I have lived abroad for several years, I'm fluent in English and German, I love travelling and discover countries off the beaten track. I have lived in Paris, which I love, for a long time but I have brought up my 2 daughters in Honfleur with my English husband. After he died, I decided to come back and live in Honfleur and manage my 2 rental cottages full time. I'm very fond of the place which bears a lot of memories for me but which is also rich in history. La Ferme and la Bergerie were indeed part of a property which once belonged to a local poetess, Lucie Delarue-Mardrus, married to a famous orientalist, Dr Mardrus, a renowned translater of the 1001 Nights stories in the 1930's.
I now live in her house which she named The Pavillon de la Reine because it had been built for Queen Marie-Antoinette! I love Honfleur and Normandy for its rich historical and cultural patrimony, its fine sand beaches and its countryside, only 2 hours away from Paris!
I like sharing my favourite places and my good tips with you and I remain available during your stay to help you discover Honfleur and its surroundings off the beaten track!
