Cette ferme de 4 chambres des années 1920 est parfaitement assise sur 2 hectares de propriété verte tentaculaire, entourée de grands arbres et de pentes de montagne vallonnées. Savourez le petit-déjeuner et une boisson chaude sur le porche avant ou arrière tout en admirant des hectares de terres agricoles soutenues par de magnifiques collines. La maison dispose d'une grande chambre principale abritant un lit king-size et un dressing, et trois chambres supplémentaires - une avec un lit queen et les deux autres avec des lits confortables. Vous aurez beaucoup d'espace pour la détente et l'activité intérieure avec le salon spacieux doté d'une grande télévision à écran plat, d'une connexion Internet haut débit sans fil et de jeux de société! Came for a wedding

I brought my 84 year old father and my granddaughters in to town for a wedding. My father loved the house and the rooms for everyone. We will be back for next family event.

This became the meeting location for our combined families to enjoy. The house was very clean. You do need to bring all your essentials. If you do forget anything the dollar store is minutes away.

Carpet in first floor bedroom stained and old. Electric panel box was dangerous and a fire hazard. It has the potential to be a great place just needs a few tweaks. Great location.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was very disappointing. It is a dysfunctional 4 bedroom rental. The beds were not comfortable. 1 of the bedrooms is at the top of the stairs without a door and the other 2 bedrooms have to pass through it. There is 1 full bathroom and a water closet in the laundry room. Seven people getting ready for a wedding was problematic. I highly discourage any group of more than 4 persons from renting this unit.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The first thing we noticed when arriving was a missing window on the porch. The house is extremely outdated - appliances with visible rust, stained burners on the stove, holes in bedding, and holes in the carpet. The floor in the large bedroom upstairs bounces and isn't even close to level. The sink in the bathroom wouldn't drain, mold and mildew in the shower, bugs EVERYWHERE - dead and alive. One room had the door removed and was next to a poorly secured back door. It was terrible and we checked out a full day early. Total waste of money. I wish I could give negative stars.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I rented this property through Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals, who I have been satisfied with in the past. This property was advertised as 4 bedroom which was the deciding factor in choosing it. Unfortunately this was not accurate. One bedroom was in the upstairs stairway, with the only full bath access through this "bedroom". One of the downstairs bedrooms did not have a door and the 1/2 bath was a toilet in the laundry room with no mirror and a laundry sink. I feel this property was misrepresented in the advertising.

Farmhouse stay

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Management was easy to work with and the location was convenient. Home was clean, and two beds were very comfortable. As listed, this is a farmhouse, with typical quirks and drafty. Two of the rooms offer no privacy. Water didn’t seem to get very warm (maybe set to low for time of year). Lady bugs loved the home, as well. It does have nice touches of farm life, in pantings and other decor.

Overall it was a very clean property. Great experience with it all. Close enough to the ski resorts but far enough away as well. When it rained the sidewalk went under water but the was the only negative thing to say about the place

Perfect for what we wanted

(We would have appreciated a set of small bowls and some smaller glasses.) The beds were relatively comfortable, bedding and towels were spotless. The first-floor bedroom is noisy when others are up and active/talking.I think it had been a few days since someone had vacuumed, because we had a fair number of ladybugs (living and dead) sharing the house with us when we arrived, and the kitchen floor looked clean but had a few sticky spots. We met our son's family during COVID, an left only for walks, to visit Fort Necessity and get carryout from the local coffee shop, so I don't know about nearby restaurants. It was a quiet location, and when the sky was clear, we city folks enjoyed stargazing. The Farmhouse worked well for our long weekend getaway. The ladybugs gave us a chance to talk to our grandkids about insects seeking warmth in the fall-- definitely not a deal-breaker!We left refreshed from our weekend together.

Central location, so much space

We love Ohiopyle and Yough Lake and enjoyed the proximity to these places. The rooms are large with much more closet and drawer storage than we would ever use on vacation. (For the size of this house, I would have preferred that they put a couple of bunk beds in the largest room and added some comfy seating to the open area at the top of the steps instead of the queen bed. The person/people occupying that space are always in view of people coming up and down the stairs and using the only full bath - not a huge deal for some people. Of course I realize that this is only the unsolicited thoughts of a one time guest...) The house was clean and surrounding grounds well cared for and we appreciated the partially closed in porch where we could place our bikes when not in use. We shared the house with at least one mouse that we actually saw twice and more evidence of in the kitchen once. The refrigerator or freezer was having constant issues with water either running out onto the floor or onto things inside the refrigerator. I looked throughout the paperwork for a contact number just to let them know about these things but only saw info in case there was a problem checking in. We also appreciated the makeshift fire ring and view of the stars :). Since we didn't plan on camping, we did not bring chairs for seating but made do with a couple of coolers. As a parent with several kids on vacation, I appreciate not having to worry about things that don't work or having to fix things but that was not the case here. (Couldn't give one child a bath without the shower being half on and the shower head leaked sideways. Washer gasket was moldy.) If I can't say 95% wonderful things about a property, I just don't write a review. However, I always appreciate reading other reviews and because I didn't see any on this property and mostly took a chance based on Fernstone Retreat's reputation, I thought I would complete this one even though it is mixed. With attention to some details, it will be a very nice place to stay and worth the cost. I'm glad we tried the farmhouse and look forward to exploring the area more in the future.

Fun place to stay but it needs a little TLC

Great old house. Great location near fun outdoor activities, but the house needs some small improvements. Two of the three beds upstairs are old and need to be replaced. The good one is oddly in the hallway. There are 2 acres, but no picnic table or outdoor furniture, and they sell nice, inexpensive wood furniture in the area. If they just replaced the old beds, added some outdoor seating/eating and cleaned up the wood sheds out back, it would be more worth the higher end price. They need to either invest a little in improvements or lower the price. A great place, but it is fair expect a bit more for the price.
