Beautiful apartment quite near central Genova. Excellent host communication. You need strong legs, since the ascend from the city is quite demanding. It’s worth it, though. Highly recommendable!

More assistance needed to locate the unit. The property is very comfortable in size and facilities. It was very difficult to locate the front door, the lockbox… we were fortunate to find a neighbour. We were surprised to find a sofa bed rather than an actual bed. Also the 200 steps up from the main street would be taxing. The location is very good to view the historical city and the sea. It is very clean and well stocked

Great location

Easy place to stay and nice apartment. Close to old town and everything Genoa has to offer. Was very hot during the stay so was good to have fans!

charming old world apartment it is. Not a family friendly apartment. The apartment is located on a very steep, very hilly terrain, making it difficult to walk to and from each day, no air conditioning and only sofa beds making it a little less charming. It was especially difficult travelling with a 3yr old, a stroller and the ability to get to the water. (All questions asked in advance). To be fair the train that could bring you easily up and down from the steep up hill apartment was broken. There are also a lot of vintage Knick knacks and artifacts all over the apartment. Not a good idea with a 3yr who wants to touch everything. We had to check out after one night as it was way too hot and a hilly. The amenities were also not in proper working order so notes were left all over the apartment on how to use or to be gentle. It was too stressful with a child. The host did give us a one night refund on our 4 night booking. I'm sure if you are a young couple travelling in the fall it would be ok.

Dear Laura, as already expressed to you, we are sorry your stay didn't meet your expectations, but we must clarify some details for future guests. All characteristics - including the historic "old world" nature, steep terrain, absence of A/C (normally not a problem except during this year's exceptional heatwave), sofa beds, and vintage decor - are clearly described and visible in our photos. The apartment is exactly as advertised. The notes left around are simply helpful courtesy guidance, not because amenities don't work. Over the years, many families with young children have stayed without any concerns about "knick-knacks". Guests who prefer different setups naturally choose other options; it was your choice to book. Regarding the funicular railway, its breakdown was a temporary public service issue beyond our control. Before arrival, you only asked about visiting Portofino, and we gave detailed options. No questions were asked about the seaside, we are right in the center of Genoa. You requested to modify your stay after check-in, not permitted by VRBO's policy. Yet, we agreed to refund 50% of our actual payout as you requested. It is unfair to claim we only refunded 1 night, confusing our generosity with VRBO’s own service fees and taxes, which only the platform can refund. We even spent time helping you try to deal with VRBO on this. We always strive to be helpful, even when guests do not review our detailed listing carefully before booking. We wish you the best.

Good property but hilly

This property was as advertised, the services and amenities were as described, there were no issues at all with the property. It is situated in a quiet, pleasant neighbourhood, in reasonable proximity to the historic and cultural heart of Genoa. However prospective guests need to keep in mind that the property is situated high up on a hill so those with some mobility limitations may want to consider a location in the flatter part of the city. We needed to make a lot of use of taxis because of this

Lovely Apartment in Genoa

We enjoyed our stay in Genoa. Silvia the host was very helpful; she communicated well. We had everything we needed for the two nights that we stayed in the area. We were there in July. There was no A/C but we were comfortable opening the windows which provided a cool, steady breeze. The apartment was fully furnished with all of the amenities that we needed and there were two fans to help circulate the air-flow. We also enjoyed the character and nostalgia of the lift. The apartment was on the fifth floor, but it was very easy to access. The building had a lot of character to it. We were able to navigate easily by using the buses, taxes, and accessing the funicular, which was just steps away.

Nice apartment with a great view on a super location

The apartment is well equiped, on the fifth floor (elevator) and situated on a hill, so you have a great view from the balcony over the citry center and the sea in the background. The apartment is clean, has two good sofabeds and a well equiped kitchen. It has an international atmosphere.

Grazie mille Carlo! L'ospite perfetto!! Grazie ancora Carlo!
