President’s Day stay

Perfect little getaway!

Great little getaway

A cozy little farmhouse with antique headboards, rollout desk, and a wonderful old Zenith radio. Very relaxing weekend. Communication with the owner was easy and prompt. We'll definitely stay again!

Like Staying at Grandma’s House

Wonderful little old house on a farm pond. Look out the windows in the morning to see farm fields and cows.The whole vibe reminded me of Grandma’s house or Dorothy’s house in the Wizard of Oz.It’s a great place to stay for a trip to visit Benedictine College.

Another awesome weekend in the country

We've stayed at this property twice now and loved it just as much the second time around. Its a perfect getaway for anyone looking for peace and quiet in a quaint country setting. Marlene is a great host and very responsive to messages. I highly recommend this property.

I was looking for a quiet place, close to home, for my cousin and mw to stay, for a nice, peaceful, weekend visit. Grandma's House was perfect! So quiet, a beautiful setting, and everything we needed at our fingertips.

Unique farm house with cows out the front door

Such a sweet house. There are many interesting historical pieces to admire in this quaint farmhouse. Beds were comfortable and the view out the front door of the cows and the pond out the backdoor were wonderful!

Comfortable and cozy

We love to stay here. It’s clean, cozy and simple. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is equipped to prepare a simple meal and pot of coffee. The setting is peaceful and quiet. It feels like a home away from home when visiting family.

Beautiful country house

This place is exactly what we were looking for. Peaceful country setting but just 10 min from St Joe and all of the amenities of a city. We were greeted by the cows that came to the fence ever morning to say hello. We spent most of our days in KC sightseeing but this was a great home to come back to.

Stayed here for parents weekend at Benedictine. About 15 ish minutes from campus. My son caught a bass fishing in the pond!

Classic Lakehouse

We stayed here as a family and had a fabulous time and made really great memories together. We enjoyed everything about the house and lake. It was restful and fun at the same time. The hosts are really great and provide a terrific home that all ages could enjoy -- from the fully stocked kitchen to the games for all ages. The layout of the home is also a bonus -- the great room allowed us to be together and the downstairs provided quiet downtime as well as fun games to play together. It's a really great place to be together.

Home Away from Home

Overall wonderful. There was a beautiful blanket of snow on the ground. However, the driveway was not cleared which created difficulty in driving up to the house. Also, the home was only 50 degrees when we arrived and it takes a while to warm up so that made for a chilly first night in the house.

Relaxing visit at grandma’s

I love the old trinkets and quirky decor. Everything is clean, the beds are comfortable. I have stayed here many times. The only improvements needed would be to make available nicer shampoo, conditioner, shower gel. This time the offerings were Head and Shoulders shampoo, very little (almost empty) Finness conditioner and soft soap hand soap. Also a lighted post to mark the driveway. Maybe a little solar light. Otherwise, very comfortable.

Graduation weekend in the country

We were remiss in booking a place early that would accommodate 5 people so this was the only place close to St Joseph that was available on graduation weekend. Although it was a little far out, it was a beautiful location. We were pleasantly surprised with the peace and serenity. We completely enjoyed our stay. The only critique I can offer is that the shower head was not functional for taking a shower. There was a message asking us not to move the shower head and it was pointed directly at the door and you could not get under the water.
