Clara is a wonderful host - met us with a delicious cake and Port wine! Great recommendations for Fado and dinner and an All day Douro River tour with Lunch! Great communication. Easy to park - little distance from Porto - but Bolt was very convenient and reasonably priced! Loved our stay!

Clara is a fabulous host! She met us there with cake and wine, she also gave us info about the house and town. The house is beautiful! Perfect for our family of 4. Spacious and very clean, not to mention it is gorgeous! A plus for Americans, it has AC units! That was a very nice surprise! Easy parking. We used Uber into the city, would go to the highest points and typically walked our way back! Just stay here, you will not regret it. If we are ever back in Porto, we will be repeat guests!

Clara was a great host and made the check in process easy by meeting us at the property. She included some really great touches including some port wine and a delicious fig cake. She also gave us some great recommendations in Porto and was a great communicator. The apartment feels like a bit of a step back in time with lots of exposed stone walls, but is extremely comfortable and clean. It is about a 10 minute walk from the water with tons of resaurants/markets. The walk is on some hilly and tight streets, but it is totally manageable even with kids. Would definitely recommend.

The house was absolutely spotless and charming, and the location was close to many restaurants, a bakery, and the port lodges we visited. Clara was the best host I’ve had—great communication, flexible, full of recommendations, super quick to respond to questions, and very gracious. She is also an artist! Look for her beautiful paintings in the home. Thank you, Clara, for making us feel so welcome.

Clara is a wonderful host! She welcomed us with cake and port, gave us excellent recommendations, and was very responsive. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. The decor is beautiful. It’s an easy walk downhill to the center of town and a bakery, coffee shop, and market are around the corner. Two in our party are birders and they were birdwatching from the upstairs Juliet balcony. I hope we can return!

First off, Clara is one of the best hosts you will find. Her willingness to help you enjoy your stay and experience Porto is 2nd to none! If you have any questions from dining to excursions she has a wealth of info and ideas.The home is really in the heart of the Vila Nova de Gaia district and you are immersed in the local sights and sounds.It is an easy walk down to the rivers edge, just be mindful of the one way street down as it is shared by many vehicles and the spaces become less than you may be used to in some areas as you walk down. The walk back up is great for burning the calories off you added exploring the river front and beautiful Porto! We made several trips up and down and always felt safe while being aware of the traffic.The home is eclectically wonderful with many of Clara’s artistic touches. The older feel of her home matches the age and beauty of Porto. The main bedroom is spacious with an attached bathroom. There is an also spacious bedroom next door with the bathroom down the hall. We were a group of four and found it easy to make the two bedroom and bathroom scenario to work.There is also a very cute and comfortable upstairs room with a very large roof window that gives a photo worthy view of the city and bridges of Porto. Our weeks worth of adventures in Porto and the surrounding areas were made memorable with the home we were able to come to at the end of the day. We also had a car and were always able to find a place to park right outside our door

An excellent location for a stay in Porto. The host was extremely helpful and responsive. We were welcomed to her home with a fresh baked cake and some Port. We will look to stay here again for our next trip to Porto.

First off. Clara is a super host. She is so helpful and accommodating. The apartment is in such a great location in Vila da Gaia and its a short walk down to the river or to the port houses, but it is not in a touristy location at all. There is a stellar padaria around the corner for your morning coffee treats and daily bread. The apartment is roomy and the upper floor skylight view is idyllic and iconic. All the essentials are included and we were very comfortable. Again, Clara, thanks for everything. We loved it!

Authentic and Charming Home

We stayed in this property which is just on the south side of the Douro river and across from Porto. It was a charming rental in a very authentic Portuguese neighborhood. Clara, the house owner, was very communicative and helpful in every aspect of our trip. We'd definitely recommend a stay here!

Perfect Spot

Clara was very lovely! She met us at the home with an apple cake and port. The home was lovely and very clean with beautiful views. It is not in downtown Porto which was nice, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby.

Incredible hospitality

Clara's stone house is beautifully decorated in her wonderful whimsical style and had everything we needed for a fantastic 3 days. But most important Clara went out of her way to share her knowledge of the area, book a table for us at the Fada restaurant, meet us in person with cake and Port and in a warm and hospitable way make sure our needs were met.

Lovely oasis

The apartment was so charming and fit my family of 4 perfectly. Clara was an amazing host and gave us a lot of great recommendations and helped us book an beautiful tour of the Douro valley - a must see! 10/10 would recommend staying here if you are looking to be within walking distance of everything, but quiet enough and away from the tourists. Thanks again Clara for such a nice stay and wonderful lifetime memories!

We can't say enough amazing things about Clara's property@ We loved everything about it- the decorations, the space, the location and the host. Clara was so helpful in setting up tours and recommending restaurants and sites. I really appreciated the communication leading up to our visit. It helped us get excited and plan for the trip. Loved our stay in Porto!

Property is great and as advertised. Host was awesome and very accomodating. I would only add that this is in Gaia and a bit of a walk to Porto. It was not a big deal for us and it’s still very nice. But, it could be something to consider for some people. We would defiantly stay here again if ever back in the area.
