Matisse est l’un des quatre appartements de vacances de la Maison Pierre D’Or, une maison en pierre traditionnelle situĂ©e en bordure du centre mĂ©diĂ©val de Sarlat, dans la magnifique rĂ©gion de Dordogne, dans le PĂ©rigord Noir, dans le sud-ouest de la France.

Matisse est le point de départ idéal pour explorer la ville et la campagne environnante. Idéal pour les couples (bien que pouvant accueillir 3 adultes ou 2 adultes et 2 enfants), il se trouve à 5 minutes à pied du centre médiéval avec ses marchés, ses bistros, ses places pittoresques et ses bùtiments historiques.

L'appartement comprend un salon confortable, une chambre trÚs confortable, une cuisine conviviale et bien équipée, une salle de bains moderne et un jardin d'hiver lumineux et spacieux donnant sur un balcon privé offrant une superbe vue sur Sarlat. C'est l'endroit idéal pour partager un verre ou deux de bon vin local et se détendre au soleil.

L'attention a Ă©tĂ© portĂ©e aux dĂ©tails. L'appartement a Ă©tĂ© meublĂ© avec une belle lumiĂšre, meubles en chĂȘne. La chambre a un lit king size exceptionnellement confortable avec des draps en coton frais et frais et des oreillers moelleux. La salle de douche a une promenade dans la douche avec de l'eau chaude sur le robinet et des serviettes moelleuses fabuleuses. La cuisine est entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e, il y a aussi une cafetiĂšre Nespresso. La tĂ©lĂ©vision reçoit les chaĂźnes françaises et anglaises. Il y a des lampes bizarres et des peintures d'un artiste local, faisant de Matisse l'endroit idĂ©al pour votre sĂ©jour en Dordogne.

Oh, et il y a un parking gratuit sur place et WiFi gratuit (haut débit gratuit). Internet haut débit gratuit.

A delightful apartment on the edge of Sarlat with a 10 minute walk to the downtown. So easy to enjoy the many pleasures of the town, which is an amazing piece of medieval architecture. Host and hostess were very nice to us and we really enjoyed staying with them.

Just perfect

The apartment is everything I hoped for, and more, a 'home from home' which was spotlessly clean. It's true to the photos but they don't reflect the 'feel' of the place. Within a week I felt like I was staying in the home of friends. The hosts, Maggie and Ahm strike the perfect balance between privacy and helpfulness/support. They provide loads of useful information about the area that made planning day trips much easier. I have no hesitation in recommending Matisse and am delighted to have met Maggie and Ahm, they made my road trip adventure through France all the more enjoyable. Thank you.

Charmante Wohnung

Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Gastgeber waren sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich und jederzeit ansprechbar. Die Altstadt von Sarlat ist fußlĂ€ufig erreichbar. Wir haben uns in den zwei Wochen dort sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt.

One pleasure after another

The property itself is superb in amenities, beauty, and convenience. The hosts are a kind, thoughtful, helpful and charming couple. The area is magical, having many medieval structures and wde, breathtaking vistas.I wish we could have stayed a month! (PS, you must tour Rocamadour. It was enchanting!)

This was a fantastic apartment for our 6-day stay. Our hosts were so welcoming and very helpful!!! The apartment was even better than the beautiful photos. We Alternated days spent exploring Sarlat town with days out to prehistoric sites (Lascaux II is amazing), huge caves, bastide towns, and the beautiful countryside

We are a Canadian couple who have stayed in many property rentals over the years and we have to say that this property is the best of the best. The apartment is immaculate, quiet, fully equipped, even if you want to cook. Everything works and the lighting is great. It is lovingly and tastefully decorated. And on top of all that, Maggie and Ahm are the most responsive and thoughtful hosts. They go the extra mile to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Just wish there was a higher rating to give them. 5+++

It is a lovely flat in an ideal location, only a few minutes from the centre of town. It is a good place from where to explore the Dordogne, and in the flat was a guide which we found very useful. We had a good welcome when we arrived and enjoyed our stay. We will visit again if we get the opportunity. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Charming apartment within walking distance to historic Sarlat.

Clean, comfortable, well appointed Perfect spot for us. Took daily walks to historic center for dinner and shopping. There is a wonderful market all day Saturdays. We were fortunate enough to have the host tell us about the yearly candlelight walk. Such a treat. Took side trips to Beynac and Rocamodour.

Great stay in Sarlat in a beautiful apartment

The apartment is exactly as described and Maggie is a wonderful host. The apartment for 2 people is spacious and they have planned and thought of everything you would need.. you can easily walk into Sarlat for food and shopping. There is loads to do in the area and Maggie has put together loads of information for days out. We followed a few of these and had great days. Thanks for a wonderful week in Sarlat would definitely recommend

Great location, view, and amenities

What a great location for a base for our time in the Dordogne Valley! The apartment was lovely, the hosts friendly, and there was ample written information to help us with the apartment and environs. This location was an easy walk into Sarlat-la-Caneda old town and there is also a spot to keep your car on the property. The apartment would suit 2-4 people and the view of Sarlat from our terrace was so therapeutic!

This apartment (Matisse) was the best one I’ve stayed in! Maggie and Ahm, the owners, went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The photos of this apartment show exactly what it is like
.unlike the other apartments I’ve stayed in. The selection of kitchen equipment was perfect, the location a 15 minute walk into Sarlat

Maison Pierre d’Or

Lovely place, lovely owners, lovely stay
 It is worth staying here, near the village (10 minutes walk), surrounded by castles and caves. The apartment seems to have been recently refurbished and decorated with taste. It has everything you need and more. The owners live next door and if something is needed, they are at your disposal. Definitely we'd come back and recommend it!

Maggie and Ahm were incredibly helpful both before and during our stay. The apartment is well appointed and has a lovely sun porch where we spent most of our time when we were in the apartment. We stayed for a week and took several all day trips. Sarlat is a good base for that.

We bought Maison Pierre D'Or in September 2016. It was already established as luxury holiday apartments.

We have spent the first year painting and decorating and refurbishing the apartments to make them comfortable and welcoming places to stay. We aim to give all our guests a wonderful time whilst staying with us.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

The house is on the edge of the old town. Conveniently positioned, just a short walk of 10 minutes and you are at the centre of medieval Sarlat.

The house consists of four apartments which all have their unique character. There are two large apartments which are named after French painters: Monet and Matisse; a smaller apartment: Cezanne; and a spacious loft studio: Gauguin.

There is parking at the house which is a great bonus during the busy summer months when parking in the centre is at a premium.

Sarlat is a stunning place, with wonderful buildings and markets. It is situated in the middle of beautiful countryside, historic chateaux, prehistoric caves and wonderful gardens. We think you will fall in love with it too.
