A perfect stay for a surprise birthday getaway

The cottage was brilliant, with everything we needed. The views amazing and in a perfect location - quiet but close enough to shops etc for any essentials. We hope to come back some time!

Perfect family holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rowan Cottage. The location was ideal, and the cottage itself was immaculate. The host was exceptionally kind and thoughtful, providing us with all the necessary amenities we needed. Overall, we highly recommend Rowan Cottage to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway.

Beautiful cottage! Very comfortable and nicely updated. There was even a nice goodie basket that the hosts had left for us when we arrived. Having a car is a must as the cottage is a bit out of Masham; for us this was not an issue. We would definitely stay here again!

Our host was friendly yet unobtrusive. There was a generous welcome pack on arrival. The house was finished to a very high spec and was warm and comfortable. The setting is perfect- very close to many sights yet very quiet with beautiful views. We have stayed in a lot of cottages in the UK and Europe- this is up there with the very best.

Lovely cottage and location

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Rowan Cottage very much. It is very well kept and decorated and the kitchen has everything we needed and more. The location is a great base to explore Nidderdale and has some local attractions nearby. Our only minor gripe was that the hedge in the front garden is so high it blocks most of the view.

Weekend away

1st time at this property and it didn’t disappoint,was exactly as the cottage was described ,the welcome pack was a lovely touch ,we took the grandson to light water valley which was a 20 minute drive and visited the local bar where the meals were lovely and the locals very friendly,the only downside was we didn’t stay long enough,definitely booking this place again , highly recommended

First class cottage

We were delighted with our stay at Rowan cottage. It's exceptionally neat and clean, roomy for a 2 bedroom property and superbly located with delightful views. The owners offer a warm and friendly welcome and many thoughtful touches. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and I suspect we will be back before too long. Loved it.

Cosy and comfortable

Immediately impressed by the cottage which was well equipped and decorated to a high standard. Good kitchen, comfortable bed and excellent shower. A very generous welcome pack was a thoughtful touch. We were travelling in a pre-war car so private parking was important. Enjoyed Nidderdale; Masham a lovely town, museum at Pateley Bridge a real find.

Nice house in a great location

The property is ideal for a couple or a young family. The master bedroom has a regular bed and a walk in closet - most unusual in these parts. There is also a stupendous view. The second bedroom has bunk beds which probably wouldn't work for adults. The bathroom is very new and the shower is excellent. Good pressure and never runs cold. Brand new kitchen. The washing machine and stove are a little confusing but with some trial and error, you'll figure it out. Comfortable lounge with a love seat and a settee. Pretty little garden in the back. The owners live next door and are responsive but not intrusive. We didn't want to leave after three weeks and we may be back next year.

Beautiful Cottage, Fantastic Location

The cottage is warm, welcoming, very clean and well equipped. The location is fantastic for lots of dog walks. The Beale family are wonderful hosts and the welcome pack was much appreciated; especially the homemade biscuits!! The locals are really friendly and helpful too. There are lots of places to visit; Brimham Rock & Aysgarth Falls to name a few. We had a very relaxing week there, would highly recommend.

Very well kept and well equipped cottage

Very clean on arrival and a lovely welcome pack was left for us. The village is picture perfect and there are walks from the door. Owner helpful but not intrusive. Everything we needed we found there in the cottage.

Excellent cosy cottage in lovely location

The cottage was a lovely cosy home away from home. The property managers were welcoming, the welcome basket was very thoughtful. We had a lovely break away from the city and hope to return in the future.

Beautiful location

Hosts live next door and made themselves available if needed. Garden was smaller than expected but gorgeous, uninterrupted views. Cottage was clean and had everything you could need. Beautiful welcome pack including tea, coffee, sugar, jam.and biscuits. Highly recommend as a base to explore Yorkshire.
