The home was such an incredible, inviting space. So many personal touches that made us want to stay there all day. So close to Main St. and had the Fredericksburg vibe you are looking for. The deer were there around 5pm each day and they provided feed which was fun! Clean, well-decorated and worth it!

Very nice cottage in a great location. The owners are extremely helpful with providing abundant information on the current events in the area. Really enjoyed sitting on the porch at night watching the deer. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Fredricksburg.

Clean, great hosts, deer nearby that you can feed, birds at the bird feeder, and a very comfy cabin. Close enough to downtown that it’s a short drive in, far enough away that you feel like you’re in the country. It’s very quiet and peaceful here. One of my favorite places to stay when visiting Fredericksburg.

If you are looking for a quiet place, this is the place. Convenient to Main Street shopping. Lynn has thought of everything you would want plus more. The bed was comfortable and the cottage was decorated to make us feel right at home. We spent a lot of time on the backporch which backs up to acreage where lots of deer roam. We will be back!

This was our favorite VRBO stay so far. The cottage was clean and beautiful inside and out. We loved feeding the deer and watching the birds every day from our porch. There was so much attention to detail and you can tell the hosts aim to keep their guests happy. We can't wait to stay again the next time we are in the Hill Country! This little Cottage is amazing! After a full day of exploring the history of this intriguing town, we would arrive back at the cottage, relax on the porch and feed the deer. There is 1500 acres to look out over. Very quiet and peaceful. The Cottage itself is extremely cozy and is beautifully furnished. The Hosts communicated very well on arrival and departure needs. We truly enjoyed our visit. We are of the Older sort, so the peace and quiet was perfect. To the Hosts, Thank You.

The cottage was the perfect getaway for us. So wonderfully decorated above the top with the fall decorations. All the deer coming right to our back porch was incredible. A bucket of corn was sitting for us to feed the deer and was a main attraction for us. We will definitely be coming back again.

Immaculate! This place is so clean, it would pass anyone’s white glove test. Every possible amenity has been provided. Very comfortable and cozy cottage, you won’t want to leave. We spent a lot of time sitting on the back porch watching and feeding the deer. We will definitely stay here again. Lynn and Jerry are wonderful hosts!

We love staying here when we come to Fredericksburg. We have stayed here 4 times now and loved it each time. The home is warm and inviting when you arrive and we love all of the personal touches that are added to the charm of the home. We love the location. You can be in downtown in less than 5 minutes but it feels like you're out in the country while sitting on the back porch watching and feeding the deer that come up just 10 feet away. We will always try to stay here when we come to town!!

The cottage exceeded every expectation! Beautiful, clean, well appointed and in a beautiful setting with peace, quiet and nature! We enjoyed the back porch for our own little secluded nature watching! We saw deer, an owl, hummingbirds, tanagers, a cardinal, hawks and squirrels. Lovely property and the owners had appointed the cottage with snacks, coffee, kitchen supplies, toiletries and so much more! Hospitality is on full display! We look forward to staying here again in the future! The owners communicated everything we needed for check in, check out and all about the area’s attractions and eateries! Perfect vacation rental in every way!!

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again! The cottage was quiet, cozy, and had everything we needed and more. I especially loved relaxing on the back porch with a cup of coffee and watching the local wildlife. It was the perfect peaceful getaway.

This cottage is the ideal place for a quiet, romantic get-a-away in a beautiful country setting that is only a 5-7 minute drive to historic downtown Fredericksburg . The hosts live next door in a home on the same property, for easy communication if needed. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed
.from the beautiful fall decor that is everywhere in the house, to the fully stocked kitchen and bathroom with many little extras in case you forgot something, including bathrobes! These hosts go above and beyond any VRBO house we have rented
they provided us with coffee, tea, juices, a basket of snacks and even doggie treats for our pup. This was an added surprise and we greatly appreciated the welcoming touch. They also provide deer food on the back porch, where you can sit to enjoy your morning coffee or dusk wine while feeding the many deer that will visit the back fence
.so beautiful. There are also humming birds and many butterflies to enjoy. Inside the cottage, the living room was so inviting and had very comfortable furniture. The king sized bed was perfect for a good night’s rest after a day of sightseeing. The hosts thought of everything 
.providing us with many brochures for the area, e-mailing us activities and additional happenings during our stay and even gave us some coupons for a local restaurants. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Lynn and Jerry’s cottage.

The stay was great. I did exactly what I had intended to do and that was absolutely nothing. Really enjoyed feeding the deer (corn provided). Just about everything was provided, snacks, some juices, cooking and eating utensils, you name it. The owners were right next door but you really didn’t know it. Great stay, can’t wait to book again.

We had such a delightful time at this wonderful little cottage. The property was clean. Instructions for everything were made clear and easy. We got to wake up and see deer eating 10 feet away from us. And the butterflies flitting around our front as you walk in really gives this cottage a magical touch. Would definitely stay here again.

Lynn and Jerry's ADORABLE home exceeded any expectations we had. From the minute you drive up, you are greeted by hundreds of butterflies and Texas flowers. Entering the cottage, the unique decor which is more than comfortable makes you feel right at home. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would ever need, bathroom is large with fluffy towels and bathrobes. The king size bedroom looks out over the front of the cottage with a view of flowers and butterflies. Nice sized comfortable living room with a TV and beautiful fireplace with a whimsical mantel. Our absolute FAVORITE part of the this house was the covered back porch. In the hot Texas summer the breeze and ceiling fan kept us comfortable. Completely private, we enjoyed our mornings drinking coffee and watching nature wake up. So many hummingbirds came to feed, along with many native birds and of course the deer who walk right up to the fence, ready for their deer corn which is provided by your hosts. The evenings are the best on the porch. We enjoyed a bottle of local Texas wine watching the fireflies and just taking a deep breath. The town offers a lot to do, but believe me, we would have rather stayed in the house the whole time. Lynn and Jerry are terrific hosts. They communicate quickly, have great suggestions and make you feel right at home. This is Texas hospitality at it's finest. We're already planning our next trip!

Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. The location is just a few minutes away from Main Street, but on the edge of country. We enjoyed our evening visits from deer, which we were able to feed with corn, provided by our host. The place was well kept, clean and had most everything we needed to cook, eat with and sleep comfortably. If we visit Fredericksburg again, we’ll definitely arrange to stay here.

A love of history compelled the owners to purchase this historic German homestead in 2007. Both owners were originally from the Panhandle of Texas, and both were lovers of antiques, so property called out to them for a full restoration, and the final step in that process was the construction of this beautiful and comfortable guest house on a private corner of the property.

Escape from your every day stresses & demands to a quiet, comfortable and luxurious Cottage with views, wildlife, and its own unique history to recharge & refresh your outlook on life! The man who built the German limestone home on this property, Jacob Neffendorf, was one of the original surveyors of the Fredericksburg townsite. Later, he returned as on of the first 120 settlers who founded Fredericksburg in May 1846. This property is on Outlot 319, as designated by the German Immigration Society, and the new owners were able to secure a Texas Historic Marker for the property in May 2012. A full copy of the research for the Marker, with photos and maps, is available for guests to enjoy in the Cottage - old world charm and history meet modern amenities and luxury on a historic German farmstead! Your visit is "contactless", and includes meal coupons!

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

The property contains many original components of the German farmstead - the rock-lined, hand-dug well always has water, the three-legged Aeromotor windmill is in its original location near the Cottage, a Roos block tank house with a rock tank on top supplied the two-story rock homestead with water beginning in the 1920s. The original rock lined cellar and smokehouse are on the property, too. All these unique and historic features can be enjoyed by Cottage guests, along with their spacious, luxurious quarters and their private views of the 1,500 acre ranch behind the homestead.
