Trainspotting n'a pas besoin d'être un fantasme. Au Porter’s Lodge, vous pouvez littéralement vous asseoir au bord des pistes et vous détendre. Rez-de-chaussée: salon. Cuisine avec coin repas. Salle de douche avec toilette. Premier étage: 1 chambre double (peut être double). Poêle à bois dans le salon (carburant initial inclus). Radiateurs électriques inclus. CD. Cuisinière électrique. Laveuse / sécheuse. Réfrigérateur. Coin salon et mobilier. Parking (1 voiture) .. Véritable joyau des passionnés du rail, cette gare victorienne est composée du Station House (réf HW7742) (l’ancienne maison du maître de gare) et du Porter’s Lodge (réf HW7806), situés dans un village paisible. Ils se trouvent juste à côté du chemin de fer à vapeur du patrimoine de Llangollen, qui serpente à travers le magnifique paysage de la vallée de la Dee entre Llangollen et Corwen. Le Station House bénéficie d'un joli jardin de cottage et est décoré sur le thème de Noël pendant les fêtes. Le Porter’s Lodge dispose d’un coin salon adjacent au ravissant pont de la gare, où vous pourrez vous asseoir avec un verre de vin et regarder les trains passer. C’est un endroit idéal pour explorer les environs, avec de superbes promenades à pied, l’observation des oiseaux et une myriade d’activités de plein air à proximité. Llangollen, où se trouve le festival international de musique Eisteddfod, offre de belles promenades le long du canal et de l'aqueduc de Pontcysyllte. Erddig et le château de Chirk (NT) se trouvent à proximité et le parc national de Snowdonia est facilement accessible. Magasinez 3 miles, pub et restaurant 0. 5 miles .. Wonderful few days.

Wonderful few days. Just delightful to sit outside and watch the trains go by. Very clean and tidy. Very comfortable furnishings. Our only problem was it's a bit difficult to get into the bed when it is linked as a double because of the angle of the roof. Lots to do in the area but just great sitting watching trains. Very clean and comfortable.

Very clean and comfortable. Everything thought of even down to washing machine pegs iron and ironing board. The week we went it was steam trains all week. One every hour. Bonus of an extra train on the Sunday evening bringing passengers to a firework display which was in the opposite field so I got to watch it from the comfort of the velux bedroom window.. Not only did I comment in the visitors book but I also left the caretaker/cleaner a thank you card.

We had a great holiday! Being next to the station was ideal as we love trains. The cottage is smart, clean and well provided with equipment. Some crockery low but as only 2 people no problem. Loved the pictures! Lounge could do with another window but again no problem as only used in evenings. Love the area and there is plenty to see and do. Good places to eat and people friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful week in the porters lodge.

We had a wonderful week in the porters lodge. Watching the weekend steam trains puffing into the station, as we had a coffee in the garden, on the station platform, was just wonderful. We had a great evening on the ale train and the scenery is just wonderful. We were blessed with snowfall half way through the week and the mountains topped in snow, were just so very beautiful. Lovely cottage, so comfy and homely, especially with the log burner. I would so recommend this property as a wonderful, quirky holiday and we will return in the future.

Really well appointed cottage - everything you could need is supplied from kitchen supplies to a selection of DVDs to loads of plugs! The only slight issue was that the main kitchen light didn't work so it was a little dark in there and we had to move a couple of lamps around to see to eat at the table in the evening. But only a minor point, otherwise comfy and clean with a brilliant location right next to the train line. Recommended!

The staycation I've had in a very long time. The sensory is unbelievable and just beautiful. The cottage it's self is homely and spacious. Lots to do in the surrounding areas walks views etc. I am and would definitely go back and stay at porter's lodge.
