Sunny small room not far from Top site seeing

This was just as I had expected so it did not disappoint! Clean, sunny, comfortable. A lovely small room with easy access to Metro, busses, and easy access to airport. It was perfect for myself, might be a bit small for two people so enjoy the closeness :-).

Sehr wenig Platz. Für 1 Nacht OK, aber nicht mehr. Suspekte Gegend. Haben uns draussen am Abend nicht sehr wohl gefühlt. Zimmer war aber sehr sauber und ruhig. Für den günstigen Preis OK.

Cute small space!

The space was great for what we needed it to be while we explored Lisbon - the room was very clean and quiet, although you can hear the people in the other rooms/shared space in the hostel pretty easily. The location was a little father away than I would have liked ~20 minute walk to things, but overall it was fine. Things were a little cramped though in the bathroom and the bedroom as it wasn't the biggest space! The hosts were very communicative though.

Just For One Night

Like some of the other reviews, we didn't realize that it had a communal kitchen and living room area ( my bad for not reading between the lines), however, the room itself was great! It was situated on the back corner of the building away from the street with a lovely little balcony and large windows that were safe to leave open while sleeping. We were returning from Porto and only needed it for one night, so the kitchen was no big deal. I would have given it 5 stars except it was the same price per night as the large 2 bedroom we had for our first three nights in Lisbon at the beginning of our trip. A bit pricey for a bed & breakfast without the breakfast, but there are not many places on VRBO that you can get for just one night, so it definitely met our needs. BTW, the bed was great and there's a metro stop right around the corner!

Quiet room for a one night stay over in a nice district

Whole property is very pretty, an old apartment block with beautiful tiles, close to Intendente metro station. The room and bathroom is small , and the bed possibly a bit short to fit the room. but that was fine for us. Had to chase arrival instructions through vrbo which was a stress I’d rather not have had but once in contact very helpful. We were able to drop our cases off earlier as our room had been cleaned which was a big bonus…thankyou :)

3 days in Lisbon

All we wanted was a clean room to relax from all the touring that we did , and that’s what we got . The hostess was very friendly and helpful.

It was very pricey for the time of Neighborhood where it was located

I had huge trouble finding parking it a very busy area of Lisbon. The rooms are very tiny European Style, So don’t expect a lot of space in the bedrooms. It’s a shared space, I probably overlooked that in the disclaimer. The Restaurants close by are very good especially A Carvoaria. The Food is amazing there. Great place to get some Portuguese Food. Well overall it’s a very place nice terrace in the bedrooms. I am not a big fan of shared space so I was surprised by it. In the future I will definitely read the fine print and disclaimer to confirm it is not a shared space.

Misleading description but otherwise comfortable

We needed a place in Lisbon just for one night prior to flying home. This rental was good value, but misleading in the VRBO listing, where it was described as 'an apartment'. As others have noted (I didn't read the reviews prior to booking), it is a bedroom and very small bathroom in what is really a guesthouse. All the doors are locked with a code so that was good. The kitchen and living space is communal, and breakfast appears to be provided in some instances (other booking sites?). It was clean though not immaculate, The A/C worked well, and there's a tiny balcony where people hang laundry. The location is convenient to walking around the old part of Lisbon, and a 10 min drive from the airport. The listing indicated covered parking is available, but we didn't find any and the owner didn't respond to the question. It wasn't hard to find street paid parking (very inexpensive overnight). If you are not anticipating spending too much time in the place, or are OK with communal amenities, this would be fine and value for money. If not, you may want to look elsewhere.

LISBON

Clean, quiet room with very comfortable bed and an en-suite bathroom (rm #8 in the back) and an excellent AC unit. Conveniently located close to metro, bus and tram access. @7min walk to a Fauna & flora restaurant with good breakfast & excellent coffee. We gave it a 4/5 on accuracy of listing because it was not readily apparent to us when we booked through the VRBO site that we were renting a room in a large apartment (7 other rooms) with the shared common areas under security surveillance. Common areas were clean & tidy as it appears one of the managers came in daily to do this.

Listing Very Misleading

The bedroom was nice, very bright and pleasant, and the bathroom was ridiculously small but fine. The listing is very misleading, however, calling it an “apartment” when it’s really just a bedroom suite, and including more pictures of the other spaces without clearly identifying that they are common areas. You can “get cozy in front of the tv” or cook a meal in the kitchen but you may be doing it with other guests of the house. I am not one to leave a negative review but didn’t want others to be fooled like we were.

Very Clean-Safe Area

Disappointed that the free covered parking spot (apparently just one) was "occupied" and we had to find street parking. We were only there one night so we made it work. Left the windows open because it was hot and stuffy. My daughter had MANY bug bites in the morning- apparently biting gnats from outside. Lesson learned. A fan would be helpful since windows cannot be left open. Walkable to a few cafes.

Never Again

Unfortunately, we cannot understand the good movements at all. You don't rent an apartment here, just a room with a bathroom (the kitchen and living room are used by seven other rooms). Unfortunately the floor wasn't really clean, probably it was only swept and not mopped. Unfortunately, the bathroom has no window. Accordingly, in the shower is already a lot of dark spots. Unfortunately, the water from the shower head comes out with very little pressure and the water in the shower hardly drains off. The sink conversion is extremely small with no space to put things like toothbrush/toothpaste etc. What we found most unpleasant, however, was the smell coming from the bathroom. It smells like a sewer all the time in here. Unfortunately, we couldn't measure the bed because we didn't have a meter with us, but it's definitely not 2 m long, as usual beds are, not suitable for people from 1.70-1.80m, feet look out over the bed. We very rarely write reviews, but when a cockroach surprised us in the bathroom last morning, we crossed a clear line. It's really a shame that the landlady wasn't willing to accommodate us. Wir können die guten Bewegungen leider gar nicht nachvollziehen. Man mietet hier keine Wohnung, sondern nur ein Zimmer mit Bad (Küche und Wohnzimmer werden von sieben weiteren Zimmern genutzt). Leider war der Boden nicht richtig sauber, vermutlich wurde er nur gefegt und nicht gewischt. Das Bad hat leider kein Fenster. Dementsprechend ist in der Dusche bereits viele dunkle Flecken. Das Wasser aus dem Duschkopf kommt leider nur mit sehr wenig Druck und das Wasser in der Dusche läuft kaum ab. Das Waschbecken Umbau ist extrem klein, man hat keinen Platz Dinge wie Zahnbürste/Zahnpasta etc. abzustellen. Am unangenehmsten fanden wir jedoch den Geruch, der aus dem Bad kommt. Hier riecht es durchgehend nach Abfluss. Wir konnten das Bett leider nicht messen, da wir keinen Meter dabei hatten, aber es ist definitiv keine 2 m lang, wie es übliche Betten sind, für Personen ab 1.70-1.80m nicht geeignet, Füße schauen über das Bett hinaus. Wir schreiben sehr selten Bewertungen, aber als uns im letzten Morgen eine Kakerlake im Bad überrascht hat, war für uns eine klare Grenze überschritten. Wirklich sehr schade, dass die Vermieterin nicht bereit war uns entgegen zu kommen.

Normally our guests praise the service, but in the face of your comment we will contact the person in charge of that department. In our guest house, the guest experiences the maximum of the architectural concept of Lisbon, as our house was originally built in 1898. But for maximum comfort, we preserve the beauty of the architecture and remodel parts of the house. It is properly identified in the vrbo that the reservation is for a suite and not an apartment Room 8 has a total area of 14m2, decorated ceiling with a height of 3 meters. Private bathroom with hot water availability and air extraction and renewal system Natural lighting with 2 double-glazed windows to seal out noise. Electronic locks and air conditioning This room has a beautiful balcony and a wall decorated with original bricks from 1898! We installed an air treatment unit that allows the extraction, purification and renewal of the air that circulates in all rooms. Guest House H&S 1898 is very well located in Arroios, the heart of Lisbon. There are a few steps, less than 30 meters, to access Lisbon's tram lines. There is also easy access to bus stop, metro station in 100 meters.

Gastgeber fantastisch und sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft einfach aber sauber. Für eine Woche und jüngere Leute ideal. Es fehlt an Ablagemöglichkeiten, wie z.b. im Badezimmer aber auch im Schlafzimmer. Küche ist für alle zusammen, nicht wie im Bild im Zimmer einbegriffen.
