Récemment rénové, un hébergement de luxe cinq étoiles dans une maison classée Grade II dans le centre du village historique de Cartmel dans le South Lake District. Cinq chambres confortables trois salles de bain; caractéristiques de la période; jardin. La maison est à distance de marche du restaurant L'enclume de Simon Rogan avec ses deux étoiles Michelin.

Rooms good size. Having three bathrooms was excellent having ten people staying .would definitely recommend ford house .

What a fantastic house, really well equipped, comfortable beds and crisp cotton linen. Lovely area to sit out in. Perfect location. I would highly recommend this beautiful house for a stay in Cartmel.

Family gathering 2019

The property was impressive and ideal for us. Each couple and Dad had a bedroom and having a family bathroom on each floor also meant no queues and privacy. The water pressure was excellent as so often happens with large groups the showers become a dribble, not in this case. The garden was a little hotspot and was used a lot during our time. I believe between us all every pub and restauraunt got used. No disappointment with the food and enjoyed by all. When we catered in the house the cooker was up to the job. I was also able to walk the dogs with a variety of places and met lots of people who were welcoming. Overall a successful family week away.

Amazing weekend

A group of 8 of us came to stay for my husbands 40th weekend as we were off to L'enclume... we couldn't have asked for a better house. Right in the middle of beautiful Cartmel (like a village out of a Richard Curtis film) stands the house - situated between 2 old country pubs (both with log fires) and almost opposite the Cartmel Village Shop (home to the sticky toffee pudding no less). Organising the rental with Judy was super easy and she sent us everything we needed to know well in advance. Directions to the cottage were great - parking a slight issue right in the center but again (as Judy's notes say) we found spots just outside - plus a lovely walk to and from. The house had everything we could need - it was super cosy, especially when we had the log fire on in the evening sat round with a glass of wine & eating cheese (excellent cheese shop just round the corner). All bedrooms as advertised - VERY comfy beds and good quality white linen. The whole house was very clean. Kitchen was fantastic with very nice appliances. Would very much recommend L'enclume (just round the corner) for a real TREAT of a meal / experience - but also Rogan & Co - was fantastic too! Buy your provisions from the spar shop on the outskirts of the village (inc stocking up on plenty of fire wood) - then for more yummy bits - the Cartmel Village Shop in the square (I bought 5 different puddings as presents too). All in all - perfect weekend. Really hope we manage to get up to Cartmel again. Thank you!

We booked Ford House for a friend's 50th birthday. Judy was excellent to deal with, responding extremely quickly to our queries. Ford House is the most beautiful place to stay and the location was perfect, think I can safely say everyone loved their time there!

Fabulous House for special birthday celebration

Beautiful house in Central location, ideal for me and my friends to celebrate my 60th. Very clean accommodation, all rooms lovely. Communication with owner was fast for any query before and during stay. Small issue with hot water, which was then sorted out very quickly and did not spoil the weekend. Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future

We bought Ford House in 2014 after it came back unexpectedly on the market. It was already perfectly set up as a luxury holiday home catering for large groups with unique charm and features.
As a family we often visit the Lake District and both my husband and I were brought up holidaying here as children.I particularly spent a lot of time in Grange over Sands with a day trip to Cartmel as an annual treat. The Lakes have a magical quality for me and I always feel I've escaped when there.
Cartmel has so much more to offer these days and is a stepping stone to the many lakes and fells.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Ford House is right in the heart of the village, in The Square. We have immediate access to many eateries or a variety of artisan shops for a meal at home. To be so close to the racecourse is exciting on those meet days and you can take picturesque walks without getting in the car. All the bedrooms are attractive and spacious and no one feels they have second best. The garden is a lovely sun trap and the sitting room a cosy haven.
