Cottage simple et confortable dans la belle campagne du Suffolk, près de Washbrook

Ceci est une belle maison jumelée, entourée de champs, qui fait partie de ma famille depuis plus de 50 ans. C'est simple (pas de télévision, haut débit, micro-ondes) mais il a tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour une escapade tranquille ou des vacances en pleine nature. La voie est incroyablement calme avec très peu de circulation, mais elle est à environ 10 minutes en voiture d'Ipswich et les zones côtières du Suffolk sont à proximité (Felixtowe 20 minutes, Orford, Walberswick, Thorpeness, Southwold, Aldeburgh sont à environ 40 minutes). C'est un endroit parfait pour emmener de jeunes enfants. Le jardin est grand et presque entièrement gazonné. Un chemin devant le chalet mène à une église qui date de l'époque normande (aujourd'hui fermée). Un ruisseau sur la voie est parfait pour une partie de bâtons Pooh, des buses au dessus.

Les sites d'intérêt à proximité incluent Hadleigh (charmant village de marché avec les forgerons de Perdrix de renommée mondiale), Lavenham (village médiéval), Dedham (cœur du pays Constable) et Ipswich si vous recherchez une thérapie de détail, cinéma, théâtre, piscine intérieure, etc. sur. Il y a de nombreux villages incroyablement pittoresques à proximité. Il y a une écurie d'équitation avec des chevaux et des poneys pour tous les âges et capacités à 10 minutes à pied. Il y a un pub local dans le village avec un restaurant spécialisé dans les repas sans gluten.

Il y a une cuisine avec cellier à côté, un salon avec table à manger et radio / lecteur CD, une chambre principale avec lit king-size et une salle de bains et une chambre lits jumeaux. Il est parfait pour quatre personnes mais il y a aussi un canapé-lit dans le salon pour un visiteur occasionnel. Il a été récemment rénové.

Il y a énormément de choses à faire dans la région, que vous soyez dans la nature, la voile, les maisons historiques, les vignobles, la plage ou simplement la paix et la tranquillité.

Perfect!

Church Cottage is a timeless, beautiful treasure - untouched by progress. With endless views. You must explore the Church - long, uncut grass and the difficult-to-open door - but do persevere because it's well worth it. The house has everything, and we ate most meals outside on the lovely big table. We didn't even think of TV, and no WiFi did not deter our visit one bit. 4 days were not enough - even with Katy letting us stay the whole last day, which was such a bonus! We rode our bikes everywhere and also walked everywhere, including the Brook Inn. The OS maps were a delight to discover. One day that hit 32.5C we drove 45 minutes to the beautiful, untouched Naze which was a great place to be on a really hot day! We will be back.

A solid 8 out of 10

First the pros. Reasonably priced cottage. The biggest selling points for me was the absence of TV and internet, absolute bliss. Excellent location. Cottage was very clean and the beds comfortable. Although we didn't use them a washing machine and tumble drier were available. The cons. Water is sourced from a well through a pump and filtration system. I think this should have been mentioned in the listing. I may be a bit paranoid but I didn't trust drinking the water without boiling it first. The kettle was in desperate need of de-scaling. The electric shower was an experience. The on/off button on the shower unit itself was faulty and the shower had to be operated with the isolator switch outside the bathroom. To be fair this was explained in the information pack. Parking is a bit of an issue, the only space being a verge by the side of a narrow lane. The only other thing worth mentioning is not about the property but about the directions to the local pub. There is a route via footpaths. However the route goes through a field populated by bullocks. These animals can be quite temperamental so take care. All things considered, I would recommend this property.

The neighboor has big loud dogs who wake you up

The house was not clean,it was very cold on arrival and the heating starts working after 24 hours. Very cold first night. Neighboor likes his music till late and has big dogs who wake you up with barking.

Quiet hide away

A quiet relaxing rural cottage with all the basics you need for a relaxing holiday. Friendly family owner. Lovely country walking paths accessible directly from the cottage. Local church a treasure.

A wonderful staycation...

The property was ideal. Clean, comfortable, and with everything you need - including no WiFi or TV - and the kids survived. Located in a lovely quiet area, yet with easy access to several attractions. Thank you also to Katy, who was particularly good with keeping us informed and answering our questions. Would we want to return for another staycation at this lovely cottage? The answer is Yes.

Lovely country cottage

Was a lovely cottage to stay in and was very relaxing. Location is beautiful and peaceful. Would recommend Wifi to save on phone data. Also, the grass was very long and felt we couldn’t make much use of the garden because of it. The hedge was very over grown and couldn’t use much of the path. Would love to stay again and would highly recommend, especially for couples! Thank you for a lovely stay ☺️

Peaceful location

This is a peaceful retreat, thoughtfully equipped with necessities and comfortable beds. The garden is lovely and very relaxing, and it was good to be without wifi and leave the modern world behind for a little while (mobile connection is good if you actually need it).

Feels a million miles from anywhere but actually only a short drive from everything you need. Good base for exploring, loads to do...or sit in the garden and snuggle up in front of the woodburner for the evening.

Delightful cottage in peaceful green setting.

Carefully renovated cottage with classily stylish interior, bursting with character, cosy wood-burner, serene bedrooms and sun-filled garden. A cosy launch pad for walking, cycling and day trips to nearby charming villages. Good pubs nearby. It'll be hard to leave.

A very relaxing stay at Washbrook

We very much enjoyed our week at Washbrook. The house is well located on a quiet lane and the garden is perfect for eating outside or a game of badminton over the washing line! We visited Sutton Hoo, the sandy beach at Southwold, the beautiful Christchurch Mansion in Ipswich and many other local attractions. We did not miss the telly or wifi for one minute. Suffolk has a lot to offer and people were all very welcoming. Mrs Byrne the owner was extremely helpful and communication was excellent. We recommend this property to families who want to spend quality time away from the the big city.

Wonderful countryside get away

An amazingly quiet cottage, close enough to towns not to feel isolated, yet in a location that makes you feel like nobody else is around. Took two young children and was great to play games at the table and run around in the garden without them worrying about whats on the tv. Loads of footpaths next to the cottage and a wonderful church also. A really great stay at a great price.

Very cosy and quiet cottage

We had a great weekend at Katy s cottage. It was as described very clean and cosy. It is quite small but very pleasant and was perfect for the 4 of us. The kitchen contains everything we needed. The wood burner was a great plus during a rainy weekend. Communication with Katy was excellent, she is very helpful and replies to queries quickly. The children made friends with the neighbours. They had a great time and can’t wait to go back.

Lovely cozy quiet charming!

Stayed with my husband and my mom. Was near to my sister which was perfect! So quiet and restful and had everything we needed for a wonderful 5 night stay. Hope to come back to the cottage at the end of the trip for a couple nights. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I grew up in London but this is the place I came with my parents and 7 brothers and sisters every holiday! How we all fitted in I don't know, but we used to have a caravan round the corner in the garden where some of us used to sleep. I have very fond memories of holidays here, the freedom of running round the countryside and coming back to flop at the sun trap outside the front door. Building dens, having a bonfire in the garden that's what the place is all about.

The view, the quiet, the birdsong and the enormous range of things to do in the area. There is a wealth of different landscapes from estuary, beach, woodland and marshland. East Anglia has the highest proportion of medieval architecture in the whole of Europe and there are some real jewels within very easy reach.
