrique, lavabo, WC et sèche-serviettes.

Premier étage: chambre principale avec lit double de 5 pieds de large / armoire penderie / commode (vue sur les collines de Purbeck et la baie de Swanage); chambre 2 avec lit double de 4 pieds 6 pouces de large; garde-robe; commode de chevet.

Deuxième étage: Chambre 3 avec lit double de 4 pieds 6 pouces de large; garde-robe; commode (vue sur les collines de Purbeck et la baie de Swanage).

Il y a aussi un jardin patio ensoleillé et clos à l'arrière du chalet avec table et chaises. À l'avant, il y a un parking privé hors rue pour une grande voiture familiale et un jardin. Il y a un parking illimité dans la High Street pour les voitures supplémentaires.

Lovely cottage stay

We had a very happy stay as a family. The cottage is lovely, and children and adults were very happy. Good bedrooms and living areas, and greats views and location, and easy parking.

Comfortable house

Beautifully clean house in an ideal location for the coastal path and good pubs! Beds were comfortable and shower worked well, on site parking and outside area really useful

Good Dorset Experience

The cottage was a very comfortable and exceptionally. We loved the location and the ability to do wonderful walks from the door or take the no 40 bus to get further afield.

Peaceful stay in quiet cottage close to Swanage, Jurassic coast

Lovely old cottage in the village of Langton Matravers, a couple of miles from Swanage, close to Dancing Ledge and coastal path. Lots to do nearby! Cottage was very clean and equipped with everything we needed for a week's peace hiking. Village is very quiet. There's a pub that serves food and more restaurants/ takeaways and shops down in Swanage.

Perfect ‘walk in, walk out’ location

Delightful cottage, full of character, beautifully decorated and furnished. An idyllic ‘walk in, walk out’ location for coastal walks and other walks in the Purbeck hills. Also ideally located for Swanage, the RSPB reserve at Arne, Studland, Wareham and Brownsea Island. I could go on....

Quiet location for exploring the Isle of Purbeck

The cottage is warm, comfortable. Good sized beds/rooms and has all the basics you need. We visited Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door, Tyneham, Kimmeridge, Kingston Lacy, Swyre Head, Swanage, Durlston etc .... You can walk to Dancing Ledge almost straight across the road from the house, through Tom's field. Kids loved it.

Lovely property and well located

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The property was a good size for us and located in a quiet cul de sac. We had use of the garden at the front and a small patio area at the back. The cottage was within easy reach of Swanage and other places to visit and also a good starting point for walks. Liaison with the owners was very straightforward and they were very helpful, taking into account all the issues concerning the virus. The property was spotless when we arrived and had all we needed. Well recommended.

Good cottage in excellent location

Overall very good, but kitchen missing a few things we expected (chopping boards & slotted spoon.) The kitchen is small, so sharing the cooking is tricky! Also stairs to bedrooms would be difficult for less able people, especially with bathroom/toilet downstairs. However, it suited us fine.

A lovely cottage in a very special region of the UK!

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful cottage in Langton Matravers. The little stone house is restaurated in a very nice way, everthing is clean and very neat. Ann and Garret are very friedly and helpful. Also in advance the preparation of the journey was excellent. They even sent us a printed map to find the house. We loved the position of the house. Langton Matravers is a small village, everything what is necessary is in walking distance: The big football field (very important for the boys), the small shop, the pub and several very nice walks. The surrounding is great! You find great walks, the lovely castle of Corfe, great pubs and tea-rooms! You see a lot of sheep, cows, some horses and everywhere you hear and then find pheasants.Thank you very much!

Family holiday, October half term.

Communication with owners was perfect - friendly, helpful & quick to reply. Cottage is in a quiet spot and a good base to explore from, whether that be a walk from the door, by car or using the excellent no.40 bus service linking Swanage to Poole, with a bus stop just a minute’s walk from the cottage.. The cottage was very clean, is full of character, very well equipped and everything worked well, including the WiFi. Thanks for helping make our holiday so enjoyable and we would recommend this cottage without hesitation.

Very cosy and well equipped. There were only 3 of us so plenty of room. Excellent bus service to Swanage, Wareham, Poole and Bournemouth. Did not need to use car at all.

Comfortable cottage in an enchanting location

A pretty character cottage with generous sized bedrooms. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. The patio is sheltered and private, the garden is shared. Located in beautiful rolling countryside a short scenic drive to several beautiful beaches. Ian and Ann were superb hosts and we hope to return.

Dorset Delight

It was a pleasure to stay in this delightful little cottage in a peaceful setting, yet with easy access to Swanage and many other places of interest. There are good views of the lovely surrounding countryside which afford great opportunities for exploration , either on foot or by car, A relaxing place to stay.

We bought 5 North Street in 1995 after several enjoyable holidays in a friend's adjacent cottage. We renovated and furnished the cottage solely for our own use and only started letting it out in 2003 having been fortunate enough to purchase number six! We love the Isle of Purbeck - it's a unique unspoilt corner of England. In addition to the beaches, scenery and walks, the Isle of Purbeck has a lovely golf course with views over Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island. It's difficult to imagine a more perfect location for a holiday home in the UK, yet only a relatively short drive from London.
