Hébergement de vacances paisible, pittoresque et élégant gßte dans une ancienne grange traditionnelle. Situé à la périphérie du joli village de Benenden, célÚbre pour son école de filles historique et des connexions avec le Domesday Book et d'excellents pubs de campagne. Idéalement situé à proximité des villes Wealden de Cranbrook, Tenterten et Tunbridge Wells. Avec interminables promenades, jardins, national fiducie et les biens du patrimoine anglais, Sissinghurst, Scotney, Bodiam et Great Dixter idéalement situé sur votre porte. Alternativement Londres est 55mins par le train ou de la pop sur la Manche vers la France pour la journée. La grange a été récemment modernisé et a une cuisine entiÚrement équipée afin que vous puissiez préparer des produits cultivés localement à partir du nombre primé magasins à la ferme et des caves dans le Weald de Kent.

Lovely cottage in the garden of the owners. Nice place to stay and a good point to make interesting trips in the neigbourhoud.

Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour sur tous les points ! Le logement est trÚs propre, au calme et dans un jardin splendide. La maison est trÚs bien équipée et agencée. L'accueil était agréable et toutes nos questions ont trouvé rapidement une réponse. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Lovely property in a beautiful, peaceful spot in the heart of the Kent countryside

This property was really lovely
 beautifully converted. Set in the owners large and very lovely garden. High quality throughout.. the bed and bedding was especially good (very important for me). Sophie was a great host - thank you Sophie đŸ™đŸ»

great property in the Weald of Kent, kept in excellent order, and perfectly set in peaceful Benenden. Sophie I’d a great host who had thought of everything, and really takes care to ensure a great stay. We’d visit again and recommend.

Great cottage in a great location

My husband and I spent a weekend at this property with our puppy. We had a great stay! Sophie was very responsive with messages and had a cake waiting on check-in. The hosts were also helpful with tips on what to do, where to eat - which we very much appreciated. The cottage is in great condition and has all the necessary amenities. It’s a great location to explore the national trust properties close by and close to the beautiful Bedgebury forests. Highly recommended! One thing to mention is that, it isn’t obvious from the listing that the cottage is just off the main house where the hosts live. The cottage has a separate entrance, but the garden is part of the main garden without a fence which is not ideal if you want to let your dog out without a lead as there are hens / chickens free in the garden. It didn’t make much of a difference to us.

Beautiful short break in East Sussex

We had a lovely break for a couple of days staying at the property. The host, Sophie, and her family made us very welcome and baked us a cake on arrival (which was delicious). The barn was very comfortable with everything we needed, and the gardens very beautiful. The location is great - we visited Rye, Camber and Bodiam Castle, and the local village pub does great food. All and all a memorable stay.

Lovely relaxing stay

Property was exactly as described. Extremely clean and inviting. Lovely patio area outside to use, which we did, as the weather so hot. Owners very nice and helpful. Couldn’t fault anything and would certainly return.

A cosy retreat tucked away in the Kent countryside

Freshwater Barn is a delightful cottage hidden away in a large garden. Our hostess Sophie and her menagerie welcomed us into their home with a delicious home made cake! The cottage was well appointed, clean, tidy, and very well equipped with everything we needed and more. Our children especially enjoyed playing with the numerous pets - especially Toffee the dog and Minou the laid back cat! It was our great escape to the country for the bank holiday weekend.

Wundervolles mit Liebe gefĂŒhrtes Cottage.

Ein sehr schönes gemĂŒtliches Cottage, mit Liebe zum Detail. Die Vermieterin hat, trotz das wir verspĂ€tet waren, auf uns gewartet und mit einem selbstgebackenen Kuchen begrĂŒĂŸt. FĂŒr den ersten Morgen waren Kaffeepads und zwei Flaschen Mineralwasser bereit. Alles war top und sehr gepflegt. Und somit sehr empfehlenswert.

Beautiful and well equipped. Sophie, it was such a relaxing week we spent at Freshwater Barn, thanks for everything. What a lovely cake we were expected by, when arriving at your house. Perfect stay not far away from everything. Only the mattress of the sofabed is not really comfortable. We recommend this place for everyone, who wants to explore Kent.

Perfect!! Couldn't be better!

We had a lovely holiday in Benenden. The cottage was clean and cosy. Everything was available: washing machine, good shower, towels, bed linen, TV, DVD etc.etc. The welcome by the owners was very friendly and the cottage has a lot of privacy. Summarizing : Couldn't be better !! Thanks.

A lovely stay in a lovely cottage!

A great cottage for couples, with a beautiful bedroom and ensuite facilities and a spacious lounge/dining area. Lovely to be welcomed with a home-baked cake, thank you! The internet and parking facilities were a little basic but we were always warm and comfortable, and the cottage and garden were in a quiet location, perfect for visiting the many NT and EH attractions nearby.

wunderschönes Cottage mit hervorragender Ausstattung

Wir haben im September 2018 eine tolle Woche in Sophies Cottage verbracht. Man fĂŒhlt sich sofort wie zu Hause und kann den wunderschönen Garten der Familie Verschuur bewundern. Benenden ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt fĂŒr Erkundungen in Kent und den umliegenden Grafschaften. In nur wenigen km Entfernung liegen einige der schönsten GĂ€rten und Castles SĂŒdenglands (z. B. Sissinghurts und Hever Castle). Die Famile Verschuur ist ausgesprochen nett und zur BegrĂŒĂŸung gab es bei der Anreise einen leckeren, selbst gebackenen Kuchen. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen! We moved from London 15 years ago to this beautiful and well placed area in Kent. We now only have Toffee the terrier, Tiggy the tiger and an array of chickens who can regularly be seen roaming the garden. We are relaxed and easy going and are always happy to help our guests in anyway whether it is information or recommendations. We run our holiday let for pleasure and so far everyone has been fantastic.

It is excellently placed for everything you could wish for: walks on your doorstep with beautiful countryside, small villages, large towns, local pubs, wineries and restaurants. Trains are good and commutable to London and Europe.
