This is a lovely 3 bedroom villa with distant views of the northern coastline. The quality of the finishing is excellent and has large pool (although the weather wasn’t great during our stay so it wasn’t used). The nearest village is a 10 minute drive where there are 2 tavernas and a store/shop for basic provisions. The owner responded swiftly to all messages and hosted us for lunch at his taverna which is located at the local waterfalls. A car is definitely required as no amenities are within walking distance. Northern beaches are about 45 minutes drive from the villa and the southern beaches are about an hour driving time away. The local roads are narrow and the climb to and from the villa is steep. This is a perfect place for those who like to be ‘away from it all’ and are happy to drive for days out.

Crete June 2018. Carolyn

Lovely villa in a great place, has all the amenities you need, great showers and a lovely clean pool to cool you down on a hot day, very peaceful.Listen to the goats going up and down the mountains yet just a 15min drive down to tavernas to eat, at the water falls, and only a only 45mins run to Rethymno for the fortress and coastline. All in all a very good holiday

Fantastic Villa and host

We had a lovely stay in the Villa. Very impressed by the communication from both host and owner. Villa is set up in the mountains about 25 to 30 mins from the main National Road. Lovely views and their is a small supermarket in the nearest village about 10/15 mins away. Villa was clean with great facilities and a good base for our holidays. An added bonus was the free meal offered by the owner at his taverna by the Argyroupolis Springs. Highly recommended villa

Pros: Overall we had a lovely stay in Crete and the villa. The villa was stylish and clean, with comfortable beds and good showers. We had gifts left which were appreciated and included some biscuits from a local bakery which we enjoyed visiting a number of times. It was easy to contact people to resolve minor issues. Cons: The pool was disappointing. The lining was discoloured. It was very cold and we were only able to use it in the afternoon when it warmed up, and whilst in direct sun. The sea was much warmer. It also collected leaves, mud and debris very quickly, so overall not an enjoyable experience. Also the description is wrong, it is not 1.6m deep. My 10 year old could easily stand up and is closer to 1.2-1.3m max. A pool cover would be a very valuable addition. We had a clean and linen change during our 2 week stay, but not every 4 days like the description said.It would have been helpful to have a villa handbook or information provided about the villa and local area. Overall an enjoyable stay and lovely villa but we were disappointed by the pool and therefore didn’t use it as much as we would have liked.

Dear Emma, thank you very much for your thoughtful review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the villa’s design, comfort, welcome touches and the attentive support of our team. We also appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few details. Housekeeping is arranged every four days in line with the villa’s service plan, while our digital Housebook, with practical information about the residence and the local area, was shared with you prior to arrival for easy, paper-free access throughout your stay. The pool is presented as shown in the listing photography, while naturally its temperature and the occasional presence of leaves can vary depending on the weather conditions. Our pool team is trying to fully attentive. We truly value your feedback and are very pleased that, overall, you enjoyed both the villa and your time in Crete. It would be a pleasure to welcome you again in the future. Travel regards, ThinkVilla Team

Wonderful

We have just had a wonderful week at this villa. The views are amazing and the house itself is immaculately clean and modern with very comfortable beds. The outside area is great with full sun until about 6 in the evening with plenty of shady spots and a choice of seating areas. Ten minutes away is a local village which has a shop that is good for basics. It's half an hour to the nearest beach and 40 minutes away from Rethymno, it's perfect for peace and quiet and far enough away from the tourist areas. Communication from Think Villa and the host was excellent and the complimentary meal was very tasty and greatly appreciated at the local Taverna.

Wunderschönes Haus in traumhafter Lage
