This little cottage grew on me in the end.

This little cottage grew on me in the end. My initial impression was that it needed a spring clean. Cobwebs and dust on skirtings etc.It's pretty small but it's very nicely laid out. The kitchen taps were interesting, you have to run the cold for a while before the water ran cold! It really confused me the first time, I couldnt figure out which was hot and cold tap! The water was heated through combi boiler, so hot water was always available, which is a massive plus. My dog enjoyed the cottage and settled in her den quickly. There is no lawn for a dog though. So you have to find somewhere to take your dog. The small patio outside is paved and an unsuitable toilet area. On arrival the key safe was hard to find. It's inside the glass fronted side doors, which looks like it's part of the other house. So not obvious. Also, there are two key safes! Yours is the one on the right! The toilet upstairs is raised up and quite difficult to sit on, so get ready for that. The shower also is poky and a little grimy. This cottage would be top marks if it was cleaner. The town of Shap is okay. A Co op is really close by and a chippy. Three pubs in the village too although I didn't visit them. I was there working, so probably wouldn't consider this a tourist destination. Overall I'd recommend this little place for workers or short breaks.

Nice little cottage tucked away from the high street but only a short walk to the shops and pubs, A bit dusty in places with lots of cobwebs in the eves upstairs but generally clean and tidy. The living room is small but cosy, kitchen has everything you should need even for a long stay. The bedroom has good storage however the bed frame feels worn out and creeks even when turing over which could wake a partner up. I only down scored overall because we had no hand soap in the bathroom when we arrived and half a toilet roll other than that it was good value.

Had a lovely time here with our dog.

Had a lovely time here with our dog. Cottage is compact but has everything you’d need for a week away and was clean and tidy for our arrival. Really enjoyed our stay and the Prosecco was a nice touch Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Gorgeous cottage, had a lovely stay. Really cosy and comfortable! Lovely bottle of bubbly on arrival which was a nice surprise! Very quiet and quaint. I thought the cottage and location was lovely, and the cottage itself was very nicely laid out and very clean. We had some lovely walks with the dog, and the shops and pubs were within walking distance. However there was no getting away from the musty smell which I believe was the settee and chair, which to be fair the settee was very small and not very comfortable to lounge about in for two people. Would have been nice to have a bit more garden segregated off at the rear. And it is useful to have a viewing mirror so you can safely pull out of the drive. Beautiful cottage .

Beautiful cottage . Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return . Bottle of bubbly for us on arrival, lots of leaflets to help find local walks etc . Extremely happy.
