A Bright Breakaway

Deciding to have a short break prior to the Christmas rush we booked this premises due to it's location and being pet friendly. The location is terrific and the premises is fairly well set up. Sadly the cleanliness let it down dramatically. Unmade bed, rusty toaster, bug filled lights, dirty kitchen floor, microwave, oven trays, window sills all dirty, mouldy bathroom blind and unclean BBQ made for a disappointing experience. This was reported to the property managers who we acknowledge offered to send a cleaner around however we had cleaned it ourselves by then. We found their response .... "We did have an inspection done prior to your arrival however they must have missed these small items that have added up to a large issue for you. " disappointing as we don't feel that poor cleanliness across the premises is "a small item". This is not cheap and cheerful accommodation - you are paying top dollar and have a right to expect cleanliness to match it. The premises is in need of an overall freshen up.

Allambie Cottages Villa 2

Great place to stay. Well presented and has all that you need. Easy transition and communication. Great quiet location just far enough out of town to enjoy a short stroll in and back. Only minor downside is that it is not an efficient property for heating. Loft is a great idea but downstairs remains cold and upstairs too hot. May be could be improved if air conditioning unit was positioned lower on the wall as warm air naturally rises. This could make it a little more effective for downstairs.

Short-break in Bright

We enjoyed our visit to beautiful Bright resplendent in Autumn colours. The accommodation was well appointed and in a good location to the town. The only downside was the layout of bedroom upstairs and bathroom down some quite steep stairs.

Pet friendly and close to town

Overall this property offers excellent accommodation. Only disappointment was there was insufficient gas for the bbq to last thru our stay. Whilst there are strict policies on pets not being left unattended sadly some one chose to ignore this and we had to listen to their dogs howling for several hours.
